I am impressed with how you two work for permanence instead of speed. New plumbing, not just repaired. Welded equipment not just bolted. Cement products, not plaster or gypsum. Not many people your age work like that. Don't ever change!
Ah thanks so much. We always build like we will live here forever. Maybe we do, maybe we don't but it has to be the best (at a reasonable price). Have a great weekend!
Simon and Braum, Something new I wanted to share; 2 new liqueur by Massenez. Liqueur De Roquefort; a blue cheese liqueur made from sheep’s milk. And, La Baguette; a Liqueur De Pain. Yep, liqueur made from baguettes. Made in France. Possibly something to try with new friends. I haven’t tried it so, please share the experience, when and/or after you do. Hope I spelled your names correctly? Please correct me.
Hi to you both from John in scotland.all my friends and family call me Ian .I have been enjoying your videos and how you solve problems and commited you both are to your projects .you must be both so excited awaiting your daughter's birth . I was. Watching a visiting castles .if you ever get round to visiting Scotland we have 1500 castles a lot are still full working castles open to the public . Glad your getting your earthmover all the best to you both keep safe xx
I am always so eager to see an update from you two. I adore the loving teasing that comes through the vlog between you. Your daughter will be a lucky little girl having two such fun loving dads. Your baby’s room is looking wonderful well done. Take your time guys your baby won’t know if everything is finished for several months so don’t wear yourselves out ❤️❤️❤️ Now I have to wait another week sigh 😂 cheers Chris Australia🇦🇺🇦🇺
Thank you for sharing your videos with us. I am really enjoying watching the progress on the house. It is such fun to watch your interactions with each other. Can’t wait to meet your baby girl.❤️❤️❤️❤️
For me the awesome elements of your vlog, aside from the hardwork of learning as you go, is the warmth between you two, and the excitement about your child.
Bram, that floor for Baby's room is gorgeous, and the picture frame molding beneath the chair rail, all in that beautiful blue, adds so much visual interest that it was well worth the effort. Whenever I've been to Europe, I've always been in cities. Big mistake. Impressive as the urban areas are, the countryside is spectacularly beautiful, especially in springtime. Every Friday I find myself craving a baguette, thanks to you. France is beautiful, but I'd move there just for the food. Everything tastes better there.
Thanks so much! We love how the floor turned out! ah thanks so much. We love the rural France. It's just amazing to drive through the beautiful scenery. We've been to a lot of cities but always love to come back to the countryside. Have a great weekend!
Sure! The village is beautiful, I try to take some different routes through the village so you see more of it but a tour should be possible :) Thanks so much.
Just some food-for-thought. A soft shade of yellow in the room the baby's room works well with the blue and it makes it unisex so if your second child is a boy you don't have to repaint. You could even have a soft yellow on the walls and then have someone paint a mural over it. Thanks for the time taken to film, edit, and post for all of us.
Hi from Gothenburg, Sweden💙💛! I don't think I've commented before. Been watching your videos since you bought the farm. Wonderful content, love your way of filming - and editing. The ongoing friendly banter between the two of you leaves a big smile. Congratulations on the expanded land area, and the tractor's big brother. Those wooden strips you put on the walls, I think it's called decorative mouldings in English. That baby room is going to look fab! Cosy and warm!! Impressive skills you both have, and what a transformation in this short time!!!
Thanks for letting us know. I'm very grateful for so many kind and positive people like yourself with us on this journey! Thanks and I hope you have a lovely weekend!
The little girl will have a beautyful room, with two loving and caring Dads, two fluffy friends herding her wherever she goes and grandparents vis à vis to spoil her rotten.. Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland.
I have to leave a message. Again, I love your episodes and of course, those pups. Additionally, I would love to see an episode on how you two met. That would be very cool. 😊😊
Ah thanks so much. We are planning to tell more about all that when we are back in The Netherlands for our daughter! So stay tuned! haha. Have a great weekend!
What a beautiful room for your daughter. I am impressed, and I enjoy the calm and positive way you are doing all the things. Greetings from Germany and perhaps we’ll meet somewhen in the future. Take care and i will be here again next week 😘🌞👍🍀🌈🌈
A drop down saw? I think i know what u mean and Im with Bram - u definitely need another electric tool! U have “hardly any” electric tools at all!😂 Another great week and absolutely love ur daughters bedroom - the floor looks amazing. Looking forward to seeing u use your new toy next week.
I think we need a lot more views and supporters for our vlog before we can buy more tools haha. We are in love with the baby room! See you next week! Thanks!
Another awesome week for the boys. The yellow beetle will be a good addition to the team. Love the colour of your daughter’s room. You should paint different colour balloons on the top. Keep smiling.
Your daughters room turned out very nice. The decorative trim really dresses up the room and the floor looks fabulous. Can't wait to see what you do next.
You are doing a great job. The jobs are getting done. Glad you are getting a bigger tractor and equipment as you have quite a large piece of land. Best wishes.
I watch a few pods but yours is my favorite by far. Can't wait to see the finished bathroom and the new toy/equipment. Hugs from Barney in Pennsylvania.
The Dutch must be like the Brits, we moan about cool wet weather all the time, then we have one or two hot days and moan about that too 😄.Certainly a lot achieved this week, well done.
Ah thanks! We were thinking about adding wallpaper! Haha I don't think our daughter will be mad about the color. (btw we bought it before we knew it would become our daughter's room) Have a great day!
Is 'jig' the word for the machine? I only know the word 'wheel loader' but in every language I know the word is confusing for people. And the machine isn't that common in every day use haha. Take care.
I want to be first to make a reservation to stay in your apartments. How amazing to see all of your renovations in person (while eating that bakery bread!) Maybe that wall decoration is a form of wainscoting? It really dresses up the room, altho I’m surprised you didn’t paint it pink. Hahaha More property, more heavy equipment, baby on the way… thats a lot of potatoes! Keep it up
Hello Simon and Bram. The timber rail/dowel in English/Australian is called a Dado, and in French it would be called a Plinthe. The bedroom is looking lovely. So nice that you have plans to create accommodation/income from your farm in such a picturesque part of the world. Are you still living in your van or are you making do in the house? I'm guessing the next renovation would be a kitchen? Kind regards, Stuart
Oh thanks so much. I've got a lot of words for it but I didn't know that one. We love the baby room so much! We can't wait to start with the apartments. We've got so many ideas for them and we can't wait to open to our first guests! Yeah we do live/sleep in our van but we don't mind that at all. First the bedrooms and bathroom. Maybe the separate toilet and office after that. but I thinks it wil be simultaneous with the kitchen indeed! Have a great weekend Stuart!
I have been watching the restoration of your French home. It is beautiful.…Your daughter’s room is going to look fabulous. We live Pennsylvania of USA. I wish the weather was not so raining but you can’t help it. Will see you next Vlog.
The strip around the wall is called in English a Dado or Daydo rail, it it was higher up the wall it would be a picture rail for hanging picture from. They used to be used extensively in older UK houses I would say before the middle of last century and especially in large Victorian houses. Nice one guys an dI love that shade of blue.
My Apt. in NYC, building built in 1884, has both beadboard wainscoting and a picture rail still intact. The beadboard is a misery to paint and finding picture rail hooks was a challenge. 😊
I"m finally catching up on watching the older videos. You really are making progress on the house.. I saw that huge smile on Bram's face at the beginning of this video and I thought.....Something big is in the works!! Have a great, productive week and in the process, take a little time to have some fun!!
Learning the machine will be a challenge, at times. That extra part turning gives a new dimension to what you’re used to. Learn away from tight spots first. Enjoy!!!!!
We've had the exact same wheel loader before so we know it pretty well already. Thats why we wanted this one :) It's something completely different from the mini tractor haha. Thanks!
Thanks for my weekly fix. Envious that I am 30 years younger. I would love to tackle a project like yours. Did it once with a 18C stone cottage in Derbyshire, England. But the land would have been great.
I should have said 30 years older. We decided to replaster the lounge but when we removed the old plaster, the stone wall we uncovered was beautiful and included a candle hole. The floor boards were original C1792 and the joist. Instead of plasterboard for the exterior walls we used a plasterboard with a foam lining. It made a huge difference to the warmth of the room/house. My husband and I don't live there anymore. We got towards retirement and wanted somewhere warm. So we now live in Benidorm Spain. Let me know when your Gites are available?
5 hours across France! That sounds like a good portion. I remember being shocked that it only took 4 hours from Edinburgh to London with thousands of places to visit in between. In the US Midwest you can drive for 4 hours and not find anything worth stopping for.
Haha Europe is completely different from the US. So many amazing places here! A castle around every corner. England is amazing too! Have a great weekend!
Another great video guys - please take care of yourselves and not constantly overdo it - Bram looks VERY tired - you are making great progress - but keep in mind balancing work, rest, and relaxation - your daughter needs two healthy dads!
Thanks so much. Yeah we forget that sometimes but we do like the renovation too so it’s not bad but having some time off is also important :) Thanks and have a great weekend!
Everything is looking SO beautiful, guys. You and the baby girl and the pups are going to have a wonderful place to live. Can I rent one of the apartments? 😄
In the end we hope to move out of the van before our little girl arrives. Not because we don't like the Van, we love it, but it will be more practical.... Thanks! Take care.
Fijn weekend!
You two are doing great. It's been nice to watch you through the process of rebuilding. Do you know what color the outside of the house will be? Or are you keeping it as it is? Looking forward to the next video.😊
Thanks! Although painting the outside of the house isn't something we see ourselves doing in the next month we are thinking about using the same (or almost the same) color as it is now. To honor the history of the building. See you next week. Take care!
It is looking good guys, the floor has come up really well, I dread to think what Simon will be getting up to when the new toy arrives.. will we ever see him again 🤣🤣🤣... looks like it has a lot off attachments that will assist you with all your projects... hopefully there will be a plough or cultivator amongst them to prepare some ground for planting next year especially now you have more land.. Have a good weekend and look forward to see next weeks progress Robb Torremolinos Spain xxx
Hi Robb! I can't wait for the new toy!!!!!!!!! haha. unfortunately its not possible to mount things behind a wheel loader. It's for lifting and digging :) But we've got a cultivator for the mini tractor! Thanks so much. have a great weekend!
I am impressed with how you two work for permanence instead of speed. New plumbing, not just repaired. Welded equipment not just bolted. Cement products, not plaster or gypsum. Not many people your age work like that. Don't ever change!

Sure! The village is beautiful, I try to take some different routes through the village so you see more of it but a tour should be possible :) Thanks so much.
Your thumbnail photo is wonderful! Two gentlemen farmers creating a home and a life. And handsome as well!
Ah thank you very much. Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Haha thanks. but we still don't like it. Have a great weekend!
Your welcome! And, thanks for the correction; much appreciated. Can’t wait for new toy video…

Awesome job on the babies room and the tiling in the bathroom. Love the new toy😉👍👏🇨🇦💕🌈🌈
We can't wait for the new toy to arrive! Thanks so much. Have a great weekend.
Great toy buying. Wise decision to purchase the land. Expert painting. Great tiling Well done and not a leak in sight 👏👏👏
Haha no leak is the best! We were very happy we were able to purchase the 'road'. Thanks and take care.

Dado rail if you fit it low down on the wall, picture rail if it's high up and beading or framework for the rest lol. 👍
Oh the name also depends on how high we place it. haha. Crazy things. Thanks.
it is truly amazing how this house is evolving with every little bit of works you guy personally put together.
Thanks so much! Take care.
Another awesome week for the boys. The yellow beetle will be a good addition to the team. Love the colour of your daughter’s room. You should paint different colour balloons on the top. Keep smiling.

The baby’s room looks great!
Thanks so much! We already love it! Take care.
The blue wainscot wall is beautiful. Good job.

Your daughters room turned out very nice. The decorative trim really dresses up the room and the floor looks fabulous. Can't wait to see what you do next.
Thanks so much. We love the baby room! It feels very French haha. Have a great weekend!
Her room looks very nice. Thank you for not painting it pink.
Thanks so much. we love the color! Take care.
But why dark blue ???
@@kennethrush9363 Because blue and white has a high contrast. Babies don't see very well so high contrast is the best for her :)
You are doing a great job. The jobs are getting done. Glad you are getting a bigger tractor and equipment as you have quite a large piece of land. Best wishes.
We can't wait to play around with the new machine haha. Thanks! Have a great weekend.
congrats with the new tractor 👍

In New England, USA, it is called a chair rail.
Some just use bead board or even wall paper as the contrasting element ,not blue in a girls room.
Ah thanks! We were thinking about adding wallpaper! Haha I don't think our daughter will be mad about the color. (btw we bought it before we knew it would become our daughter's room) Have a great day!

It is hardwood. Very old and very thick! Thanks!

That is a much needed addition or big brother to the tractor! That will help so much it’s a shame you have to wait for it.
Oh waiting for stuff and especially tools is the worst! haha. Hopefully next week:) Thanks and take care.

Yeah we forget that sometimes but we do like the renovation too so it’s not bad but having some time off is also important :)
Thanks and have a great weekend!
you're much better dog walkers than painters.
We at least enjoy it a lot more haha. Thanks.
What you are putting in your daughters wall is called PICTURE FRAMING!
We love it a lot. I think the French use it a lot. Have a great weekend!
Everything is looking SO beautiful, guys. You and the baby girl and the pups are going to have a wonderful place to live. Can I rent one of the apartments? 😄
Thanks so much! We are very happy with all the progress. Of course you can. But it won’t be ready before 2026 haha.
Have a great weekend!
Keep on like this and you will be able to move out of the van .
In the end we hope to move out of the van before our little girl arrives. Not because we don't like the Van, we love it, but it will be more practical.... Thanks! Take care.
And it's yellow !
By the way, en français on dit : une moulure ou des moulures.
Haha yeah! Ah merci beaucoup!
@@vangaze You're welcome.
And change nothing, You're funny 😁
Ah thanks for saying that!
Take care!
I understand I'm all about keeping the original as much as possible.
That is a nice decorating touch in your daughter’s room. Wondering if you plan to leave the other wall area in the room white?
We have no idea yet tbh. We just do something haha. And I came across a nice shade of blue so decided to make a blue wall. Thanks! Take care.
Bravo boys for another great week. enjoy your weekend, we are on a holiday weekend in Canada Victoria Day. Jeffrey & Mario
Hi Jeffrey and Mario! Enjoy your vacation! Thanks so much. See you next week!
The long strip of nice edging wood is called "molding" in English.
Ah strange word but thanks! Take care.
❤❤❤
I believe what you are trying to say is :"wayne coding" 😊
Oh haven't heard that one! thanks! Have a great weekend.
'wainscoting' of lambrizering, het ziet er heel mooi uit !
Haha dankjewel. We hadden even geen idee. Maar ook niet in het Nederlands. Fijn weekend!
We hate painting too!!
Haha it's a terrible job to do! Take care.
Have a good weekend and look forward to see next weeks progress
Robb Torremolinos Spain xxx
Hi Robb! I can't wait for the new toy!!!!!!!!! haha. unfortunately its not possible to mount things behind a wheel loader. It's for lifting and digging :) But we've got a cultivator for the mini tractor! Thanks so much. have a great weekend!
Or sometimes called wainscotting
Thanks! have a great weekend.
Love a market. Those olives looked sooo good
The market is amazing. but there were so many people!
classic wainscoting, wall molding, lambris classique, o klassieke lambrisering
Oh there are a lot of names for it! Thanks.
