@@K03sport Seven miles round trip. Drive about 120 miles each week, I charge about every five days for free at work. I have paid $0 to “drive” this car!
People are missing the point of this car. It's like saying you can fit less stuff in a Gucci handbag than in a gym bag so it's worse somehow - it's supposed to be small, stylish and expensive, not practical.
Nice city/urban choice as a 2nd car with the option to go on some longer drives as long as there are charging stations along the route. I have been running a 2016 Chevy Spark EV for the last 4 years, which is marginally longer but has 4 doors to a more accessible rear seats that can house adults for shorter trips. The Sparks epa range is only 82 miles on it's 19kW battery, but for my uses it's sufficient. What I really enjoy is it's 0-60 less than 8secs which is a true grin generator as you leave typical traffic behind so while the 500e has more update features I'd still want a quicker car. GM was ahead of the curve with the Spark EV and especially the 2nd gen Volt. Waiting on the Kia EV3 as it seems to be a nice step up from bothe the Spark EV , both gen Leafs and the 500e.
My close friend has 500e, and she loves it. It's such a beautiful 😊, quiet, and convenient car, and a very reasonable choice for those who live in dense cities such as NYC, Boston, DC, SF, Seattle, and ...). Most of haters haven't seen, took ride or drive the new fiat 500 or 500e.
As a former 500 owner and current EV owner, I really wish this thing were $5k cheaper, if not more. It just doesn’t stack up against the Equinox EV for the money.
@@flyingphoenix113I honestly think the price is justified. The Leaf doesn’t go as far and has far less standard equipment and is only a few thousand less. The Mini is in the same price range. I think it’s just a shock because of how cheap the old 500 was
$26,095 after rebates and incentives. $294/mo lease with $0 down for 36mo and 10k miles/yr. Opinions may vary, but I think that’s still too high. Picking one up used maybe (if they’re reliable enough).
@@Andrew8126 I leased mine for $49 a month with $0 down, only taxes and license is what I paid. But that’s a local deal here. But these have been out in Europe since 2020, and they’ve been successful, so I think it’s just so new and the initial “sticker” price gets people… but it’s really not bad when you actually look into it
@@Andrew8126 I think that’s why Fiat does these crazy lease deals, and then buy it out when you’re done or pick one up used. There is absolutely a place for this car. And if you’re looking at it from a pure value point, you’re missing the point of the Fiat 500. They’re quirky and instantly get attention. They don’t blend in at all 🙂
Most clueless Americans won’t “get” this car, loving their Neanderthal hulking pickup trucks. (I own a Raptor…..and a Smart, understanding both vehicles ). It’ll sell in L.A. (let’s be honest, 60% of sales will be California), Seattle, Portland, Miami, and a bit in the Northeast cities. 🤷🏼♂️
The form factor is nice, small cars are nice but The older electric 500's had very short lived batteries with no practical replacement options. The idea of having to toss away an entire car because a battery died is anti-consumer in the extreme.
There are garages all over the world that could take the old battery out and install a better one easily. They are doing it with old Nissan leafs and other cars. But EVs are now suffering a anti EV campaign plus the bad management from the car makers don't let these old crappy range cars become better.
@2.3_44XD-- I hope you are correct, I watched the Episode of hovies gararge where they fixed an electric 500 with some "arts and crafts" hack from a 3rd party. I also considered buying a Mitsubishi I miev as a 2nd car until I found out a replacement battery is only made by a single mom and pop 3rd party and costs $10,000. Having a decade old car depend on a hacked solution from a non OEM is too much of an enthusiast move for me. I really hope there is some standardization and open sourcing of batteries because they are really posioning the EV waters.
It’s not just Fiat, it’s Stellantis as a whole. Pushing useless, overpriced EVs and jacking up the costs of Jeeps and Rams to unsustainable levels. I work at a CDJR dealership and have seen firsthand how ill-received even the hybrid models have been, not to say anything of the EV models.
when is there going to be a "Fiat 500 Cup" racing series? It works for the Miata/Mx-5, so I could see it work for fiat too. build brand awareness through brand exposure and what better exposure than racing...look how many Camries Toyota sells because of NASCRA...er, NASCAR
I’m loved my 2012 Fiat with 54,000 miles til we brought it in for service and found so much under rot .. a hole as big as a football and found the whole underneath is rotting.. made in Germany that year and not enough undercoat.. parts won’t be available next year.. BIG disappointment.. beware of 2012-2016.. and we thought this lil Italian piece of shit was made in Germany.. huh? 🤬
This is a nice car for the young female buyer under age 30 that historically bought a VW Beetle or maybe even a base Audi TT. The “cute” factor is there so way better than a base Tesla model 3 which are now so common ghetto people are driving them and they have crash damage, covered in dirt, and some always use paper tags to avoid paying for registration or insurance. Lease payments are not too bad for what it is and no, this is not some car you buy at age 25, take out of daily service by 35, keep in garage as weekend car for the next 30 years, and then drive around during retirement to find that feeling young experience when driving it. It is best leased and the second owner may get use out of it until it hits 8-10 years old.
Honestly. Who’s interested in one. I don’t even know the price but I can tell you with 100% certainty the price is the biggest off putter for these smaller ev’s. Regardless fiat 500’s are a gimmick Just like the smarts were.
@@nickb5417don’t confuse this with all Fiat 500s. The 500C was a pretty successful hit when it re-launched here - sold around 50k/year at its peak. Nice little car for urban/suburban routes, with a small but peppy engine. This EV version is just laughably overpriced and will be lucky to sell 1,000 units next year.
I love my 24’ 500e! Have it as a second runaround commuter car. With the rebates and Fiat incentives, I leased it for $49 a month
how long/far is your "commute"?

How did you negotiate that lease rate? It is advertised at $199 for 3 yrs on their website.
@@AngelSapundzhiev It's a rate set by the dealer here in Denver. Denver Fiat set their own rate, with approval from Stellantis.

They should have made it a convertible, this would be a fun condo car
I rented the 500 off of turo. The car is amazing! Something else to consider over a motorcycle.
I notice that you have not bought one.
@mikek5298 I think that I'm more happy with it being a weekend rental than a driveway diamond.
you haven't found the right motorcycle. I'll take a Honda Grom over the 500e all day, every day, rain 🌧️ or shine 🌞
I used to work at Enterprise and drove everything. The gas versions I drove were terrible. Awful controls, slow, and even as newer cars, always broke.
This makes more sense than a 500hp, three row Kia EV. A electric runabout grocery getter.
Not at nearly $35k, though. If they had priced this below $20k, it could have been a huge hit in urban/suburban markets.
Once again, don't buy one! It's for people that want one because it's a specific buyer!
@@kevintaylor9912 I won’t, don’t worry. The trouble for Stellantis is that no one else in the US will buy one, either. 😆

The perfect city car, but not for 34-38k. Nobody will pay that much for what it offers, especially the low range.
Fiat may need to bring to the US a hybridized 500 as hybrids (and plug-ins) rather than full blown EVs are now the rage.
Someone should tell these automakers that It is possible for an electric car to have and analog instument cluster, you can trust me, I'm an engineer.
$24,999-29,999 should have been the better pricing to entice the right buyer, for this little guy.
