not my dumb ass hearing him say "mai character guide is out on the official channel" and thinking "whoa he made a character guide for capcom that's so cool"
Dang, it's pretty cool that his clip channel quality is on par with his old vids on the main channel. And the main channel's vids quality now goes beyond. Definitely deserve the fgc content creator vote.
I just wanna nerd out over Mai's gameplay, but with so many people on the internet typing with 'one hand' it's nearly impossible to have a conversation about her actual tools. Thankfully, I can still watch people go into detail about her gameplay.
let me tell you something, i was a Baiken main in Strive....so try to have an actual conversation about THAT character. I feel you though, im excited to play Mai.
I bet that her dive"kick"on block is -4 and higher if hits above the knee and -3 bellow the knee. If its low jump cancellable as should be shes gonna be a nightmare to keep away. The only 2 big flaws in her kit is her slow, short backdash and that she has apparently the Juri-like corner throw loop/shimmy issue. Im calling it here, after CC, many Juri strong players (all 4 of them) will swap into Mai.
I'm a little bit worried about the fact that they haven't shown any specific difference between the normal moves and the enhanced moves. I wish it gives her some new properties and combos routes because it is already really fun to imagine some weird setups where you intentionnaly throw your level 1 instead of farming other supers. I do hope it is actually worth it to do that
for what it’s worth, i think that sf6 is still doing a pretty good job at making the individual characters fun and interesting, even if the system mechanics leave a lot to be desired. i’ve really enjoyed playing the dlc characters so far, especially ed, AKI, and terry.
On paper, it's good to have unique mechanics for each character or at least most of them. The problem is, if optimized at high level, it'll most likely get reduced to cr.MK or Fireball into DR ad nauseum. I do like that Mai seems to encourage usage of the Super meter more due to the stocks
@@odd_cup_of_coffee They need to do more with supers tbh. I get they want to have the same mechanics for every character, but that doesn't mean they can't get wacky with supers damnit!
how do the system mechanics leave alot to be desired? SF6 arguably has the best system mechanics in a vanilla version of a SF game basically in history. just about every other SF game in the past needed atleast one or more versions to actually get its core mechanics in a way most people enjoyed. The only real outlier being SF4 but even then the balancing in vanilla SF4 being particularly bad.
@@joedatius contextually that's true, sf6 is more refined and the core mechanics are intrinsically well balanced. drive rush, impact, parry and reversal and their relation with the rest of every character's kit is awesome and well planned. However this leaves little room for uniqueness. They've effectively homogenized the game, everyone plays more of less the same.
@@namelessiam7792 no they factually do not. That's like saying parry in third strike made everyone homogenized or that FADC somehow made SF4 homogenized. Different characters use the mechanics to different levels and to different proficiency. honestly saying the core universal mechanics somehow make all the characters more or less the same is just outing yourself on having an extremely shallow view on how the games systems work.
My question is, does the charged fan clash with regular projectiles, or is it still beaten outright? The text just says it won't lose to strikes when charged.
You were good until "chou" like "chow". A u after an o in Japanese just means to hold the "oh" sound for longer. This is why some older localization would just drop the u entirely (ex hadouken vs hadoken), since English doesn't convey timing through spelling as consistently.
I think this character is going to be completely broken at release. She has every tool available to her like Akuma but without the minus health. Also DLC waifu with big bouncing boobs + Broken...Capcom knows how to get money
Yeah it's pretty wack. They have this idea that charge characters are hard to learn for newcomers. Someone needs to show them May in Strive if not simply looking at Honda in their own game.
i agree. i played deejay in sf6 for a while and i found him pretty fun after i got the inputs down. charge characters really aren’t that hard and you can still play them to a pretty high level without having to learn all of that crazy charge partitioning shit and doing sonic boom loops or whatever lol
I expressed the same sentiment on another video and got blown tf up for wanting more charge characters. It feels very samey having so many input that also benefit from the Drive Rush meta. I also find charge more intuitive, and fun. But you'd think doing charge inputs require squeezing your nuts each time with the visceral reactions I read.
not my dumb ass hearing him say "mai character guide is out on the official channel" and thinking "whoa he made a character guide for capcom that's so cool"
Not the only one
Totally got me too man
Def same
Mai has that effect on people
I totally didn't pause the video after 14 seconds to scroll down to the comments to see if I was crazy.
That look at the camera after reading “slip inside” lmao 🤣

That's what I'm saying. Bro got a Patreon too with attractive benefits that isn't even gatekeeping it's just "lazier" like this channel

@@SwagLakitu what other ways are there to make money creating content?

can't wait to see Desk's video when Mai releases
Damn u right
Desk videos are ass, terrible suboptimal combos 90% of the time and the other 10% are Dhalsim arc fireball wankjobs.
Yeah but they be cool bro chil
@@thuroria7631You hate him cause you do drive rush target combo spiral arrow super and think youre the shit
@@thuroria7631did you... did you think they were meant to be optimal??
very transformational. my world is blown
Fyi, "Musasabi" is the native name of the Japanese Flying Squirrel, so Musasabi No Mai means "Mai of the Flying Squirrels".
Mai means “dance”. So it’s more like the flying squirrel dance :) Very cute!
me when brian f provides insightful and transformational analysis:
:D
Her install is also a special move so no points are really wasted. That was nice.
20:09 Mai 👍

It's beguiling like Guile.
I really like the CA. The final pose looks cool!

I can't wait to see some EVO/Pro level matches with these new characters.
I wonder how SF6 Mai will compare with CotW Mai
Nice to see Andy Bogard enter the stage background nex to Joe.
Mai oh Mai. She's gonna mixing ppl up with the greatest of ease.
full screen travel on hk cartwheel seems silly with kachousen in her kit tbh
i don't think it'll be strong, but definitely silly
Mai 👍

Running in after her fan has been Mai 101 in KoF since forever, so it makes sense that she has a good fireball into driverush.
Great!
mai 👍
I’ve always wondered, what model is that guitar in the back?
I cant to get my hands on Mai myself
A neutral jump may null the 2nd fan hit

I think it clashes, like a normal fireball does, when it is charged. Pretty sure I seen this in a video.
Very cool. Only L is I like/enjoy charge characters, coming to think of it might be why I like EX2 Plus so much.
I wonder if her CA is different when she has stocks
not commenting on the last Mai's taunt? man's on mission
Bryan apologizing for his pronunciation was cute HAHAHA

could do hadooken and choo instead
Brian is the first person to look at Mai and say “not bad” but be talking about gameplay mechanics.
She looks like a cooler Juri, and as a lazy Juri main that never bothered to learn FSE, it'll be nice to have a lvl 2.
he is a ''fan'' get it?
4:05 be Guile-ing??? I thought this was about Mai.
gyatt.
hi
I don’t really like her level 3, it reminds me of Manon where she just dances around and doesn’t hit them.
I think this character is going to be completely broken at release. She has every tool available to her like Akuma but without the minus health. Also DLC waifu with big bouncing boobs + Broken...Capcom knows how to get money
Mai. 😐👍
Doesn't hit when they are crouch is so annoying most of these ppl are crouch gaurding 😂😅
Might have a way to restand like Akumer
I guarantee you her stand HP stands opponents. Eevery character with standing specific moves have normals (usually heavies) that force stand on hit.

wish capcom wouldn’t lean away from charge characters. they changed terry’s rising tackle to a DP input too
In one of terry’s more recent appearances(kof xv to my only knowledge) his rising tackle is a dp motion
