hey mate, we have done a fair bit of traveling to Milparinka and Tibooburra
detecting over the years in our Commander traveling in comfort and safety, now we are putting our Commander up for
sale, it is a great vehicle, reliable and safe, we have avoided caravan parks
like a plague, we had the freedom of so many places that are hard to reach with
the peace and quiet that comes with it, found plenty of good gold and also fished some amazing
places. if you want to see a video on it visit UA-cam and search for: 4x4
motor home SLRV Commander , you will notice the new paint job and we have made
a few upgrades, if you are interested contact us and do an inspection, you will
    not be disappointed😁

Good to see tibo giving up some more of its colour. The real gold out there is the location and the scenery it has to offer. At times the sunsets our out of this world. Well done guys.

Very enjoyable and thanks for sharing. I'd like to go out to tibooburra region and do some dry panning, crevicing and blow tubing. I don't own a metal detector. Are you able to recommend which direction and distance to go from tibooburra as it is such a vast area and with limited time it could take up a lot of time to figure it out if I don't know where I'm going. Any help greatly appreciated.

As you say, it's a vast area. For your kind of activity, working in and around the many dry watercourses would be the way to go, and there are many of those, from close to town to many ks out. Best to just drive around and explore. Permits are required wherever you go - available from the local store.

@@joc1862 thankyou Sir. I had been thinking that exact same thing. My research has indicated to the west of town around the granites and hilly area's with dry gullies and also around milparinka would be worth exploring.
I have this method in dry dirt in which I use a large wide shallow tub and shovel in one scoop of dirt, shake and strew it vigorously, allowing the heavies to fall to the bottom whilst carefully scraping off the higher dirt and discarding it.
Ultimately after several hours you are left with a lower level of concentrate to finally pan off.

@@neilstleon6251 Yes, your research is correct - most of the gold areas are west ot town. Your 'dry panning' method sounds good and I used a similar form of it myself for gold exploration when I was young enough to cope with the hard work.
