Dude another great review! My dad and I still talk about the look of pure joy and excitement on your face when you were walking up their driveway and saw the Equator haha. Thank you so much again for doing this and the Mustang and I really hope to be able to work with you again!
A rare truck with less than 6,000 sold. There used to be one of these rolling around my area. Suzuki was just about dead in the US in 2012 but I guess they hoped they could save it with a weakly-rebadged truck. Except for the front end this is very clearly a Nissan Frontier, which was itself getting a bit dated in 2012. I like the orange gauge lighting as it was very easy on the eyes at night.
6:07 - the BEST part of that rail is the floor rails, which were GREAT for motorcycles. I loved that feature in my then-brand-new 2005 and bought another in 2012 for that rail system. Toyota had a similar system, but it wasn't in the floor.
Nissan frontiers are great reliable trucks. I personally owned one never had any problems with it, only had 131,000 miles but a lot of them last 400,000- 800,000 miles.
I have this exact truck in white. And in much better shape. When Suzuki announced they were leaving the US. I knew there was gonna be some good deals. Had a dealer 2k rebate and a 8k factory rebate. I got my new 2012 4x4 crew cab long bed equator for 24k. Been a great truck.
Remember when Suzuki made vehicles in the states, Pepperidge farm remembers lol. I remember the XL-7, Grand Vitara, Jimny, Verona, SX4. The Suzuki XL-7, Vitara and Grand Vitara were all V6 RWD suvs. I only heard about the Equator once, but wow, you found a very rare vehicle in the states!!
You mean the Jimny? Yeah, it looks good, affordable and could fit anywhere. Technically a Kei Truck/SUV, legally. Suzuki failed in America for largely the same reason that Mitsubishi is, now: their automatic transmissions were some of the worst in the industry, in terms of long-term reliability. If you get one with a manual, they’re fine, but most Americans don’t even know how, and even then, still you gotta change the oil religiously.
@G3n3ralN0ns3ns3 The only new stuff from Suzuki that we're able to see here in the US is the rare moment where one is brought in from Mexico. I screamed when I saw a current gen Jimny a couple months ago.
I saw Suzuki Equator cause 3 vehicle wreck on i95 and sended dashcam footage to wham baam dashcam. In the comment selection, people talk about how rare that truck was. Now I am here.
Hey Zack, this is crazy! I am on the hunt for a truck under $20K and I came across a 2012 Equator in my market, super good condition from what I see and only 60k miles on it. I’m about to test drive it. Is this a truck worth purchasing? It’ll be my all around vehicle but I don’t drive a ton these days and I’ll need it to last till at least 150K-200K miles. I live in the PNW but will mostly be driven on the road and for occasional camping and hiking trips. Is it a good truck to purchase considering Suzuki is not in production here anymore? A little concerned about repairs/costs. Thank you
Bought a Sport Long Bed (Black) brand new in 2011. Put a Four-Wheel Eagle Pop-Up on it and now I'm good to go near anywhere. It's not for sale. Engine is near bullet proof. Turning radius is ridiculously crappy, requiring a bit more Geometry then I care to put forth. That's about it on the negative side.
Zack l have to thank you for your review of this rebadge Nissan Navarra as the Suzuki Equator the biggest Suzuki ute ever l live in Australia and of course we have Suzukis here and a lot of them it wasn't the first Suzuki ute many years ago they had the Suzuki Stockman a small Jimny based ute and Suzuki has always had the Carry now the APV a small van also the Mercedes-Benz ute is a Nissan Navara with a fancy suit infact we have a Suzuki Beleno GLX and our son has a Suzuki Jimny a very popular 4X4 in Australia there is a two year waiting list fir them Suzuki can't build enough of them for the world and Suzuki doesn't need to sell cars in the USA they just sell to the rest of the world and they cheap but very good one if the top five Japanese car companies also there are rumors of another Suzuki Jimny ute both single cab and double cab ute there will be a Suzuki Jimny station wagon coming to Australia also the Suzuki Beleno built in the same factory has been rebadged the Toyota Starlet and in South Africa st least they have the choice of the Suzuki Beleno ir the Toyotas Starlet which l pleased about because you know Toyotas are famous for there reliability

Was it at a Neighbor’s house or something?

If you could find a Kizashi to review that would be great! It was actually well regarded in reviews when it was new
There is still a silver one driving around in the area I live
@jacoby99 I had a 2012 AWD Kizashi
HE DID IT!!!
I leased a 2010 for 2 years

Bro you think you get excited, I own that exact truck. Year, trim, color, exact thing. Imagine how excited I get when I drive past another one

Suzukis in other markets are mostly rebadged Toyotas, apart from a few models like the Vitara and Jimny. But they're doing pretty well nevertheless.
Especially In India, as India is a big market for Suzuki. A lot of Toyota models in India are rebaged Suzukis.
You did it before Doug Demuro! Lol

@shootingcars you manged to test drive you're first Suzuki congrats!
Better chance of being struck by lightning, than seeing this on the road 😂😂😂
Just got one as a replacement for my 98 frontier. It’s a 2WD 4Cyl Extended cab. Almost identical to my grandpa’s frontier
Never seen someone so excited to drive a rebadged Frontier
Suzuki equator I remember this oddity, dentists neighbor has one,was rather baffled to see the truck the first time
I hope you'll eventually come across both of the trucks Mitsubishi had sold here the Mighty Max and the Raider.
so glad you reviewed the truck, and that they let you :)

I love a Frontier. 🐉
I think the new Grand Vitara actually looks good! Wish we had it here

@@stoneylonesome4062 no I don’t mean the jimny
Still have my equator and grand Vitara both 2012
You know, this probably wouldn’t be a bad buy as a used vehicle. Since you can get Nissan Frontier parts for repairs.
Awesome to see a dead brand review. Cool it was basically a frontier.
Suzuki is definitely still alive in the eastern world.
@@bldontmatter5319 yes but automobile wise in America of course they are not around. Cool to see these reviews honoring such little gems.

@@DeenHoward I love seeing the Jimny in Asia. Can always dream of having that in the US.
@@G3n3ralN0ns3ns3got to ride in some when I cross trained with the Japanese defense force in the military. Fell in love with

Be on the lookout for an Isuzu Hombre, based on the late 90s S-10.
Technically the other way around.

And yes, I’m a fan of Suzuki. I would buy a Jimny over anything if I could. Can those be imported?
The 8' bed is interesting from an Australian point of view, we don't get them on our twin cab utes. But we also only got the Navara not a Suzuki ute
i wish you can review our suzukis, but 4900 miles from chile to usa are kinda a lot to drive hahaha
Your videos are so wholesome.
Try and review a Suzuki Jimmy. A cool little 4x4 suv.
Reminds me of when I had my 2006 Mitsubishi Raider. Kind of an oddball truck, really a Dodge Dakota in disguise 🥸
Never knew this and I have a Dakota lol

Need to find a Raider and an i350 now.
I was thinking about getting a 09 90k miles on it for 10k anyone own one and know if they last ?
I want Suzuki to bring the Jimny to the states but don’t start the price at 30k like jeep!

One week ago today, my car was reviewed here! ❤
What about the spare parts?
Listening to 5:50 “Suzuki key” over and over again.
I used to keep an eye out, hoping to find one of these for cheap. Never found one. :((
One near me for 3500 bucks
6:56 Yes, but do you get So Emotional Baby. Every time.. like Whitney Houston? Newark NJ's own.. Whitney Houston.
Suzuki really lost out on the truck market
Lets Review a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider Next!
Repeal the chicken tax! I WANT A BRAND NEW KEI TRUCK!
I have a suski sx4 small car very reliable fun car o drive 5 speed transmission well get up and go
Suzuki Kizazhi ❤ Suzuki Jimny ❤
Mercado equivocado, debió lanzarse en Latinoamérica, mal marketing, llegué a verla por casualidad en este video. No sabía de su existencia
So neat
the real suzuki truck was the SUZUKI CARRY a kei truck
I have a review of one of those on my channel as well!
I watch those too on your channel and plus I see them in my area
Worldwide Suzuki is a bigger car manufacture than Honda.
Cool 😀
I own a 2009
suzuki should've stuck to making just motorcycles
Sup
And its a pile of crap
