I appreciate that you don't glue up the wings and cheeks before mounting. Always thought this was a "production" type of tying. Well done.

Yeah I wanted it to be a true tie and not have wings glued. The way I learned I never glued things on like that. This way its a true tie. I've seen multiple wing feathers tied together at the Rachis which I've tried as well. But this way I think is more challenging to get it all to sit right. I like the challenge. Thanks man!!!

This video was not intended to be teaching the ways of Carrie Stevens. This was me tying a fly Designed by her, but tied in my own way. I'm just a guy that loves to tye flies. I decided to share that with others since I've been asked about how I tie. Nothing more. Don't expect to learn the ways of Kelson, Hale, Stevens, or any of them. I may mention them, use some techniques and pull patterns from their books, but they will be tied in the way that works best for me. Its all about just having fun with it. 😎✌

Well Noone here meant any disrespect. Nor was anyone looking down their nose. It seams you may have taken his comment out of context. Nothing negative was said or intended. And I prefer that it stay that way. Thank you.

@@comesahorseman Not looking down my nose at anyone. Just making the statement that the CS glued wing was probably advantageous to producing a large number of flies for sale. Furthermore, I think both Ryan Houston and Davie McPhail both demonstrate CS style streamers sans glued wings. It's all about the end product, not necessarily how you get there.

That body work was stunning 👌 funny enough I put my floss on a bobbin a few nights ago and I found it easier to control 👍. You have some patience for the peacock herl 🤬it never sits for me and has a mind of its own. Your SP cheeks are perfect👌.
Altogether a beautiful Carrie Stevens fly superbly tied.

Thanks buddy. I'm pretty happy with the result. The peacock herl was a pain in the butt. I need some better herl before I try it again.

Great video. I would like to see some Syd Glasso patterns. I live here in Washington State and really enjoy throwing more traditional patterns for Steelhead and Pacific Salmon.

Thanks Antonio! That's a great idea actually. I would be happy to do some Syd Glasso flies. I just got some nice Heron feathers I want to play with. I'll tie one in one of my next few videos!!

Where did you get them from? They are impossible to find here in the states and am struggling to find good subs. I mostly use schloppen for my Spey hackles or rump pheasant

There is a seller on ebay that has Heron hackles for sale.. he has different sizes and the price isn't bad. The blue eared pheasant i got from a friend who does estate sales and happened to get a 3/4 skin.
