      I agree! As amazing as the game is, I will admit that it probably should have undergone a couple more months of beta.

      Yay thanks for letting me know! I truly hope you enjoy it as much as I have. :)

      I'm sure I will. I absolutely loved RCT 1, 2, and 3, and have spent thousands of hours playing them. I miss RCT3 so badly, I just cannot get it to run in a useable fashion on my modern hardware. :(

    • @FoxyFernGaming
      @FoxyFernGaming  8 років тому +1

      Uh oh. If you have issues running RCT3 you're going to have issues with Planet Coaster. But I suppose you can always do the 2 hour thing with Steam and return it if that's the case. I hope you can play it though!

    • @gregwolking
      @gregwolking 8 років тому +1

      I'm sure I replied to this last night, but it disappeared. Coaster Planet should work just fine. My "issues" with RCT3 on my Core i7 6700K are practical, not functional. The game actually *runs* like butter. The problem is that this ancient game was not designed with modern display modes in mind. At 1080p, the UI is too small to use. At 720p, the mouse pointer is displaced about 1.5" to the right of its actual hotspot on my 43" TV, making it impossible to tell what you're clicking on, and to click on anything within 1.5" of the right edge of the screen. Since it's designed for modern hardware, Planet Coaster shouldn't have any of these issues.

    • @FoxyFernGaming
      @FoxyFernGaming  8 років тому +2

      +Greg Wolking Ohhhh I hear ya. Yea that's the downside of older games. It's nice when companies release remastered versions of things. I was SOOOOOO happy when The Secret of Monkey Island came out on Steam and I could finally play it on a modern computer again. :D

    Some great tips in here! Learning the details about the advanced X-placement options is good to know, that's a great tool. Also the pulling land up over the coaster, really great idea.

    • @FoxyFernGaming
      @FoxyFernGaming  8 років тому +3

      Thanks! I think I'll be doing a "let's build" video soon actually demonstrating the pulling the land over the coaster. I did a little bit of it in my latest challenge mode video but most if it was done on my stream.

    4:07 I've got almost 200 hours in this PlanetCoaster and I straight up never knew this. It just... happened sometimes, which was really convenient in many cases but really inconvenient in others. I figured the game was just trying to detect your intentions. I had no idea it was because I was accidentally hitting x while I already had the advanced move tool activated.

    • @FoxyFernGaming
      @FoxyFernGaming  8 років тому +1

      Happy to help! In my second vid I also mention how if you DO want to rotate the wall pieces independent of the grid, you can separate them out as a second building and use X to rotate the piece as an entire building and place it where you want. You won't be able to combine them into one building but you can still select them all and move them together should you need to.

    something I wish I had known before playing the game is HOW to save the coaster whit landscape around it.... there is such a big setback for me in the game because I love to save coasters i like and have done good....
    Missing the good old RCT 2....

    • @FoxyFernGaming
      @FoxyFernGaming  8 років тому +1

      Well to be fair you weren't able to do that in the old RCT either. :) What you have to do here is save your entire park if you want to save something you've done to the landscape.

      Glad it helped! I'm sorry I'm not sure what the issues with lag is. I know this game is INCREDIBLY PCU intensive. It would be very laggy for me recording it and I had to turn the graphics way down. I think most of this footage I actually used a program for that caused my game to play at 1/2 speed and then I sped up the recorded footage in Premiere. This game isn't friendly to older graphics cards that's for sure.

    2:53 ... no, you can remove the object from the grid so it acts as a scenery object.

  • @VaingloriousVagabond
    @VaingloriousVagabond 6 років тому

    I didn't know about the que scenery so when i built new rides people didn't want to go to them and i was losing money on it- with 100% i can now increase the prices a lot and people will come. making heavy profits off rides now instead of losing money. If you don't care about looks you can add about 15x exploding barrels near your ques and that will max the que scenery out (costs about 900$ for all 15x). I would only buy golden treasure chests to increase scenery bonus (different thing) because each gold chest is 10000$ and it only gives around 33% que scenery bonus.
    I kept losing staff mainly the stall vendors and janitors, because i didn't give them raises after just hiring them but their high workload and that standard pay made them quit quickly.I usually give people 15-25 raise right after hiring them now, because ill quickly be training them anyways.
    adding toppings and extras to your vendors products makes people want the item more in most cases even though it may not make much sense...(adding chocolate chunks and fudge to strawberry and vanilla ice-creams when there is a chocolate option, etc.) (ice sometimes makes customers happy or unhappy depending on the product) made the difference from getting only 20% busy to around 80-90% busy adding only half of the remaining options
    Not all stores are cheap on upkeep, some can cost around 1000/ month others can cost around 300/ month- if it is not making money shut it down and fire that staff!
    now my only problem is when my park gets above 2300+ visitors my game runs around 5-10 fps and always got thieving bandits runnin around my park lol

    3:20 I've tried soooo many different things to figure out how to get that rotation on all axis, and I cant figure out how.. I toggle between the two different X functions, and both of them only allow rotation on 1 axis.. It's pretty much ANYTHING under the "Building" section. is 360 degree rotation only available for scenery? Because nothing under building seems like it can.. I constantly try to make skinnier walls stand up straight, but they can't rotate that way.

      +Thoraxe555 Yea, unfortunately the building pieces can only be rotated on one plane. Really annoying - part of the reason I quit trying to make stuff. I don't like being limited like that hah.

    Man these people make some nice looking levels. I just like to shove as many coasters and rides in as I can. I make unique buildings but after seeing some of this stuff I'm like a pre schooler compared to these professionals.

    I know this may sound really silly, but I'm unable to make just a flooring area.. I can only find paths but I want a flooring area just like at 0:12 on the video. How do you do this? Thank you

      It's done with a mixture of paths(the red part) and just using pieces in inventive ways - don't always try to think of every object exactly as it's called. You can sink things into the ground, rotate them etc to make them "appear" to be a floor(but it's not something guests can walk on).

      Ah okay thank you.. So there isnt actually any path on the game you just kinda have to make it yourself? Hmm, I just want a food area with like wood flooring instead if it being just grass lol.

      Sadly yes, maybe they'll implement it later but I'm not sure. I feel the same way.

    How do I rotate objects smoothly instead of where it only has 4 ways to rotate it. I have trouble placing fences around ponds.

      It's been a minute since I've played, but have you tried pressing "Z"? I THINK that gives you free rotate, but I'm not sure.

    I just learned an easier way to create a lake is by using the land lowering tool after adding water. So like you can create a small little bit of water then use the land lowering tool to expand your lake without having to do all the ground work first and trying to find an edge for the water.

    Thanks. Now, we need a "How to Edit Your Coaster to fix its Mistakes you just made" video. There are plenty of videos showing you how to do basic building, but not how to get functioning and desirable coasters that the peeps want to ride.
    I've built some decent looking coasters, but with horrible ratings. I've had no luck in trying to fix them. For instance, just wanting to tilt a partially level section of track from left to right fall over to right to left fall seems impossible. Everything I've tried has it moving large sections that I don't want moved. Also, tips on how to adjust each of the 3 ratings metrics: Excitement, Fear and Nausea.

    Thanks for these! Any observations on leveling? I hit three stars on the first scenario park, but I can't go on to the second until I hit level two, and I haven't found any indication of how to do that...

      I've mostly just done challenge mode since that's where the appeal for me is. From my understanding though, there should be an objective on your menu to the upper left where you can check requirements.
