As a Christian I appreciate his heart for helping couples and singles in their walk with the Lord. As a Calvinist I feel anxiety when he claims that God, in a sense, does not have a plan for you, does not guide your footsteps and those of your future spouse till both paths converge. God has told us in His word that He has plans for us, He knows our steps and orchestrates our destinies. And so to say that our great omniscient God DOES NOT control our futures via His omnipotence hinders Him... limits His power and care. I greatly value these practical lessons but find these refrains disconcerting. If I am mistaken I rejoice, I simply wish God’s word proclaimed with clarity. Thank you Sacred Search for PURSUING faithfulness to God and His WORD.

If God gives us the choice to choose life or death Blessing or cursing, Him or Satan heaven or hell then surely everything else is a choice. He presents the choice much like a parent would if they met a person that they think would be good for their son or daughter. They would either mention it to them or try to set them up or orchestrate their meeting. But it's up to them. Any other way is not love WE MUST REMEMBER HE IS A FATHER, A DADDY A PARENT

For a longest time, I thought we have that one person made for us. How do you explain the Pastors who say a man was created with his wife on the inside ofor him hence God took out Eve out of Adam's rib, meaning that when he saw her he recognised her because she was part of his flesh and bone of his bones...
But You make sense too so I'ts a bit confusing somehow because I know a lot of these You Tube couples say God told them who their spouse is rather than them choosing for themselves.
But THANK YOU for this perspective

I believe that yeah we have the choice on who we marry, but it's important to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Someone might be a good choice from a Christian perspective, but the Holy Spirit knows our hearts better than anyone, so we need to seek His council. I don't believe there is A ONE. But I believe that there are multiple potential ONES that God can work out to still fulfill your calling with, and it's best to follow the Holy Spirit's leading. But it also depends on how much your life is surrendered to God. If you're going into ministry, you should really be careful who you marry, but if you are going to live on a farm for the rest of your life, it doesn't really matter as long as she has the Holy Spirit.
