    Griffin is not soft, he's tough as hell. You may see him overreact a bit after this play, but that's only after getting hit like a 100 times every season he's played. Not many players with that kind of composure. Add up all the times he kept a cool head after hard hits like this and you'll get a very different perception of him.

    This is a hard foul. More of a playoff foul to me. The reason blake reacts the way he does, to me, is to make a statement to everyone who tries to bully him. He gets a lot of nasty cheap fouls on him. Blake trying to say he's not taking any of that this season. Whether or not It works remains to be seen. In all, blake over reacts but for reason.

    all I saw was Booker going for the ball and missed it when Griffin pumped with a change of arm direction, then Booker held Griffin to prevent him from falling. Griffin may be a good player, but he needs to get away from trouble.

    What does Griffin expect? If he wants to go hard to the hole he should expect others to go hard on him. It wasn't even that nasty of a foul. Non career threatening foul. These 2000's kids don't know what good ol' fashion basketball defense looks like.

    I think it's a major flaw in basketball when in 50-50 situations the offensive player ALWAYS has the upper hand. He just needs to lift off and it's always the defenders obligation to make sure no one is harmed. Griffin knows this chicken game exists and is able to take an advantage of this, if he gets a look and a decent speed he will always try to elevate and what the hell are you supposed to do? One tough foul and hope that he is discouraged to try dunking again or just give him the dunk and he will continue to dunk? Sure, you could try to deny him every chance to do this but in 48-minute game how plausible is that..

    • @WILD__THINGS
      @WILD__THINGS 9 років тому +2

      Great point. I agree completely. And with the size, strength and explosiveness of guys like him and LeBron, as a defender if you don't get the block you have to use a lot of force to wrap them up and stop them. That's why in most cases, including this one, you see the defender slap at the ball first and then wrap the guy up. In real time it can look like a violent collision and unnecessary contact but I think most of the time its not a dirty play.

    How would griffin have reacted if he played in the 1990's against the bruising Knicks (with Oakley and Mason) or against the late 1980's Detroit Bad Boys (with Laimbeer, Mahorn and Rodman)? The hard fouls they would commit are on a completely different level than the one in this video. What is considered a flagrant foul today would have been simply called a foul back in the 80's & 90's.

    Blake Griffin gets the most cheap shots put of everybody in the NBA ! If you listening to what his teammates say you would notice how much he sacrifices for the team by letting all of this shit go. Chris Paul said that they really need him and he's glad he didn't do anything, but at that same time he is so surprised be how much patience Blake has. This isn't just you having beef with somebody and then yall fight in the street. This is professional basketball ! This is his job ! He can't just punch somebody all willy nilly ! But he did say that he was not going to take any more shit from anybody ! And for those of yall that say he was going to do anything because he's scared or he can't fight. He pratices MMA fighting all the time !

      Why would he even fight back? That guy did nothing wrong. If you even look at the video, he held his hands up as if to say "you alright?" And then, look at Blake...after that gay ass headlock crap, notice how he then starts to charge Booker AFTER everyone comes to hold them apart? Did you notice that? Of course I respect these guys but you can't deny that was a bitch move on BG's part. Go ahead people and hate my comment...just stating facts tho.

    This is great because idiots like Booker who has no real basketball value but being below average dirty work guy will one day hurt one of the most exciting Dunkers ever and we all will suffer. Imagine if somebody like Lebron, KD or Blakes career is ended because a low basketball iq guy like Booker wants to make a statement in the preseason. The NBA would suffer tremendously. Now I understand and don't mind hard fouling but there's a certain time and place and the preseason is not. If I can't see Blake dunk on people anymore because of Trevor Booker idk what I'd do.

    Blake's the frickin man! Frustrating dudes left and right. They don't know how to deal with him so they just get mad and swat. lmao

    Good thing Griffin didn't play in the 90's. He'd be a stain on the floor for the cleaning crew to mop up.

    Blake over reacted but getting fouled a lot does has a lot to do with it and he was beefing a lot with Trevor in the game if you watch the game instead of talking. But indeed Trevor was apologizing

      I wish we could play basketball together and i'll hit you that way because it's just fine with you. I would love to spend my 6 foul hitting you in the face. You will stay cool though because i will apologize anyway.

      Pawikz that does not make any sense, Trevor didn't punch him in the face, he was trying to block the ball or make 2 points hard for griffin, but Blake overreacted...

    Based on the video, I am sure that Blake could've easily connected a punch but he hesitated. I wonder if he thought the punch is not worth the repercussions. However it also looked like he would have done it anyway.. this is what happens when two lions collide, you need a few more people to reassure you that's it really isn't worth it. And a couple of high fives from the sideline kids..lol

    lol blake griffin is not soft! he's smart at not swinging at somebody on a team that doesn't even make it to the playoffs! and y'all do know that he practices mma right? and what does booker do? nothing but pretend to be a tough guy, blake can whoop his butt because he's been practicing mma.

    Lol tough guy Griffin winding up for a right hook or something? Give me a break, I like how he didn't start getting crazy until his team was all over trying to restrain him. Old school hard foul, stop crying and play. Booker had no idea Kuwabara took it as bad as he did till the dumbass put his hand behind his neck and white jerseys circled around him.
