Saxophone legend Achie Shepp talks about saxophone legend Albert Ayler who was leader of free jazz but is unfortunately unknown to most people nowadays.

Who knows, maybe one day Albert Ayler's music will find a new audience. We can only hope.

Remember ESP Records? I had "Ghosts", "New York Eye And Ear Control" , "Spiritual Unity",all those weird transparent or colored vinyl LPs. I was a real fan of the avant garde.

Archie Shepp seemed like such a fiery, revolutionary guy when he was younger, it almost kind of odd to see him looking and sounding like a corporate CEO. I guess we all mellow out with age.
    Great video as always.

He is still a revolutionary but expresses it in different ways.
