@@itsactuallymedrake It's really common with second languages. It is exactly the same with my Spanish as a native English speaker. My college actually has students studying foreign languages take classes specifically for speaking because it's more difficult than reading and writing :)

That wouldn’t be considered amazing I know plenty of people including me who are fluent and English in Spanish. What’s truly incredible is the people fluent in 3+ languages
@@harplixx I have to agree here with harplixx. Two languages is not a big deal. I grew up around English, my internal dialogues are in English but I'm born and raised in Sweden so evidently I speak fluent Swedish too (I don't count them but Norwegian and Danish is close enough to be understood and not hard).
To learn Spanish and Japanese is the goals for the future, then I'd consider myself more amazing in terms of languages.

@@CountesssBathory I wouldn't say the bare minimum, everyone's situation is different and some people don't have to learn another language to get around, but as someone who's been trying to learn various languages for around 6 years and can still only speak English (granted, I can understand a significant amount of a couple latin based languages), I think everyone that can speak more than one language should be given credit, because there are some people that really can't learn a second language. So I wouldn't widdle it down to be the "bare minimum" or brush it off as nothing when some countries don't mandate learning a second language in their education system, being multilingual is still amazing! Especially with the different sentence structures and grammar or noun rules/honorifics n all
