Bobby was so talented in so many ways He was an amazing singer and performer. I read recently that Elvis was a big fan of Bobby and was always listening to his records. X😊
The sincerity of his performance always came through. You couldn't beat him for what he put into his songs. He was a true song and dance man and he gave it all he had.
DOUGLAS POSTER Before Darin, I was hooked on Jolson, and Darin has recorded so many Jolson songs, but my word, this one really shows how dynamic he was as an entertainer, and how much he just oozed sheer joy as he sang! What a sad loss to the entertainment world. He will always be my number one.
Damn..Bobby is Fine!!! Bobby had Passion....and Style..Bobby always said he would be better than Sinatra..Well, Bobby, you were..and always will be..and I like Sinatra!!! This clip is where Bobby does what I call his 4 Step Dance!! He always did this when he was singing..""Look Out Old Mackie Is Back!!""...Bobby dropped this particular dance routine later on!! But..it is a classic ..Swinging Darrin!! Do it!!! Do it!!
I'm watching this at exactly a quarter to nine. Do I win a prize? Oh, yes, I do. He's performing above, the GREATEST performer of all time. LOVE YOU, RWC!!! Thank you, C Ying Ho.
This is one of my favourite videos of Bobby Darin singing this wonderful song... He always amazes me with his exceptional soul felt vocals and man does he move with soul too... Bobby could do anything and once he startes singing you can not take your eyes off him, ever.... He has this awesome talent for telling the story and you totally get it as Bobby paints the picture right there before you eyes... Bobby the smooth, sexy, charismatic, charmer, with his awesome cheeky smile and those killer eyes always made ALL OF US FEMALES go totally weak at the knees.... Bobby had genuine talent and was the biggest and greatest entertainer of them all, other singers could only watch and try to figure out how to get just a little of his talent in their lives, but never getting anywhere near to his.... Bobby was the greatest in the business, even Sinatra envied him knowing that Bobby was talented in everything in entertaining, he was bigger, better and greater in the business than he would ever be... Way to go Bobby Darin !!!!!!!! REST IN PEACE BOBBY DARIN YOU CAME, YOU SHOWED, YOU CONQURED ALL !!! XO
Edith always expresses, so beautifully, exactly the way I feel about Bobby. Anyone can tell it comes from her heart. I would love to discuss 2 books I recently read re Bobby's life story. There are some lingering thoughts that occurred to me while reading, that were not addressed.. Does anyone know her email address? By the way, if you haven't already, Bobby was a guest host on the Mike Douglas Show 1970 with Mahalia Jackson. He actually cooks. It is delightful. Check it out.Ilene
I love that little dance break he had. Awesome song as well! I really want to find him singing this song on his t.v show but no one has put the full version on UA-cam yet.
They were so beautiful together. She had a horrible childhood and he had heart problems , also loved the ladies. Read their sons book.i have their movies.
John Osborne no way ______ Bobby Darwin's influences among others were Ray and Muddy ___ the guys you mentioned were not ._____ although his material overlapped Martin and the others Darin was a different singer____ his body of work stands alone ___ he was influenced by many but not overshadowed by any ---- he was influenced yes but totally unique __simply certainly not overshadowed
It was very bad luck for Bobby that he became a star in the years between the enormous fame of Sinatra and Elvis , because in many ways he was a greater performer than both of them ! !
M.J. Leger It is an old Al Jolson song - I just watched it , but no impact on me, sorry ( maybe because it's way before my time ) ...no where thrilling as Bobby's rendition :-)
Greatest Entertainer ever. Sammy Davis jr once said Bobby is the one guy you didn't want to follow.
My heart broke when he passed, we lost so much. I will miss him always. Thank you Bobby
one trillion stars!
Bobby was so talented in so many ways He was an amazing singer and performer. I read recently that Elvis was a big fan of Bobby and was always listening to his records. X😊

I just loved his moves. :)
This song was made famous by the Bobby Darin of his generation, Mr. AL Jolson😊
I'm watching this at exactly a quarter to nine. Do I win a prize? Oh, yes, I do. He's performing above, the GREATEST performer of all time. LOVE YOU, RWC!!!

EDITH SYMMANS perfect summary. What is it about Darin? He is addictive.
Lyall Blanco I've been asking myself too!

I just hope that people will show up when it shows up again.
All the more precious since we don't have a studio version of this.
Que extraordinaria interpretación, eso es un crooner.
They were so beautiful together. She had a horrible childhood and he had heart problems , also loved the ladies. Read their sons book.i have their movies.
So sad he always lived under the shadow of dean martin, sinatra, davis, elvis, bing and so many others when he imo was the most talented

It was very bad luck for Bobby that he became a star in the years between the enormous fame of Sinatra and Elvis , because in many ways he was a greater performer than both of them ! !
Both Sinatra and Elvis used to drop into Bobby's shows because they knew what talent he had.
Oh..Bobby...
When my friend Rickey Laturza has a date at quarter to 9 he plays this.
Brav'issimo!!!
Good voice, some pretty good moves, good song, terrific entertainer -- I think this is an old Al Jolson song.
M.J. Leger It is an old Al Jolson song - I just watched it , but no impact on me, sorry ( maybe because it's way before my time ) ...no where thrilling as Bobby's rendition :-)

AL PARECER SINATRA TOMO SU ESTILO, CREO..
Is that song on any of his albums ?
Good rendition, but the Al Jolson original version is best.
