The play at 3:10 was surprising to me. William was so ahead on tempo and if he attacked base with Sabine (and not use the heroic resolve) he would either grab the initiative token and get another 5 damage minimum to base or force Ryan to waste 7 damage (and Poe would only be able to kill one in this case). By putting the heroic resolve Ryan could just claim and only waste 3 damage.
He could have put the Heroic Resolve and then claimed the initiative. Then he could use two resources on the next attack and gain +4 attack for 8 before the Poe Ambush.
I do not understand the move on game 2 when the player on the left takes back his marine to play his space sentinel. Drawing a card but losing a 3/3 on the board does not seem like a good trade to me
I guess he was trying his best to top deck a Poe to ECL and try to come back. The problem is that if he was going that heavy into drawing a Poe he probably shouldn't have resourced it turn 1. I feel like in this match if you don't have wing leader for the turn 2 play, you should probably ECL to kill your opponents first turn play
That was an interesting play for sure. The game was still very close at that point, and no one had a real advantage. I would almost be tempted to just go ahead and deploy Sabine with the action Bright Hope was played, and then follow that up with Wing Leader to Sabine right away.
William's list is sooo awkward. Ryan's on the other hand is almost exactly the same as mine ahah. He just plays 3 X-Wing while I play 1 Timely Intervention and 2 Medal Ceremony.
@Next-GenGamingSC thanks for providing the excellent content brotha! I know the match ups sometimes can't be helped but we appreciate the effort, always!
This is a bad habit that some players are still carrying from other games. I have yet to see anyone actually called out for it in person, but I am sure things will have to be a bit tighter once the official FFG tournaments kick off.
Your videos for these are actually super awesome. The best channel i've found so far covering SWU matches. Keep up the good work!
Hello, and thank you so much for the support! I appreciate you being a part of the channel.
As always, the best commentator for SWU in UA-cam!
Thank you very much! It is a lot of fun to do the commentary!
Always happy for these notifications
Thanks, Moy!
Awesome as always! Keep it up!
I really appreciate that!

I agree. I think the Heroic Resolve ended up really hurting William in that case.

He should have buffed Sabine with Wing Leader, then moved Wing Leader back next turn for the double buff.
@@tyfabes bright hope can only bring ground units back, if you meant that
Do these show live on Twitch or anywhere?
There have not been any live streams at this point. I just film the matches, and then I go back and edit the videos.
The decklists from the description don't work for me.
Same here.
Same here
I do apologize for that. I have a bad habit of forgetting to set them to 'unlisted' instead of 'private'. They should be working now.

Ryan was on fire with this list!
The match lasta 21 minutes, that should tell you how much S P E E D does Sabine have 😌👌
Excellent point.. Sabine has the speed no doubt!
Mirror matches 😕
Eh they're not terrible.
While I am not big on mirror matches myself, these were the last two undefeated players through the first five rounds of Swiss.

First 😂😊
So i guess nobody cares that William totally ignores the regroup phase steps in a competitive rel tournament…..

What was it that he did?
