    1000 approach shots from 150ft with those pixels could also be a game changer with your total scores :) cool stats!

    I am good with math. With the overall average I was guessing the final few hundred being close to around 45%.
    You improved quicker than I expected. BRAVO SIR.
    I believe my guess was 37.76%

    I recommend walking challenge for next milestone simply bc walking is so good for your health. Thanks for all the great content! This was very fun to watch. Maybe walking x amount to courses or mins or steps. Just food for thought

    I also have to say I’m impressed with the thought you put into the challenge and the videos about it. This last video was full of not only stats but also insight into your putting style, the physical and psychological effects of the project, and your own reactions to the work.
    As a researcher, I know that statistics are the basis of figuring out what is happening in a particular phenomenon or event, but in-depth analysis of the data is the actual goal. Without systematic and thoughtful analysis, there is very little understanding of what the data actually “mean.” Your analysis was top-notch, Greg!
    I enjoy your videos for the perspective you bring to each one that helps me learn more about disc golf and the human condition. Great work, as always!

    10,000 Thank you’s. You were the right Challenger for this endurance test. It’s difficult to Judge all the statistics, but I think you’re a Wizard at it. When you hit 15,000 subs, Alpaca lunch and watch. Thanks again for sharing just a Pixel of what you’ve learned.

    I putt with Alpaca's and it's the original Discmania Innova made P2 mold, not Aviar.

    • @salommy
      @salommy 19 днів тому

      Yeah the P2 mold is similar to the Aviar mold but with an added insert to make it deeper. It’s definitely not “basically a nexus Aviar” like he said (I paraphrased).

    I’ve watched almost every video you’ve put out and not only was this the best one it might be the most informative disc golf video I’ve seen(that wasn’t a tutorial). The detail you put into this was outstanding.

    Congrats Greg for getting through, and on your significant iimprovement! Also congrats to the giveaway winners! Although I didn't win I'm pleased that my guess of 38 point something something (.18?) was less than half a percent off the final number . . . I guess in Truth I'm a Wizard Judge-ing Apaca Challengers!
    Err . . . Watt? Pixel. Yeah!!
    Thanks again Greg (from New Zealand, via Rarotonga in the Cook Islands), for all the wonderful content.

    I loved this video and the dedication you put into it. Of course, I'm a big fan of your many review style videos as well. I wonder how different the stats might have been if you putted 2,000 times in a row with each of the 5 putters, not switching back and forth between the different molds for the first 5000 putts. 🤔 I think while your putting percentage did increase while throwing all 5 putters back to back, it definitely does make a difference to keep changing between hand feels. I say this from my own experience, of having a MVP black hole in my front yard, and practice putting with 16 different putters regularly. Very happy for your success, making it to 10,000 subs! Keep up the great content.

    My guess was 37% and change. I was off the final % by 1%-so close! It was a fun contest. Really good idea from a viewer perspective-though not so much from your view.
    I knew you would get better, Greg! That 21.6% was just a bad day and/or it’s hard physically to do 125 putts all at once. My arm starts to tighten up after just a 20-putt practice session!

  • @dblevins343

    As someone who enjoys sim racing, I know the pain you just went through. Like you said, once you hit a certain value, you don't expect to drop below it. For instance, once you hit 40%, you mentally don't want to shoot worse than 36%. It just eats at you.
    In sim racing, we do this with lap times. Once you hit a certain laptime, you think your past setting a slow lap that's 4 seconds slower. Inevitably, you will be that slow at some point again. It's also frustrating when you know you can hit time X but your consistently slower than it by a consistent time. That's feeling sucks.

    In my last 10 years, from proud rec to average MA40+
    I found that I putt too hard for the staggered stance inside C1. I'm more accurate C1 with a straddle stance. My natural putt has changed so much over those years. Predominantly a Spin putter now.
    But I tried every form, to the point that I only think about the line and wrist now. Putting is a fun journey and the hardest thing to do naturally.

    Instead of looking at percentage point improvement look at true percentage improvement. You improved your putting percentage by about 100%. The first 10 points from 20 to 30% is a 50% improvement; but 30% to 40% is only a 33% improvement. As one gets better the magnitude of the gain decreases; i.e., it gets harder to better after that initial big jump.

    It would be interesting to see the quality of the misses during this 10000. Did you go from airballing to a bunch to mostly rim/chain/band outs?

    • @SixSidedDiscs
      @SixSidedDiscs  16 днів тому +1

      Yea actually, I don’t have any data to support this but anecdotally from what I remember it was less huge airballs and more cage/band/chainouts

    Throw 100,000 feet combined and see how few throws you can make it in.
