Good concept. I think you'd burn through the kayak cart wheels. The axles in those are not made to take the heat that's going to build up by towing it.
Pretty much the same idea I had for a piece of left over 2"x4"x12" pine and leftover 1/4" x 20 x 3" bolts and nylon insert washers, and paracord. Cost: about 30 minutes of my time. An upcoming upgrade will be routing to trim down the board to slide into my TopPeak bike rack. I might get creative and 3D print the latching mechanism so I don't even need bolts.
Neat idea, but would definitely use an inexpensive bike you wouldn't miss too much. Unfortunately, a thief would get through a cable quickly and be off with the bike and kayak cart.
I have made my own kayak trailer for a mountain bike. Orange Triangle reflectors on left and right side. With bmx tires. Working on putting it all on a go cart in future.
Actually, not. If the parking at the launch is crowded, you can park away from it and tow your kayak in. Also, for folks who live close to a launch, they do not have to worry about parking at all.
Invention??? This is ,at best, a hack . I think calling this n invention is stretching it a bit 🤪. I think a trip to Home Depot or Lowe’s and maybe 20.00 it would be a useful and simple “hack”. No disrespect intended whatsoever. I think I’d like to have a day to fish where they are. Thank you for sharing…
Respectfully, I'm going to agree and disagree at the same time. Though this could be described as a hack, I believe most (maybe nearly all) inventions could be described that way. If I were to look back at the various hacks on the multiple kayak hack channels, I believe a number of those hacks could be monetized and marketed if the creator wanted to do that. This particular setup won't work for us as our kayak is too large and heavy for it. But for anyone who doesn't want to go through the DIY process, I think buying a product is a reasonable alternative.
Good information. My goal is to tow my kayak with my bike long distance and then mount my bike to the back of my kayak.

I guess it depends on how far you go.
I've had this idea for doing solo runs down a river so I can leave the bike to get back to the truck with the kayak.

Sounds awesome!
so i nead aluminium pipe some blots and piec paracord or 3/8 rope. Easy to make fiew holses and i already have whels ! thanks for great tip.
Good luck!
I used a peace of wood with 3 boults two for fixing the peace of wood and one at the end to fix the towing strap and it worked like a deam
Great idea! Thanks
Good question about legal issues. Is it or is it not a trailer? But it makes a lot of sense and should work just fine.
I wouldn't imagine its much if any different than one of those kid trailers you can get.

That is a dilemma. I have been looking at bike locks. Do you have one you recommend?
I’ve seen tow bars for kayaks that act as “mules” for hauling a load while on the water.
Interesting. Do you have a link?
Great video but you need reflectors on your trailer And an Orange triangle cause you are moving very slowly .possibly

I agree... and check local laws as well
Way way way to much time spent on everything except the product.
Sorry about that
That was a waste

I agree with @2reelyakrz
