I love the tip about getting into your front yard! Community is so important. I would love to know my neighbors and neighborhood better, and that sounds like a great way to be better engaged to it.
It is WILD how many neighbors we've had conversations with. We feel so lucky.
Love this and so, glad Janey introduced me to you and I just love how you are explaining about loving gardening in the moment! I learn by just loving it first and thanking God that he has given me a restful place to settle into. I love my garden!
Oh that is so good. And I agree... I definitely find peace in the garden. Welcome!
Have volunteered in our towns community park and municipal garden pockets for about 9-10 years. Friendships grow with the flowers we plant to beautify our town. We also do a large plant sale in May so as a result, my garden in z6a gets planted after all this is done. By this time in early June, a lot of plant varieties are sold out, and the last few years, we had higher temps in June. I would like to make my garden a sanctuary, a peaceful moment to reflect but it is an exhausted push to do my work after the plant sale ends. Love your 5 lessons & hope I can put my garden as priority sooner this year. So glad to see you from Janey's introduction. Seattle is a bit more like my area in Southern Ontario, Canada. Going to work on my plant buddies this year as well as my tree shoes. Thanks, Kate. Be well.
Thank you! And it's so true. When we work in the plant world, often times we leave it all on the table for others. It's so important to save a little for ourselves.
OMGoodness! I am soo delighted Janey introduced you to us! A cut flower garden is a must have! In 2024 one of my top priorities is creating a cut flower garden in the front yard..and using the parkway strip too! How did I come to that decision? By making the mistake of starting it in the backyard where there was not enough sunlight! Lesson learned! 🙂The lesson of putting yourself first is priceless. Thank you🙏🏾!!
Once you grow cut flowers, you practically can't exist without them again! And I am CONSTANTLY learning. At least you aren't afraid of making mistakes!
I am an introvert. Whenever I am working in the garden(only have front yard) my neighbors come and chat with me. I probably wouldn't talk to anyone otherwise ❤
Oh that's a great sign... it means you're creating a magical space in your front yard! 😊
I'm gonna LOVE your videos. THANKS!!
Yay! Thank you! So happy to have you here.
Hi, Kate: Love your style! You did a great job of giving a tour of the Garden Festival with Janey. Can't wait to see more from you in your garden, sharing what you love. I'm along for the journey. Thank you!
I'm so happy to have you here and thank you so much. I can't tell you what it means to read this beautiful outpouring of support from all my new garden friends. Welcome to the journey!
I’m so glad Janey introduced you to us today! I’m stalking you today! Just saying!
Stalk away! 🤣 I’m so happy we met up and became such fast friends.
Hi Kate, nice to meet you, I just watched you on Janeys channel. I agree with your 5 lessons, I usually listen to music when gardening to help give me energy and keep me distracted but unplugging periodically - definitely food for thought. Being in the front yard is the best way to get to know the neighbors for sure.
Welcome! I’m so glad this resonated with you. I feel like my garden teaches me things all the time. 🌱
I’m with you on 4 and 5. I think it was last year that I decided when I’m out in the garden I’d be ‘unplugged’. I just realized I always had something on distracting me and figured this would be a good time to just have my own thoughts flowing in my head. And last year I just started experimenting with cut flowers so trying to expand this year!
Oh I’m so glad. I’m always learning from not only the garden but also my experience within it. And I’ve discovered it’s more a relationship than a job/chore.
Hi Kate, so glad Janey shared your channel with us! Loved your display at the festival and looking forward to learning more from you. I live in Northern California as well in zone 9B in the lower foothills.
I am feeling so very lucky that she introduced me to all of you! Welcome… glad to have you here. ☺️
Saw you on Janey’s channel. Love your energy and vibe!!
Oh my gosh. You all are making me blush. I'm so happy to be found and feel like I have a whole new group of garden friends!
Love your lessons! Yes yes yes be present in our times in the garden ! Smell ferl touch listen! You agree plants speak to each othe but do you feel they speak to us?😉🙏🏻. Go barefoot no gloves it feeds me and it’s all about how these spaces make us chill and grow mentally physically spiritually snd educationally 😊. Thank you your voice is calming!!
Oh there is absolutely communication happening in the garden. I'm making a conscious effort to switch out of work mode and into connection mode when I'm in my garden... it definitely helps the communication! And welcome to my channel. :)
@@HelloGarden I’m excited to learn from you and see your gardens as they grow! Your philosophies are in line with mine and many other gardeners . We are a great group of caring nurturing plant (and humans😉) people!
Hi Kate, subscribed your channel after watching Janey's video today. You are a wonderful inspiration. Loved this 5 lessons! Looking forward to watching more videos.
Well thank you SO much and welcome! I learn so much just being in my garden and having time to think. So happy to have you here!
Hello Kate, I’m new to your channel. This morning, I watched you transform Janie of DPWR’s shade front porch with container gardens. A type of gardening I want to practice more.
Welcome, Susan! I’m so glad you’re here. 🌸
