- On 02 Jun 1999 Captain PV VIKRAM, 141 Field Regiment was performing the assignment of Forward Observation Officer in direct support of 4th Battalion The Jat Regiment at KAKSAR a Border out post at a height of 17500 ft in Kargil Sector OP-VIJAY.The Battalion was assaulting on to the Pakistan Bunkers along with Captain PV Vikram leading through the fire barrage when he was hit by an Enemy Artillery shell splinter. He succumbed to the injury on the spot.
I'm paying my tribute with my tears and respect. RIP my hero. Never forget your sacrifice my brother.long live in our memories.
