I understand you guys were doing a test and showing an example which is great. With the half inch studs torqued to spec will this cause deformation of the cylinder bores or the main bearing bores??
even torquing a stock bolt or 11mm stud distorts the tops of the cylinder bores. This is why the use of a torque plate is important when machining the bores of a block.
Are the center studs torqued to less than the outer studs as the factory recommends or are they torque all the same? . And what would you recommend the torque procedure be with half inch studs?.

Why do you convert a metric part to SAE? Does not make sense... 14mm head stud gaskets are available as well. Kind of like running 3 summer tires and one winter tire on your car ...I do like your demonstration and test though. Well done.
MooreSport because it clears the head gasket as mentioned. Also bolt clearance at the head . It makes no difference if it’s a stud because you match the nut to the bolt thread . By increasing bolt thickness , it increases torque capability tremendously. M14 is .5513” , 1/2” is 0.5000”
How deep do you drill for those half inch studs?
Whats is the boost limit for each stud? I've been running the arp 2000's to almost 30psi on my closed deck sti with no issues.

I can say 50-60 psi or even more you can see the torture torque test 233 ft lbs that a lot

it doesnt even matter cause they machine the whole engine block for these studs

poor head gasket material, poor surface finish on block & head has caused more leaks than any hardware issue.
