So correct about cheap led globes. I do lots of night driving in the country areas of WA. So many cars coming towards you blind you. I have had to run off the road being blinded a few times. Good quality led globes work well.
even if you take it to a "professional" or a shop, a lot of the times they don't do it right. please check your lights in general! then remember lower cars get blinded by your lights as well, even if your lights are correct so give them more distance! I wish there was a love reaction for this video.
Good info as usual Anthony, I have been through the miss aligned headlight saga... and pro's normally get the work experience kid to do it, very frustrating when your vehicle goes back 3 times.
Just to add for the newer Prado 150's with auto leveling headlights, you need to extend the level sensor link by about 10mm on the rear drivers side suspension arm to level the headlights out.
It's not so much that the blinding globes are crappy, it's the fact that they are designed to be used in projectors, but people are putting them in reflectors that are formed for halogen globes.
My 2018 GXL has sealed headlights (that cost ~$1.5K each to replace) and are controlled by individual computers (that cost near $1K each). When I got a lift the automatic headlight level sensor arm, mounted at the rear of the vehicle, adjusted the beam upwards. The 2" lift made the sensor register that the rear had gone up. It doesn't know about the front lift. Therefore it adjusts the beam up.
Good point didn't think about that myself.dont think is a issue with my pathinder as the rear is slightly higher than front with the Dobinson lift.may affect some cars though.👍
Thought it was just me being a grumpy bastard n getting old the amount of blinding headlights out there is unbelievable bloody hate driving at night now.
Do you adjust the high beams or low beams? What gives me the pip is drivers who don't dip their lights early enough (particularly those who have fancy sun-bright driving lights) and those who go back to high beams before they have finished passing. Inconsiderate, selfish, and dangerous.

Great Vid ant, I think later model gxl + have auto adjust. My 2010 is manual like yours.
The 2018+ GXLs and up don't have the headlight adjustment dial. But easy enough to adjust using the method you described.

Do your home work anthony my 2019 gxl is auto led and pretty sure the adjustment is on the rear diff and after a lift you can get an extended arm

Don't know about the others but the Kak is auto levelling
Nope the vx and above don't... you need to lengthen the arm.
Gxl is mine special. The led replacements are illegal
Reflector
¼ turn for every 40kg cargo behind the rear axle 😂
Absolutely, cheap or expensive lights are killing people. And poorly adjusted lights.
First!
