- SpaceX conducted a static fire test of the Super Heavy booster that is going to launch Starship's 5th test flight.
The test occurred at Starbase in Texas on July 15, 2024.

Stays bolted to the launch pad.
well doing better than the Chinese at least
@@tom5051666 I can imaging Germany with its V2 had the same problems with their slaves 'forgetting' things.
They also don't fire the engines at full thrust so they don't rip the launch mount out of the ground.
Excellent retention. No premature release/ failure to abort.
@@jamietodd2560 Or have the launch pad lift off with the rocket XD
This reminds me of the day when I witnessed the Colombia shuttle take off on April 12th, 1981 from Florida and I was standing in knee high water of a small lake seperating the launch pad from the photographers staging area. The power of thrust from the Colombias rocket engines surged through my entire body and it was an experience that I will never forget. 🇺🇸🇺🇸✈️
This is much more powerful
look at the shock waves holy shit man
And that’s just 50% thrust
@@mistergoose6826 WHAT?! bruh that's absolutely crazy
I've been watching NASA and their contractors do space since the mid-sixties, but I've NEVER seen them do ANYTHING as elegantly, efficiently and beautifully as Musk and his SpaceX.
I couldn’t agree more.
Agree 100% because NASA is just another messed up Government Department
The sole reason is because SpaceX is a business, not government robbing citizens for expenses.
🙄☹️😳😬🤔🧐👍
Whether you love or hate Elon, you have to respect his willingness to push the boundaries, fail, pick up the pieces and move forward. NASA and Boeing are crawling along while SpaceX is sending them up like Roman candles.
SpaceX tends to nail the visuals. But it's usually third-party recordings that get what I find to be truly the best part of engine firings, namely, the sounds...
Is there anyother company ever exiated that does or did any better for real. ?
@@HaharuRecordscan you rephrase in English please
@@HaharuRecords I'm not saying that other companies necessarily do better. Some do release footage of single engine test fires with good audio. But for whole rockets and the like, third-party recordings are where one usually finds the good audio.
Rocket companies and aerospace organisations' main thing (aside from the launch itself) is to show to visuals, since that's what's usually the most eye-catching.
Even in visuals, SpaceX is usually the leader, normally being the only launch provider to have 4K streaming equipment available during launch, though with their move to X, the stream quality usually tends to get manually limited by them.
The channel on UA-cam NASASpaceflight has some amazing footage
@@penguin44ca Ask chat GPT just like you always do. You already know what it means! Grammer polis
At least SpaceX didn't accidentally launched this one.
But exploded.
It's china 😂
Oops 😂
The power... That deluge would destroy a family home if one was placed on top. Yet the engines flash steam all that water on less than full throttle. Impressive in every sense of the word.
Sound waves are crazy
I think the shock detonations were gravity waves.
China: Wait.. It's not supposed to go up during a static test?
we still love you spacex ...
So much POWER!!!!!
Ready to rock and roll! 😉👍 Just think if this booster actually makes it back in one piece, they may be able to use it again!!
Luckily, this isn't China. Can you imagine letting this thing go accidentally?
This is starting to look routine. Thats AWESOME!!!!
now they should do a 1 meter hover catch test off the OLM with chopsticks in place
Turn you subwoofer on. Man! Gives me goosebumps
It would be great if starchip had its own folding supports. If it’s a non-pean step, then at least a second step. It would be cool to see Starchip landing on the supports
Wow, I can feel the energy while watching the video.
Beautiful!!!
AWESOME...!!! 🙂👍👍
This is just so awesome. Can’t wait to see now what next steps will be achieved in the 5th launch.😁
Fingers crossed for no rapid unscheduled disassembly of the chopsticks and launch tower/pad.
Doesn't matter.
It looks different, clean and tight
I still want to see a chart of flow rate in the bidet before, during, and after ignition. I wonder how much it drops?
Thank you
That is some crazy power!
shiver me shockwaves
Resta X space
Love #SpaceX trying to became #Earth_Galactic_Whisper and to join to #2015_USA_AEPDF and #Murgu_Arrow which are #Eternal_Earth_Galactic_Whisper as #Science_Values_Absolute_Truth !
Perfect Machine. Perfect work in the world Perfect team in the world Perfect Mission. Thank you very much 160724.
what an acheivment, engines can work 10s , great, to go on Mars it needs 20.000 seconds to work with reliability
The booster looks like it is straining to be set free! Let me go to the Moon and beyond!
Great👍
Has a long way to go, its design is just for the Earth only.
This is going to be amazing... ❤😊
amazing
0:25 What are those stairs made out of to withstand all that heat?
Steel
Looks powerful. 😁
Impressive 😊
Are these only the center thrusters or the full 33? It doesn't seem like all of em. Also, imagine standing on that stair well at 0:40!
Since booster 9 they only do 33 engine tests
Silly Engineers - they forgot to turn the inertia dampeners off 😂😂
Beautiful ❤
That's it, and let's move forward!! Congratulations great team, forward! 🗽💥🔥🗽🤜👏👏👏🌟💫🚀
Absolut genial !
Epic! 😎
Epic
How do they hold down the rocket
20 big ass clamps, *not* made in china
Wow
When is this due to launch?
August, not sure when
Does anyone know why they performed this static test ? What were they looking to find out - or indeed - test - what was new ?
SpaceX does this to every booster that will be launching. they do this to test the engines and its systems, making sure they're in nominal operation.
These are all new hardwares especially the engines and of course prototypes. Part of their protocol to test before flight
GODSPEED SPACEX 🇺🇲 🇺🇲 🇺🇲
All that "pollution", all that water, alo that "Weather Modification"🙄
Those are oxygen and methane, not carbon
😮
The ChiComs got this part wrong. They thought the rocket should go up.
Who else high asf ?
All that fuel just burnt whilst I have to make sure I don't get fined for putting non recyclables in the wrong bin.
It's oxygen and methane. Basically not pollution. Methane has always been in Earth's atmosphere since it became a planet. It had no impact on life then or now. Quit listening to propaganda. 😅
Надеюсь даром не жгли горючее...мясо хоть подложили?
👎👎👎
Looking very good.
Also, notice how it DOESN'T 'accidentally' take off and crash near where people live...
