Class 197s FORGET TO UNCOUPLE At Swansea When Departing - TfW 197011 + 197012 | 21/4/23

- So the workers aboard these 197s were having a little trouble uncoupling these before they departed but kinda gave up and forgot about it until they started going and the driver managed to stop before they exited the station. After about 15 minutes of trying, the workers were successful in uncoupling the trains.
It definitely would've been an issue if these had not been uncoupling as 197012 was going on a test run to Carmarthen Sidings and 197011 to Cardiff Canton Sidings...
Similar incident at Glasgow Central a few years back.
Except Scotrail failed to announce only the front half portion of the train would actually be departing for Prestwick and that the rear half was going no where.
We all found out when another passenger went to check with staff on the platform (who were seemingly oblivious to the 3 full cars at the back of the train) and came back to tell us.
Ended up in a taxi to the airport with 5 other people.
Clickbait. They didn't "forget" to uncouple at all. They simply repositioned to a straight section of track before uncoupling. Clickbait = not good and not clever.
Well thank you for the information because I actually didn't know they did that. I didn't use it as clickbait, I just didn't know. A lot of the workers were very confused at the time and so I assumed they had simply forgotten. The driver looked kinda panicked and went out to check the coupling. The conversation they had sounded a lot like that wasn't meant to happen.
you cant uncouple on a curve anyway , so that's why had to go to the straight part of the platform
Like that time at Exeter when the rear 50 was still attached
I was once on a train leaving London Victoria which uncoupled itself just off the platform. Not a good start to my half day holiday!
It wont randomly uncouple itself, there are buttons inside the cab to uncouple which is the only way to do so, staff would also say its uncoupling.
@@SimplyJoshTrainspotter This was long before automatic de-couplings. It just hadn't been "fastened" properly!
@@batman51 which train was it
@@SimplyJoshTrainspotter I've no idea, it was 40 years or more ago!
@@batman51 ah I see
They are lovely ☺️ brand new trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 used for TFW - Transport For Wales 🏴. In the front of the class 197s are coloured red 🟥 . All class 197s convey a toilet 🚽 🚻 and a carpet. Inside the class 197s is nice 👌 and warm inside. Class 197s will be delivered to Transport For Wales 🏴 by around perhaps 🤔 the end of December 2025 which falls on a Wednesday is New Year’s Eve. TFW - Transport For Wales 🏴 runs daily and public holidays except Christmas 🎄🤶 🧑🎄 🎅 Day and Boxing 🥊 Day. The side of windows 🪟🪟🪟 have a rectangle. There are plenty of comfortable seats 💺 💺💺💺💺 on class 197s. 👍👍👍
They have already been transported to TFW.. and what is with the emojis
fucking hell get rid of those emojis
They are not lovely, they look nice on the outside, however there seats are like an IET, they always break down and because of this services are cancelled and they replaced the 175 (one of the greatest DMUs)
@@Verylonelyloconow Exactly.
@@CaffeinatedMoustacheI was on a service back in November; newton le willows to Chester (the train was bound for Llandudno) and had to be terminated at Chester and have a set swap due to the trains only toilet breaking. Then on my return journey of Wrexham General to Chester the train had to be swapped at Chester due to the toilet being broken (I believe this train was Holyhead bound)
That's pretty much what your channel name describes this incident.

@@charleyoldhamthef1guy428 Did you not get the joke? It was about the train crew failing, not me dissing their channel.
