Simon should add a tangent timer to all videos he posts on this channel. The ratio of tangent time to runtime could be used as a quality metric. You, the viewer, would be the one to decide what that metric actually means. Whatever Simon thinks would merely be tangential, and irrelevant.
One of the reasons I respect Simon so much is because he gives his writers credit. You'd be surprised how many creators hire a writer and never admit to it. Also, even tho the editor keeps making fun of him for the tangents, who else would think it would be weird af to see a brain blaze video without Simon's tangents? It's half the reason i watch them.

Really! The mold is concerning enough. Swallowing a small amount of toothpaste is generally safe, but consuming too much increases the fluoride levels in your blood, causing nausea and vomiting. (I know from experience, it was a dare.)

Oh, I never explained the dark web mystery boxes I was going to sell in the script? Really thought I did. Short version is this:
I was still working as a butcher at the time that I fell into the dark web unboxing rabbit hole. This meant that I had access to a LOT of blood, body parts (even if they weren't human bodies), and an entire room where the floor, walls, and ceiling were covered in fresh blood. Not to mention the bloody band saw. It would have been really easy for me to put something cool together, and part of me wishes I did because I think I could have terrified some people.

Kevin, I’m 100% with you. Pranks aren’t funny.
I think they definitely can be, my personal favourite was when voice activation tech was just becoming a thing and a friend of mine put ‘voice activated’ signs on things. Our other friends would try it a couple times before realising they had been got, even I got taken in! You feel like a bit of a tit for a second but you have to laugh at yourself for something like that (and usually go get a different friend to come try it).
Pranks are only funny when they’re funny for everyone. You prank friends you know will find it funny and will laugh with you, or you do something like using a comically large phone whilst walking down the street because that’s not harming anyone, but people get a bit of a laugh at your expense, no one else’s.
‘Pranks’ on UA-cam aren’t pranks. They’re cruel and unfunny. The people who are the victims aren’t laughing along. That’s not a prank that’s just harassment.
Every time Simon compliments a short intro, I feel like it's a dig at Danny. And sometimes I'm pretty sure Danny writes extra long intros just to spite Simon.
Oh, that's not a feeling, that's just the truth. Well, Danny might just find it fun as hell to annoy Factboi with long intros rather than spite but still.
The more Simon compliments the other intros, the longer Danny's get & the more space he claims in the Blazement.

I worked at a warehouse that processed Amazon's customer returns. I personally processed thousands upon thousands of different items, and I think that my overall favorite was an obviously worn adult 3XL sized Chinese school girl "play outfit". If you are wondering how I could tell that it had been previously worn, it was because the formally white socks that were part of the outfit were now black on the bottom and absolutely covered with hair and the hair looked like hair that wasn't necessarily from a persons head {if you know what I mean}. If you want to buy a pallet, do so at your own peril. You have been warned. Oh, yeah, Amazon does sell dildos, but that's a story for another time.

I'm not generally a fan of pranks at all but one that I remember was where a guy went into a port-a-potty and the pranksters built an office around him. He walked out of the potty and into what looked like a meeting full of people in suits watching a presentation given by a "coworker". It was funny. Those are the kinds of pranks I like. I think lying to people about stuff like the lottery is mean, but putting someone in a very low risk unexpected situation is funny.
I think Kevin is narrowing in on the topics that cause the biggest tangents and we're going to get a script that's one page long but every word leads to a five minute tangent. Shine on Maestro!
Kevin and Simon both need to watch "Just For Laughs: Gags". Its a Canadian prank show that not only never stooped to the lows of modern pranks but in fact were actually so funny that even the person being pranked would be laughing at the pranks reveal. There is no prank content to exist the ever even came close to the caliber of this show. I miss it dearly.

Here in the uk we had game for a laugh and beadles about. Both fronted by mr beadle, a smug twat with a deformed hand whos pranks were more about humiliating people than anything joyus. The show ended when an old guy stabbed one of the actors when he came home to find his garden being wrecked by a fake oil company iirc.
Horrible show and you would think people would take lessons from this, but no, you get pricks like the guy who barges into peoples houses for the lolz (who im amazed hasnt got the shit kicked out of him yet).
I hated that show. Hands down the worst media ever filmed in Canada.

Me too, With pranking friends I would say ....not pranking about something that taps into someone's ptsd triggers ... insecurities or something they care about very deeply and with strangers you have no way knowing that and one should be that much more careful to not cause really strong negative feelings.

Some people are literal. They might find a prank mildly funny but find other types of humor like slapstick more funny. A lot of people doing pranks might be doing them on unsuspecting people (like that guy who got shot because he wouldnt leave some guy alone) which is where its not funny. If youre part of a group that pranks each other than sure those videos could be funny.

The crowning achievement of my shenanigan carrier was giving my friend a fake parking ticket while she was parked in the poorly regulated area outside the starbucks where I worked. I printed off some blank till tape and wrote 'SURPRISE = D' inside. I got absolutely cussed out for giving her a heart attack but she also thought it was an absolutely legendary move and we are still laughing about it almost 10 years later.

Also reaction videos with comments that make you seek out the original to watch are good and can even be endorsed by the original if they are just one part of a long lineup of content. Some indie creators get propelled big time by UA-camrs with influence. Of course if all you do is stream you watching it is bad and does not drive people to seek out the original

As a fan of boxxxy I am surprised that I totally missed out on the early Poppy craze. My life was rather tumultuous during her early years but you have at last brought her to my attention. I didn't get to finish this video until days later after I spent enough time going down the Poppy rabbit hole. She is really something else.

We spent years harassing Simon into watching The Princess Bride and he finally did. Go back a couple years and you'll find his review of it and though he did his typical "jaded millennial poopoo" of it you could also see that he genuinely did like a lot of it. And I get the sense that with each subsequent watching he'll be falling deeper and deeper in love with it cause somewhere in that black little lump of coal where Simon's heart should be there's a nerd just DYING to crawl out of the closet.
Simon is perfect as is.
I do actually like the reaction channels in which a group of people watch movies or television shows, and they usually have interesting conversations about the movies or television shows. Of course the quality of these channels vary significantly, and there are some that qualify as the “low effort” category.
But Danny's super long intros are one of the best things about BB, its like Simons tangents, they're part of the charm!

The best prank I ever did, I had to travel several hours to the nearest branch of my bank to make a deposit since there wasn’t one close to me due to getting out of the military. My mom had given me a check to deposit iirc, which I did, but instead of immediately heading home, I stopped by some distant relatives’ house to visit. I had to call my mom to let her know that I would be late returning home, but instead I had the bright idea to scare the shit out of her. I called my mom, and instead of saying that I had deposited the check and all was well, I told her that I had cashed it, bought a bunch of cocaine and a hooker, and that the hooker had OD’d and died. I was panicking and saying “Oh, God, Mom! I don’t know what to do! She isn’t moving!”. My mom panicked and told me not to call the cops, clean up and get the fuck out of there. I had this whole interaction on speaker and was sitting with my cousin who didn’t know I was going to do this. My cousin was absolutely gobsmacked at what was going on, but when my mom said to not call the cops and leave, she lost it and busted out laughing. As soon as my mom figured out it was a joke, she called me several new names that I had never heard of before and said that I almost gave her a heart attack. Good times!😂

When my friends get together and hang out, if someone says they need to go to the bathroom. I will get their attention and try to hold it for as long as possible, without actually saying anything, and when I feel I'm losing them I slowly say, you should go to the bathroom. Bonus if someone else realizes what I'm doing and beats the first to the bathroom.
