Esteemed Lunch & Learn - Build/Deploy from GitHub to Pantheon w/ GitHub Actions by JD Leonard

GitHub Actions is the new kid on the block when it comes to CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment). We’ll discuss key GitHub Actions concepts, observe the workflow I’ve implemented for multiple clients deploying their Drupal applications from GitHub to Pantheon, and walk through the workflow definition line by line. While the workflow I’ll demo is specific to a Composer-managed Drupal application and Pantheon hosting, the concepts apply equally to other setups and the workflow can be easily adapted. Whether you’re new to CI/CD or already using it, this will be a practical introduction to one of the major cloud tools and a different approach for deploying from GitHub to Pantheon’s Dev, Test, Live, and MultiDev environments.
About the speaker:
JD is a Senior Drupal Architect, Back-end Developer, and Consultant specializing in Drupal 7, 8, and 9. He’s been using Drupal for over 14 years and has been freelancing professionally for the past 8 years. Based in Jersey City, NJ near New York City, JD runs the DrupalNYC monthly meetups and co-organizes the annual DrupalCampNYC conference.
