Small tip for some extra exp in the begining. On the ship, before you go talk to what's-her-face (Windigo?) who blows everything up, attack the Magiters just outside the room where the murder happened. This will aggro the 2 guards, the investigator and magister you first talked to. Then run like hell towards Windigo. This will aggro every magister on the ship. You'll survive though, because you have all companions as allies on this fight, and you probably wont be targeted, much. When Windigo blows everything up you get exp for every killed magister in the fight. Nothing changes beside that. Just over 800 exp if I recall correctly. Will make you hit level 2 on the ship.
If you have telekenisis you can pick up the metal crates and 1-2 shot the magisters. Also as soon as you open the deathfog room you can actually run fast enough and save two of the deathfog barrels for yourself. I wasn't too good at it and only picked up one deathfog barrel. Now I'm saving it for the Alexander boss fight.
I know this is an old video, but a tip for anyone still struggling with the gators. You can cheese them with a bow. Just stand up on the sand behind the wood platform Quack used in this video. You can shoot arrows over the hill and kill them without initiating a fight.

I literally started my first tactician playthrough today and was struggling to beat Griff when I just gave up and went to the crocs instead, beat them, and then immediately this video was in my recommendations.
How'd the rest of your playthrough go? I think I'll star my first tactician playthrough tmrw. I've been watching major slacks playthrough and I've been playing along (on classic... With a p OP rogue lone wolf build w lohse as mage). I wonder about a 4 man party (for tank) but.. I like lone wolf tkk much I think... How'd your playthrough go?
@@pogchamp1038 a shame since I really loved the combat in this game, it still is my favourite game of all time, but now I can’t take it seriously because I either made the game too easy or spend the whole time thinking about how much easier the game could be
@@ryotoiii true. It's weird to play balance team yourself with mods too b/c you're not totally sure what your changes are doing. @@pogchamp1038 What I mean is that I found out you can one shot the final boss even if they have their health modded to triple what is normal for tactician. To deal with the dog on the ship: use chests to barricade yourself off from the dog. The dog will attack the chests while you can shoot over them. You can use this strategy on the magisters as well with chairs (chairs are too tall to hit the dog).
The dying man that gives u the spankling card can be healed twice for bonus exp first of all via the dialogue option from the polymorph trainer while another party member heals him at the same time
This is a bit late, but if you get telekenisis, you can go to the deathfog room and grab two barrels. Put one down and sneak to put one in fane (you should be able to get another civil point if you level up by killing every magister in the hold). Grab the other one and leave. Use one to kill Alexander (after sneaking past the gate by climbing the ladder to the right of it) you get juicy EXP and a neat lvl 5 two-hander. Just make sure to get the teleporter gloves first to TP the two pets into the deathfog, and do Yarrows quest to get her out of the way. If you position it right, Bishop will "die" (along with the gate guards) and Dallis will leave immediately. Undead characters can just chill in the fog and no one can do a thing.
Just picked this game up with a friends recommendation looking forward to playing through. Only 10 minutes man that’s fast took me about 35-40 to set mine up 😂
Pro tip, shove a bunch of heavy items into an unbreakable container and once you’ve collected all you can, drop the nuke on enemies 1 by 1, abuse magic pockets to transfer it to your tank (who will need telekinesis) Tactician mode solved
Bro I watched a lot of your vids, you are seriously funny. Very different style from the other guides out there and makes your vids very entertaining to watch. Keep up the good work
I counted 4 bad jokes, 2 mentions of cancer,1 mention of your...hm, "something between you legs" and you called yourself a douchebag. Great commentary. Like.
You can actually one-shot Windego if you collect all the heavy items on the ship and put them in a metal create like the one next to Sebille. From there you can pick the locked doors by Ifan Ben-mezd for a different entrance into the room. If you actually go into the room with Windego, if you stick to the far edges of the room you can avoid proccing the fight. This way you can use telekinesis to grab the chest of confiscated goods as well as hit Windego with a flying crate. Even if she dies though, she'll still disappear after killing the 3 magisters in the room with her. So definitely no way to change the ending of the act.
That barrel to put out the fire on the top of the ship at the beginning, just put the barrel in your inventory and run upstairs and drop the barrel then move it, save you them 10 mins ;D
There is a lot of extra xp you can get before the gators. You can go down to the fire slug dungeon for exploration xp, even kill the first solo slug. The turtles at the north are way easier than the gators. The 3 thugs in the sparkler fight, and the 2 next to ifan both good xp and easier fights with some loot. Also kill Septa on the beach (to receive that awesome shield on nameless island you need it anyway). Even the fight on the ship after the turtles is easier than the gators. If you are a murderhobo theres a lot more. Also all those shells really make your financial situation better if you just buy long branches / logs and create staffs.
Contamination and the rain spell can make a very very long path of poison. I’m playing through on tactician and you can do a lot of damage or avoid battle completely by poisoning the water that you create.
See ya later, Alligator! In a while, Crocodile! A door tip: When bashing doors open, remember to unarm yourself or the weapon will take durability damage. Then just Shift+Control click the door several times to queue up attacks, release and grab some snacks from the fridge (unarmed bashing takes a while). Consider Pet Pal at level 1 then Lone Wolf level 3 for you and your first companion (dismiss the other two for the stat boost and less party management). Tactician certainly is tougher than Classic, so steal/buy/craft the best armor/potions you can, examine enemies and kill one or two, then flee, and repeat.
Great guide that I should have watched before my "almost" blind honour first playthrough. You have a pleasant voice and great tutorial scriptwriting skills! I am finally playing this game after sitting on my shelf for years! There are too many good games these days but I am handicapped because I like to plat games if possible. Still not escaped fort joy and it's been a week! No choice but to use the hit, kill and run tactic to even survive since basic game sense can only get you so far. I survived Migo but running away but by luck, the Magister who patrols the area with the dog arrived and saved my ass! :D It's not easy with lots of fleeing hit and run and my characters are not optimised with any character build knowledge. My only working tactic at the moment is to have 2 archers in high positions and teleport a victim near them so they can annihilate them and flee till the enemy group is only one left. I wish I took the Escapist talent for all characters. :( I'm watching non-spoiler youtube guides now as it's getting tougher and tougher because my characters are gimped but seem not so gimped that they can't be saved but I'm only watching stuff to the point where I am and no more. Playing on Ps4 which has surprisingly great controls for this type of game but my biggest enemy is misclicking people as they coincidentally move away as I click causing me to shoot the ground of causing unnecessary fights! I am always careful to flee if I foresee disaster within the next few turns. I am loving this almost blind playthrough. It is heart-stopping and a nice rush! My GF played the early access Bulders gate 3 and she says it is better than Sin 2 in all aspects but still I'm gonna wait for the full release. I do wonder if Larian studios approached Wizards of the Coast to make Bulders gate 3 or vice versa? I am erring on the former! Keep up the good work! Subscribed!
The best combat method i found in this game is ALL your party members either do physical or magical. Do not split the damage type between your party members because then you will effectively be fighting against " 2 different HPs which is magical or physical.
I mostly did the same, but added magic to the mix: the 2 frontliners learned geomancer / polymorph / air for a little variety (polymorph has great strength based attacks, mostly physical, but theres medusa head, flay skin and oily blob, geomancer is a great source of physical damage for a shield fighter/tank later on with potential earth damage as well, earthquake dows earth damage but the knockdown is physical based, while air only needs 2 points for some utility/control skills like teleport, netherswap, dodge, movement, 3 for tornado for certain fights and adventuring), while my mage was summoner/hydro/necro (necro attack speels does physical damage, healing does physical damage on undead) and a ranger with corpse explosion and little necromancy. This way I also had summons for all party members, a bone widow/blob is useful even at basic level. They were doing almost completely physical damage, but I had a good healer, and easy control over enemies with low magic shield (petrify, ice magic, freeze). The only combination that really doesn't work is 3-1 pure physical/magic parties or pure+hybrid lone wolves. Magic gives way more control, and with high Int the elements can be easily mixed.
What I learned from this guide: USE mushrooms to craft potions. I'm 26h in on my playthrough and haven't crafted a single potion yet. My inventory is overflowing.
So even though that spear has nice stats, since it was a level higher and Beast was going strength anyway (and spears are finess... which I felt I had to say even though everyone knows it), I wonder if dual swords would have been better, either the ones in your inventory marked to sell or level 2 crafted ones. The advantage, despite lower apparent damage, would be better chance to hit, *maybe* a little extra poison damage since that would bypass the physical armor, and a CC since once the physical armor was broken you could remove the offhand sword for one action point to get the Sucker Punch ability. Also, if you start Fane as a Shadowblade (or whatever it's called), I think he'll come with thievery instead of sneak, plus the polymorph invis and chicken CC. Just my two cents, I know it's super easy to watch someone else's work and make comments on it knowing no one is ever going to watch me play and say "hey, why don't you do that instead?", but cool video, it's nice to see new people who don't take themselves too seriously in these play videos. Subscribed after the Summoner video.
I didn't actually have two swords, they were broken 2handers lol. But yea! Usually afterwards I teleport on top of the bridge by the beach to get the viper sword and pair that with a shield. For exactly that reason, getting the sucker punch ability. Yea, that was my mistake. Coming from the early access, still thought Shadowblade was necromancy + scoundrel. Thanks for the support!
Ah, my mistake on the swords. Also I was wrong about removing the extra sword for an action point, turns out removing is free, it only costs to re-equip, which makes it even sweeter... 3 AP attack and Sucker Punch in one turn. I'm sure that's probably well known by now but I'm enjoying the game too much to reddit.
Why don't you go to the turtle behind fane's spot to xp? If you fight them and win every xp by speaking or discovering, you'll be higher lvl and it'll be easier.
The turtles are cheaters. They explode on death so your wimpy early game characters will most likely die. It's a waste of ressurection scrolls to do that fight early unless you are doing a 4x ranged character party (and why tf would you do that?)
3 years late but I don't give a damn; Loot *EVERYTHING.* candles, candle holders the lot of it! The amount of gold you end up amassing by possessing some frugality will get you far, very far.
I've recently had success running through Divinity using a 6000lb Ornate Chest (which doesn't have a health bar) and throwing it at enemies for about 4000 to 5000 damage per hit using Telekinesis. Its been a bit of a wild ride considering I don't use any damaging abilities and can one-shot basically every enemy in the game. Credits to TheSpiffingBrit via UA-cam for this idea and his Telekinesis only challenge. The only fights where this tactic fails is when there's no ground to place the chest next to their model (The Kraken fights namely). You can also use the Dusty Pouch that you can dig up just outside of where you would usually find Fane in Fort Joy provided that you have a shovel and a character with some points invested into wits. I haven't tested it on Tactician mode yet but I'm sure it would be just as effective?
Thats barrelmancy, a really cheesy method mainly used by speedrunners, who complete the game under 20-30 minutes (not kidding, the record is 21 minutes I think).
skip the boat fight, skip the void woken, recruit all members before reaching level 2 (save Ifan for last since scaring off burro will likely force a level up) make Ifan a rogue and boom every member of your party has thievery at level 2...
Your content is great, just needs some more polish which will come with time. Good job. Also I disagree with crocs being the most difficult, but it is the most frustrating gear wise.
I hired Ifan then went to take the key from the fort prison dungeon then used Ifan to sneak outside by going up the ladder and stealth my way to the bridge and get the crossbow Ifan was supposed to use to kill Alexandar but It's up to you if you wanna disband him or not. I used him then removed him from my party.

@Elidan1012
lol good point. They all die anyway. Might as well profit!

+Thomas Binney it's free to de quip, costs 1 to equip
Pro tip, you can hold left control to attack things instead of tediously right clicking on them. :p
Why don't you go to the turtle behind fane's spot to xp? If you fight them and win every xp by speaking or discovering, you'll be higher lvl and it'll be easier.
exactly
Also frogs are tougher than crocs imo
The turtles are cheaters. They explode on death so your wimpy early game characters will most likely die. It's a waste of ressurection scrolls to do that fight early unless you are doing a 4x ranged character party (and why tf would you do that?)
Important questions are being asked
After watching your video I just realized I miss so many stuffs and I am on Lady Vengeance LMAO
Best divinity 2 video ever
This video has earned you a new subscriber!
1st episode of a playtrough that never ended
Awesome vid. Your jokes and puns make me lol. Subscribed.
Just got this game. God it's so good.
The persuasion check on the tutorial ship I passed as wizard sebille.
Near the hidden entrance at around 5 minutes to the "left" there is a graveyward where there is a zombie if you dig it up
3 years late but I don't give a damn; Loot *EVERYTHING.* candles, candle holders the lot of it! The amount of gold you end up amassing by possessing some frugality will get you far, very far.
Great game tips aside, that mole rat thing was the coolest thing I learned this week.
Absolutely love your videos! I can see you becoming quite the popular man within a year or so if you keep it up.
only tip for tactician: first cc, then dmg. CC is the key for victory
Always thumbs up for dancing dwarf.
Thumbs up for the jokes alone but two thumbs up for being an awesome guide!
Great vid ! Thanks for your time I was stuck in fort joy on my tact play through... until I went elf harming
Your content is great, just needs some more polish which will come with time. Good job.
Also I disagree with crocs being the most difficult, but it is the most frustrating gear wise.
Really enjoyed the video and the puns! subbed
You can combine a shell and a long stick to make a staff which gives decent gold.
you can do the poker players fight and turtle fight to level before the crocs to make it easier.
Perfect, now i can finally play the game :)
2:30 pro tip hold control d_
12:28 blood also does 15% more damage
currently playing on honor mode with lone wolf its pretty fun slowly noticing a difficulty curve at level 14
Facehugger89 Which two builds are you using?
Not sure about you, but I'm using a hybrid Tank/CQC mage for red and summoner/ranger for sibelle
i love the bad content you have in your videos. keep up the great work
fun fact you can kill all your potential companions giving you free scrolls, potions, and backpacks. they all will be at fort joy
who need 4 when you can have 2 with lonewolf! :D Cool vid dude!
I liked your doors joke.
this..was..surprising good and entertaining..i hope you have more. i'd be down for a playthrough with this commentary
Great videos man! Keep em coming!
so cool, i had no idea about barrels + crafting.
Are you willing to do a full playthrough of this game? I would love to watch it. Tactician or w/e difficulty you want
you could cheese it with ornate box, but what fun is that.
Thanks for the video man, superb.
It's never a bad content when you see a dwarf class dancing to popcorn at the end of the video
