- From the medieval 14th Century manuscript Llibre Vermell de Montserrat (The Red Book) here is the last song, Ad Mortem Festinamus. An upbeat number that reminds us we are all hurrying towards death, so desist from sin, Life is short and shortly it will end. Nicely punctuated in the manuscript with a picture of a cadaver and the words "You will be a vile corpse". Fun!
Performed by Daniel Shoskes on a 5 course medieval gittern built by George Stevens

Charming tune despite the topic, and great rendition ! Thank you for keeping this music alive :)
Health to your hands!
Puts me in the mood for mortality.
So you are saying I killed it?
Wonderful !
Sounding wonderful as always, Danny. Thanks for sharing this "fun" literature. I imagine this might have been composed (and the illustration drawn) after that devastating mid-century bubonic plague pandemic, c1350.
Yes charming ... 😃 And the end is what we call in french " en queue de poisson " ! Great thanks, indeed ...🍀
Thank you very much.
