Time for you to do another Tony Khan interview buddy!
Thank I just ordered my new wallet the discount really helps out
i kind of agree and disagree with what Chioda is saying with dictating the crowd, sometimes you should let the crowd kind of guide your match but not overrun it, but trying to force them into a certain direction is not a great idea
you all probably dont care but does anyone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?
I somehow lost my account password. I love any tips you can give me.
@Bruno August Instablaster :)
This is actually a really fucking awesome interview, it’s always amazing when you get the rare glimpse to hear the referee’s perspective
A different perspective for sure.
Him and Earl were always my fave refs, but I loved that he would always yell at the wrestlers and you can hear him swearing at them lol
Tim White and Danny Davis and joey marella,
Earl, up until he was flogging dodgy merch.
@@davidjones6470 Marella and Gorilla lived right near me when I was a kid. My dad kinda sorta knew them through his contracting. It was def sad when Joey died young. Think it was a car accident.
@@MilkmanC yeah,it was really sad I think he was 33
I distinctly remember watching him give the two-fingers gesture to someone who was arguing with him a good 8-9 years ago. 😂
He is such an underrated person in the world of wrestling. Seems likes a nice down to earth nice guy. Great interview!
Didn't know I wanted this vid, but hell yeah!
Hell yeah!!
I completely disagree with the idea that we shouldn't know the referees. In fact, they should have figures too! They deserve just as much acknowledgment for what they bring to the show as the wrestlers themselves.
AEW is doing good with Aubrey Edwards.
No they don’t.. and no one would by their actions figures, lol. Yes wrestling still has a lot of older fans, but there are more fans in the 0-18 and 18-29 age range, and none of them care about the refs, I garuntee you that
@@GQFJB Completely disagree with you
@@robbliss7999 what’s so cool about a weak looking guy in a zebra shirt being knocked out by a slight shove by the wrestler?
@@GQFJB im on that rage of age u say im 23 and i do care about the refs so i completely disagree with u
The kinda guy you'd be lucky to have as a ref in your company. He has so much experience.
Another home run for u my friend, Mike looks to be an awesome guy to talk to! Thank u for the Great times Chris. Gretings from México.
Thanks again!
My all time favourite referee! Thank you for this interview!
I recall a show they did here in South Africa, Chioda was alone in the ring just after the break and I yelled "Hey Mikey!" from the front row. He looked at me and gave me the 2-hand signal. I marked out!
The way he sold a false finish is second to none. Being in the crowd, the fans would erupt cause they thought it was over. True legend of the business. Hell of an interview.
this man isTHE best to ever do it.
Nick Patrick was the greatest. Followed by Earl, then Chioda. But Chioda is a GREAT.
No you did not interview Chioda!! This is fantastic. What a legend. I remember watching when he first started. He and Joey Marella (Gorilla Monsoon's son) were the best referees.
There’s never been a wrestling match ever that even today puts a smile on my face like Hogan vs Rock, absolutely electrifying
Hitman vs Piper , hitman vs stone cold, flair Vs Shawn Michaels, mmmmm,
F Hogan and F the Rock since he first left
I laughed so much when Mike said his hand is the money maker not the face.
I wonder if that was a jab at The Miz
I never knew I needed a Mike Chioda interview until I saw this! What a great guy! Great interview, Chris!!!
This guy literally has the best interviews. Like dam much respect. Chris van vliet
Thank you Chris for amazing interviews for past few years specially in Lockdown era!! ♥
And thanks for watching them!
Chris this is a great interview man mike chioda is thee best ref the WWF had and he’s a super nice man I’ve met him 3 different times and he’s a total class act 👍🏻
Never appreciated how vital referees are to wrestling until I got into wrestling myself. A good ref is a must especially if you’re working heel
Late to the party watching this interview, but props to you both. FANTASTIC interview.
I was there in Orlando when Brock superplexed Show and broke the ring. We went absolutely nuts cuz we got to see something amazingly special. I remember the ring techs before the match tightening the top and middle turnbuckle in that corner as hard as they could to make it as easy as possible for Brock to be balanced on that 2nd rope to superplex a quarter-ton to the mat. Total Holy Shit moment.
Another amazing video, Chris. I love how you make all the guests feel comfortable and let them speak, as opposed to forcibly navigating the direction of the conversation. Keep up the amazing work my fellow Canadian hombre.
Man, gotta love Mike. The way he used his arms and sold things in the ring and showed the type of energy that you needed for a big fight feel. What a great talent
Their is true passion in this mans voice and i dont know why i never expected these guys to be such big marks but i FUCKING LOVE IT. The perspective of the guy who is not performing the moves but performing his role is definitely so intriguing. You the man you dont miss on these CVV
Hey Chris I just wanted to tell you that this interview inspired me profoundly.
Excited for this one. Chiodas a great guy! Keep up the great work Chris!
Mike's a genuinely great guy. Back in 05, I bumped into him at a hotel & he was very personable. I got his autograph & a pic with him. Just really cool guy. Very humble. Glad hes doing well
Interviews with referees are so cool, they're so visible but often go unheard on screen. Their insight is always a fascinating experience listening to.
This is exciting. Can't wait to listen
The greatest interview you've ever done. My dad was a referee and masked wrestler in Puerto Rico. (Nobody knew he was both persons haha). I really appreciate Mike Chioda. Thank you for that great interview Chris
Him and Charles Robinson are my favorite old school refs with Aubrey and Bryce Remsburg as my current favorites. This was a great interview, thanks Chris!
Still rocking that Philly, South Jersey accent. Lots of great stories. There needs to be a part 2 of this interview. You could tell the Rock always liked him, especially after that Cena match when he grabbed him and gave him that look after the match. Big fan of your work Chris and Mike as well
I didn't realize he was neighbors of Gorilla and son. I grew up right nearby. Sad young death of Joey
Man Chioda seems really excited to do this interview it was awesome!
always one of my favorite refs over the years, hoping they use him more in AEW especially for the big matches
This man deserves to be in hall of fame
I read several comments saying “I didn’t think I needed this but it was worth it” ITS TRUE. ITS DAMN TRUE. Great interview!
Chioda is worth of being HOF inductee
Unreal the treatment he got, 31 years... He deserves so much more appreciation
You should do a part 2 Chris. the man has some awesome stories.
I'm sure he will do more interviews with the same people.
This was such a awesome interview! I would of paid to listen to it 🔥🔥 mike you are a legend and deserve a sign off on air 🙌🏻 fingers crossed 🤞🏻 for you 👏
Chris you always ask the questions that everybody wants to know the answer to it’s great. Fantastic interview
Glad you enjoyed it!
this Interview went by so fast, I could listen to him all day, thanks for the Interview Chris, this was Awesome!
I've only attended one WWE live event and it was Smackdown 2015 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Mike Chioda was refereeing the opening bout which was the dark match of the night, Jack Swagger vs. Brad Maddox and Chioda's name was chanted throughout the opening bout.
Another fantastic interview. Thanks so much for your hard work Chris! Mike - Chi - O - Da *clap clap clapclapclap*
Why are people always ready to replace old with new when some of the old is still forever better than the new. Old don't mean broken and new don't mean fixed. Mike Chioda is the referee of many peoples memories, he counts the three before we fall asleep and he rings the bell when we wake up. Forever the best ref in the history of professional wrestling as a whole.
Mike Chioda is so cool, I met him in Abu Dhabi at a wwe live event around 8 or 9 years ago he was so cool
Mike Chioda is truly one of the all greats. He really knows the ins and outs on what it takes to be a ref, and he’s been doing this for over 3 decades. This was a great video.
That’s going be an awesome book. Can’t wait for it to come out.
I had a conversation with him once he's a super nice guy.
He and Earl are still my favorite refs in pro wrestling. And Mike may have inched out earl as my #1 at this point. He seems like a great guy to talk to.
Chanting mike chioda at the end reminded me of being at the raw after mania 29. The crowd hijacking the orton sheamus match came after during the commercial the camera showed chioda and the crowd popped. Then after the match got started the fans chanted mike chioda and then all hell broke loose from there. What an epic moment and night
I don't think Earl Hebner deserves to be in the same conversation as Mike Chioda. Chioda is the GOAT
Enjoyed this a lot. Mike Chioda is a cool dude!
Tommy Young, Dean Hart (R.I.P.), Joey Marella (R.I.P.) were my favorite referee's along with Mike Chioda.
Siiiiick interview! 2 really cool, down to earth dudes
Another great interview Chris. Mike seems really like a laid back cool guy to hang out with.
I thought this was an interview with Mike Shinoda. 🤔
I bet if you got a fan to list their top 10 favourite WWF/E matches of the last 25 years, I bet Mike Chioda would be the ref in at least half of those. Legend.
Amazing interview again. Mike comes across as such a nice guy. Keep up the good work!
OUTSTANDING INTERVIEW!! Was on the edge of my seat!! 🔥🔥
Loved this interview. Really interesting to hear a referees perspective on the world of pro wrestling, They’re fans like us and have seen more of the ins and outs of wrestling more than anybody.
Been waiting for this my man.. awesome interview as usual.. Cheers and Thanks
seems like a totally legit good dude great interview
He sounds a lot different to how I expected lol.
I feel like how he sounds exactly how I expected lmao
He sounds like ryback
Same lol
@@thefordguy5596 He do
Mike Chioda was my favourite referee from Raw 2 on the original Xbox he always counted a little faster than everyone else 😂
Ps when I was training to be a pro wrestler I met someone looking to become a referee I'm sure there is enough Interest for a veteran like Mike to be in the teaching business!
Great interview and unexpected! I love how you're connecting with potentially underappreciated people like the referees!
Thanks Chris for providing....Insight!
Hope we see a lot more from him in AEW
That was a one off deal
Mike was the greatest ref ever that guy gave his all to the wwe wish him nothing the best
Continuing to absolutely kill it, CVV!!
Great interview as always CVV!
Best ref in the biz , brings a level seriousness no1 brought
One of my favorite referees in WWE.
Mike and Earl was my favorite referees
I'm so glad AEW brought him in even if it doesn't end up permanent. The reception he got was great. I can't believe he is not under contract to them yet. He would be a HUGE asset to AEW
They have a lot of refs on payroll. Cody’ wanted to hire him full time but Tony Khan said no because they have their own. So Cody proposed to have him referee his match which he did. So likely he will do special appearances. Once the vaccines are in full swing and the pandemic is better. Khan might give him a full time contract.
Great interview as always all the best Mike in the future.
As always Thanks Chris for the full content. Love 🇬🇧
Awesome interview Chris!
Have always appreciated Mike Chioda. As with Mike Tenay, I would love if AEW brought him in during PPVs or larger TV events. Great ambassador for the industry.
Along with the hebners (especially Earl) for me Chioda was the best ref there was , Charles Robinson is also very good is also very good, just listening to Mike tho he’s a good guy, just little things like counting the babies same as heels, how he did his false finishes etc just shows you how good he is and how he knows his stuff.
Great interview! Keep it up Chris
Ref interviews are awesome!
I know mike chioda on tv! I Know the other referees on tv, too! Like Charles Robinson, Scott Armstrong and John cone! Those 3 are my favorite WWE Referees!
Listening to these old wrestling road stories are seriously like one of my favorite in all of life...
I’ve always considered Mike Chioda as one of my favorite WWE referees. WWE should indict him into the hall of fame either by next year or in 2025.
Chris you bought my favorite ref on you my friend are a LEGEND.
Chioda is in a much better place now.
I love it when wrestlers/refs/whoever are so kind and loving to each other. I smiled like an idiot when Mike sang Y2J’s praises. This was a wonderful interview.
Ah... WrestleMania X8 in Toronto. 8th row floor seats for me, and it was an unforgettable night.
Your channel deserves more subscribers man. Always good interviews
I love hearing stories from active and former referees. I would be much appreciated to interview former WWE referee Jack Doan
So much knowledge dropped in this episode! Thank you Mr. Chioda! Yeeaahh Braaahh Kadabra!
The unsung talent from wrestling. Pretty sad there will never be a behind the scenes documentary about how they prepare
What a guy Chioda is.
He will always be etched in my memory when I think of a referee, hope he continues to do his thing
Haven’t watched the video yet but to be released after 31 years is sad, But my word the amount of things Mike Choida would have seen over the years would be unimaginable
I having been looking forward for this now i can't wait to watch the video also as always great and amazing interview
YOU'RE DEFINITELY THE MOST POSITIVE INTERVIEWER IN WRESTLING. GREAT JOB CHRIS!!
I WISH THAT YOU WOULD INTERVIEW SOME OF US BOYS FROM THE PUERTO RICO WRESTLING SCENE. GOD BLESS. LOVE THE CHANNEL.
Another great interview!
👍👊✌❤
"You can't say NO to Andre (the Giant)." - Mike "the (Jersey) Legend" Chioda !!! This is an Epic Interview - thanks Chris... "OMG !" - Joey Styles; "Holy Crap !" - a great (Go-To) crowd reaction chant "Go Back on the Road !" - Mike's wife. "I just Got back Home !" - Chioda
Sounds like a great guy! He's my favorite ref!
Definitely my fav ref!
Mike Chioda is one of the best wrestling referees of all time besides Earl Hebner & Charles Robinson
