There's a charm to the original art style of the weapons and characters that's lost on the remake. But the environments in the remake, God damn they're gorgeous.

HappyPepe everyone’s personality in this game are pretty awful the same goes with the soundtrack. The visuals are fantastic and game play is smooth but even that is a bit pathetic you just strafe and shoot (repeat) the original is just far superior.
My biggest complaint about how the remake went is that they went a bit too far with the graphics and lighting update. The original game had a certain charm with its low-res graphics, but what really brought it all together was the colors. The bright contrasting colors with almost uniform lighting gave it a distinct feel, one that was lost with the reboot. After this, the simplified feel of the game (addressed below) would be my biggest complaint. However, the games does add to the franchise. I find the plumber's fourth wall breaking amusing, and while I did enjoy the difficulty of the first game relative to the other two in the original trilogy, I do understand "lowering" the difficulty to make it a bit more accessible, as well as not making the "post Game 1" section ridiculously difficult. However, in doing so, the game lost more of the charm of the original trilogy, which is why to this day, even though I do agree the Future games did expand on the lore and had some great highlights, it's the original trilogy that is most memorable to me. The game is more than just an update of graphics, which can be appreciated in an age where the same game can be ported from system to system with minor graphics/lighting updates and then calling it a new game (cough Skyrim cough). Lastly, plot progression is better handled. Looking back, Ratchet never really had a defined motivation for doing what he did. He would leave the planet, and then...? All in all, while I personally do like the original game better, I can see what draws people to the remake. Liking the old game more doesn't make you a jaded and miserable old timer, nor does liking the new game make you a sellout or a snowflake. Now I await the UA-cam comments section to tear me a new one for my moderate stance.
I agree on all but two things. They never called Skyrim a new game or a remake with the re releases, they only ever said they'd remaster aspects if the game with better colors, textures, lighting, gameplay features and animations (not by much but they did) And 2nd, no. The new games story is just so damn terrible in every single l concievable way. Bring up any aspect of the bee games story and I can tell you how the original did it objectively better.
HyperTwister however emh... The "new one" is for the new generation of players that start to see what the "old gen" saw at the time. Well i wish this is only the beggining for the "new" Retchet and Clank series....
HyperTwister the truth is that fans no longer have that respect for the work that developers do after all. Nothing is good for fans in recent time. And this is sad. :(
@@marleyjunior3583 X2 el remake es solo mucho gráfico y ya pero el original además de ser un clásico y mantener el diseño original de ratchet también tiene esa dificultad y en el remake como que hicieron muchos cambios
All these arguments about framerate and graphics..... not even important for me. The original was better because it's levels were more interesting. Some of the best planets from the original were not in the remake. There were no giant clank segments. The new story had no tension/excitement compared to the original, and the genuinely funny moments involving Drek and Quark aren't there anymore. AND there was no visibomb gun or suck cannon!!!
@korrok But would you rather do those pace-breaking puzzle segments with a new character who never shuts up? I don't know about you, but I'd rather tear through walls and destroy the factory as Giant Clank.
New one has way better graphics, but the old one's graphics have a charm all their own. The sound effects are much better on the old one. This is coming form someone that has never played a Rachet and Clank game.
let the animator explain.... PS2 Had the weirdest Chip architecture imaginable for that time period, certain chips only focus on certain things, and was pretty much good at it. It couldn't do fancy textures, fancy lighting, only sound and geometry with low res textures. Thus Studios took great advantage with these focused chips. but the PS4, only has a PC'like cpu, and Gpu. no special Texture packer chip, or focused sound card, or even Physics focused chips. Any other activities than graphics, needs to be handled by the CPU. The CPU aint that good at strange activities such as Physics or Random AI, or particle paths. The PS4 version Is the most superior version of ratchet and clank, it Features Never before seen Special effects, such as SSS explosion lighting, and parallax water effects, Even Cascading Fur simulations. Usually, it takes Hours to Render something featuring that technology on specialized Software on a very expensive PC. Its the type of stuff Pixar uses for their Movies. So be amazed on How they got these graphics. Even I can't explain how they did these effects on a PS4 in real-time... Now, do you really still need that 60FPS??? just think how pretty this game looks, and forget about the FPS.
I honestly have never played ratchet and clank and am just playing it now. I didn't realize the ps4 version was the original one but rebooted. It feels like a modern game, not just the graphics but the game play.
the ps4 version looks way better, but the ps2 version is an all around better game. i also preferred the characters in the ps2 version. Also, i swear they cut out content. like i remember all these areas in Kerwan that you can fly to, but i can't get to in the ps4 version.
The og ratchet looks better than the new version. He actually looks mature, and has the personality to match. Mikey Kelly was also an excellent voice for ratchet
Everyone whining about the PS4 version being too kid friendly is because they grew up with the PS2 version and are too jaded and miserable as adults to enjoy the new version. They're both good, no matter what personality tweaks the characters have between the two. I'm just thankful I can experience this game again
What you just said was an opinion which i know must get confusing for you to remember. So, they changed essential things that made the game so enjoyable to what seems like most people that played the original but everyone that disagrees with you is jaded and miserable? I can't tell if you're projecting or you're really just some snowflake
actually, no. I'm 12 but i grew up with loads of old games and i can say with certainty that i prefer the old one. The new one does, indeed, feel too childish. The frame rate has actually gone down in the new one and its lost its charm.
xoAlmi same. 13 now but grew up with ps1 and ps2. I love these games so much that whenever i comment on a rac video i have to write a whole paragraph but to sum it up; better weapons, characters, story, cutscenes, soundtrack, worlds, feel and ambience, level design and enemy placement. I dont mind a more kid friendly approach but the OG's more gritty style is tonnes better, and moments like "hashtag gadgetron" in the ps4 game isnt a "more kid friendly approach", its just pandering
Honestly as much as I love Ratchet and Clank the title is dead to me. I REALLY don't know why they changed the concept of the game to look more cartoonish and childish. It was never that way to begin with and all of a sudden it's looking like a Barney videogame...... Luckily they came out with the Ratchet and Clank HD Trilogy so I can play the real Ratchet and Clank games. Going Commando is probably the best example on how Ratchet and Clank REALLY looks and should be. Going Commando hands down is the best one in the series as it featured a vast amount of gadgets, has the most weapons, ship weapons, and somewhat of a more serious feel to it and also the legendary R.Y.N.O. II which was the best R.Y.N.O. overall in the series that had a balance between good accuracy, ammo capacity and fire rate. The armor selection on the new Ratchet and Clanks aren't nice looking either. The most badass armor that Insomniac designed for Ratchet is the beast Carbonox Armor from Megacorp (which is my profile picture) it's not only the best armor in the game it looks damn cool compared to all the other armors in every other title. If only Insomniac could go back to the REAL concept and T rating Ratchet and Clank.... Very disappointed with how the title has turned out..... no good games exist anymore.
Yes Ratchet and Clanck: Going Commando is the best title on the PS2 along with Metal Gear Solid 3 and good games wont exist anymore because everything is done commercially for the modern brainless kids.
"No good games exist anymore" Kid, just be quite if your gonna make stupid comments like that. I agree with you for the most part, but that last comment is just stupid beyond reasoning.
i can't believe people are bashing on the original and saying that the new one is better?? i've never seen a bigger bunch of 12 year olds jizzing over some cool graphics. the ps2 trilogy is just a masterpiece
I honestly prefer the PS2 Novalis. It was much more realistic because the people were essentially slowly being bombed. The planet was already largely destroyed and it seemed like everyone was just trying to leave, like the plumber who was very desperate to leave. On the PS4 version, you don't get this feeling of hopelessness because you don't have bombers slowly bombing the city but you have constant action and a mayor who treats it like a joke. In the original, you get a sense of the planet already being doomed whereas in the remaster, you kill every invader, make it look like it was nothing and the war situation isn't even mentioned. The soundtrack in the original is also way better.
Esto debería hacer naughty dog con la saga de Jack y Daxter desde el 1 hasta Jack X mortal racing más un modo online con el de carreras como Crash team racing
This is the reason people hate the new one (Guys, this is a reboot. Not a remaster) 1. Ratchet is no longer a badass. 2. The plot is different (The plot is based one the movie guys) 3. For some reason, people think the ps2 graphics are better. 4. It's too kid friendly (it probably would have been E 10+ but that rating didn't exist back then) 5. Old guns/planets weren't in the new one. (But you can get the bouncer if you preordered the game) 6. Ratchet and Clank became friends at the start. Guy the PS4 is a reboot so it's not the complete same.
1: he's literally a bitch now 2: the movie plot was garbage and the only character arc worth noting was Qwark's (and that's saying something) 3: While the ps2 graphics may not be better, they actually have charm unlike the reboot (take, for example, the weapon appearances) 4: With people making random humor jokes, a guy that literally says "#Gadgetron", the nonstop talking and hand-holding, and the lack of difficulty, I can understand this. 5: They were missing some of the most memorable planets in the original because they didn't fit the new plot. I didn't like the plot and I was disappointed in this, but I do understand it. As for the guns, they weren't that great in the original anyway so I don't understand the outrage. Maybe if Insomniac had picked up more guns from R&C Going Commando's weapon arsenal, people wouldn't even care. It's worth noting that the bouncer is from GC (and not the original) but for it to be a pre-order bonus is just sad. 6: Ratchet and Clank's relationship with each other actually made the original's story somewhat interesting. Ratchet also had a decent character arc that got trashed in the remake in favor of a kid-friendly goody-two-shoes who doesn't undergo any change from the start of the game. Reboot it may be. IMO though, it shouldn't have been based on the movie. In fact, the movie shouldn't even exist in the first place (you can flame me for this as I know it isn't always a "welcomed" opinion).
Not to sound like a hater because I enjoyed the hell out of the remake but the only thing the remake has is that it’s 100% better graphics then the original but the original had better character development and story telling while the remake kind of use kid jokes and nobody stopped talking in it. And Ratchet and Clank didn’t even build there relationship like they did in the original story it was more like he saved him and they became best friends and Ratchet was more of a character that didn’t give not to shits about most things and he was sarcastic, the new one was a nerd and he looked up to Quark.
si fuera un remake aparecería los mismo lugares como la versión original y esos lugares que hemos visto en el versión de ps2 no aparecen en la versión de ps4 porque es un reboot lo dijo la propia insomniac y también dijo que este juego es basado en la pelicula
PS4 game looks better graphically speaking. Runs at 30fps and comes with heavy motion blur. PS2/PS3 game runs at a much smoother frame-rate and no motion blur. Environments may not be shiny, but they're so darn smooth, clean, polished and unique that it makes them very memorable. So I'd say I prefer the PS2/PS3 one.
@@jimbomclimbo7467 I honestly beg to differ. The reboot’s gameplay gets very repetitive as it goes on, mostly because you’re just jumping and shooting from place to place most of the time, and even the boss fights are just this. It offers little to no challenge, and especially with some really weird additions like infinite ammo and health, it just makes it feel safe, easy and boring to play through. Not offering any sort of challenge and just being the same shtick over and over again. The newly developed levels are also like this. Every level that isn’t from the original is rather bland to explore, as none of them are created as cleverly as the original game’s stages. They were top platforming stuff. The reboot is mostly just corridor masquerading when it’s not being a platformer. The original had very creative ideas, and it’s weapons facilitated these ideas. The original’s approach to combat is mostly puzzle-oriented rather than run n’ gun gameplay. Shoot mines and lower enemies in with the Taunter, deploy decoys in a tough situation, shoot the Visibomb at a distance; having less health had the player rely on a greater degree of strategy instead of running in guns blazing. Not to mention the original game’s soundtrack is miles better, there’s way less chitchat, the game isn’t patronising unlike the reboot, every stage is memorable, and so much more. So I still think the original game’s gameplay is better.
I loved the whole ratchet and clank trilogy and I really prefer ratchet personality in the old one than in the ps4 version, also it is easier because in ratchet and clank 1 you only had 8 points of life maximum
I've tried both Ratchet & Clank PS2, and Ratchet & Clank PS4. What can I say, there are no comparisons... Ratchet & Clank PS2 is 100 times more beautiful. Graphically for the times it was impressive, but then we want to talk about the differences? Ratchet & Clank PS2 had better humor, better storyline, Better Musics, better villain, better longevity and Ratchet had a much more "human" character. In the Reebot, all of these things get lost. The plot is taken from the film (which in my opinion is bullshit) distorting the perfect plot of the original game, the humor simply does not exist, or rather, it is made especially for children, The musics of the original game... My God if they are awesome, I love them so much, especially Metropolis and Novalis. PS4 music is not memorable on the same level and is quite forgettable. As villain then we have Nefarius, who yes is my favorite villain of the series, but here it seems out of place, the villain should be Drek, who here instead seems just a secondary idiot antagonist. The longevity of the original was absurd for the times, 9 -10 hours to finish the game was a lot for those times, while the PS4 version only lasts 5-6 hours, this is also due to the fact that in this version some planets have been removed, which is sad. Last thing, the character of ratchet in the PS2 version was fantastic, he was Arrogant, conceited, Rude and Wary, even though he was the hero, he was not always kind and with a smile on his face. In the PS4 version his character has completely turned upside down, here Ratchet is all too good and meek, never getting angry or rude, never, here he is sweet and kind as a kitten ... and I don't like much as a thing, I liked the character of Ratchet PS2, he had Grit, but in the reboot he didn't, his character is too good, without smudges, in a word "Flat". That said, I love both games and both deserve to be played, but for sure, the PS2 Version is superior in all respects (even in graphics, because let's remember that the PS2 version came out in 2002, and at that time, that graphics it was crazy).
the gameplay of the original was so smooth. the ps4 version makes ratchet look stiff and it looks like he's skipping frames. I hate the idea of sacrificing gameplay for better graphics
Looks great, but it is so strange seeing how PS2 is running at 60fps and PS4 is running at 30fps. I really wish running games at 60fps was the standard like it was back during the PS2 era. Many games on the PS2 ran at 60fps.
Wow! Great comparison. The ps2 version looks stunning. It seems to run exceptionally smooth and stable so I was wondering: what emulator are you using? What version of the game? What bios and setting configuration? Back then on the ps2 I played all the R&C titles but the very first one, which is a shame. I'd really like to play it now on the PC, but whatever I try, it runs really bad, almost in slow motion. I've been on pcsx2 1.5.0 dev 2387 with European bios v2.2. I have a shitty laptop on which to run it, so that might be the cause of the lags (i3-5005u, Intel HD 5500, 4gb ram), but I doubt it because while running, both CPU and GPU usage does not go past 50%. If you provide us with specs and details of your emulation setup I'll be really grateful.
Your specs are just to low, it doesn't matter which configurations you use, it just won't work, I have an Intel i5-4300u, AMD Radeon HD 8790m and 12GB of ram and can't play any PS2 game
Old game still looks better. Sure lighting and textures aren't cinematic but I can tell the difference between an enemy and a lense flare and at 60 fps it's actually nice to look at
@CalNotNice The gameplay is basically a blatant copy from Tools of Destruction - A Crack in Time. Nothing new was really introduced. Gameplay is just more fast-paced and basically eliminates all the challenge the previous games could give by just having few enemies in set positions. The only real way to up the game in the re-imagining is to just have a thousand or so enemies in the same room. There's also the fact that the OG didn't run at 30fps and had smooth visuals and movement. The 2016 reboot runs at 30fps and since colours are basically everywhere in the game, it's so darn hard to spot incoming projectiles and due to the motion blur, makes it frustrating looking for enemies but then getting shot in the back and maybe killed. The gameplay is fine... If it ran smoother than I wouldn't be here complaining.
Is the new one the EXACT same game with different visuals? for ex. are the plot, secret location, equipments, and enemies in the exact same place with the exact same stats just with upgraded looks?
I know this video is two years old now, But I still love the originals. Why? because this generation of gaming is all about graphics and spoon-feeding you into thinking your good at video games. The last fun R&C game was Crack in Time, I feel the focused a lot on graphics but still kept the challenge and original concept of the originals and by adding more features to it as well. I'm just gonna wait until Rpcs3 can run the R&C trilogy at 60 fps, and forget about buying a ps4. I fear how easy and babying these games are going to get within the next 3 years...
Lo siento soy un enamorado de esta saga la tenía completa en PS2 .por desgracia la última entrega no está mal en gráficos pero no tiene nada!!!! Que ver con la esencia de los viejos un gran fallo y una pena la verdad
They ruined this game. The graphics were nice yes. That is where the good points ended. Was devastated as ratchet and clank was my favourite series growing up, but they really butchered the remake of the first game.
Según que cuestiones pienso yo. Pues la pregunta clave no es si hicieron algo genial, sino si mantiene lo esencial y básico del original. Yo creo que lo cumple parcialmente.
Relative to the original game upon release, the graphics were good and the game was overall enjoyable. Its successor may rise above graphically, but the gameplay is stiff, the framerate is significantly lower for a game that relies more heavily on higher frames for play. On top of both of those flaws, the characters are horribly dull and one-dimensional, the voice acting isn't pleasant to listen to, and the story is reduced to a shallow facade of whimsy. I care too much about an old, forgotten IP.
My God just reading this comments I didn't even imagine this game could have haters. I'm just so happy one of my favorite childhood games has a remake this beautiful, the nostalgia hits hard. Yup they could've make it better im many aspects but I'm just so happy to see this remake.
The newer just has more dramatic lighting and higher resolution. The ps2 is a much more smooth experience and I think thats one aspect that shouldn'tve disregarded
i don´t like it that they made ratchet so cute >:( in the original he was a wrench swinging badass and now he looks like a plushy.... nothing against the game its great i played it and had a metric shit-ton of fun but thats just a little thing .. id love the 2nd game remastered its my favorite
I haven't played OG Ratchet and Clank in idek how long, looking at the old game graphics gives me nostalgia lol growing up playing the PS2 was good times. Hopefully Jak and Daxter is remastered in the future enjoyed playing that even though I barely remember it lmao.
El detalle del tio ese, k como las cinematicas son diferentes, en el remake dice lo del deja vu haciendo referencia a que se vieron hace años en ps2, como se lo curran
Most remakes out there are garbage, they fail to capture that unique charm and vibe from the originals. Despite the graphic improvements. Crash Bandicoot is another good example.
@@lovethyneighbor6886 Honestly I would rather want a definitive collection release than a remake. Just up the resolution with no changes to the graphical detail is COMPLETELY fine with me. Id be more than happy to that.
It looks like the original is holding up very very well. I've never played a ratchet and clank game, so I'm going through the remake now and it's pretty dang fun
People..it isn't nostalgia goggles. The environment looks better on the remaster, no doubt. However, they made Ratchet too cutesy and they have essentially Sonic Boom'd him. Also, they have completely changed the personality of the characters, along with the storyline. The remake is just not worth it. Get the original for a cheaper price and play Ratchet how it was meant to be played.
Yo jugue el remake y a la primera vez que lo complete me parecio asombroso pero empece a ver videos y ya me empesaron a gustar los anteriores como, a crack in time , into the nexus (mi favorito) , quest for booty , armados hasta los dientes , etc ,etc haaa si tan solo isieran remakes en especial into the nexus
I'm just looking at this and i can see they kept this the Original Style. I like that they did that. Even though i have no Relation with the Ratchet and Clank games. Also they show some things which is related to the Original. It says a lot about Ratchet and Clank (2002) and all that. (2003) (2004) etc. An amazing game. And i haven't even beat it yet! So glad they made it for free!
I could just imagine how a Jak and Daxter remaster would look like.

GuyThatCommentsVids remastered would not be so good... Remake should be better

I mean, Ratchet & Clank 1 came out long before the 2016 Reimagining. So, it makes sense.

This is the remastered version on the ps3. Can't believe that many people including you are getting clickbait by this video
PS2 looks virtually identical to PS3 tho, what are you on about?? The only changes were upscaled textures.

Ps2 verson just gives me more feels
Uhh that ps2 Game atmosphere,Graphics,
mechanics,Sounds. So Iconic Game series!!
Pure Nostalgia ❤
I honestly have never played ratchet and clank and am just playing it now. I didn't realize the ps4 version was the original one but rebooted. It feels like a modern game, not just the graphics but the game play.
the ps4 version looks way better, but the ps2 version is an all around better game. i also preferred the characters in the ps2 version.
Also, i swear they cut out content. like i remember all these areas in Kerwan that you can fly to, but i can't get to in the ps4 version.
Kain Motthasmews they left out like half my favorite planets! (Orxon hoven gemlik base)
they left out all the good parts.
Kain Motthasmews yeah and that's why I'm playing the original right now :D
thats the way :P
Kain Motthasmews for sure!
The og ratchet looks better than the new version. He actually looks mature, and has the personality to match. Mikey Kelly was also an excellent voice for ratchet
Why do you have the music turned off in the original? That's one of the greatest advantages it has over the remake.
And the smooth 60fps and the whole charm of the game also the whole god damn story and characters are all better in the original.
The graphics are amazing on ps4 but they completely butchered the ‘Ratchet and Clank' part of Ratchet and Clank
how?
The frame rate has actually gone down in the new one and its lost its charm.
xoAlmi who cares I'm 17 and I'm just happy they actually remembered about Ratchet and Clank so instead of looking at nitpicking negatives just enjoy
xoAlmi same.
Jackalack313 M who exactly are you replying to?
As good as the remastered looks, they failed to make it recognizable to us that played the original. That puts me off.
Just my opinion.
Everything started when people dictated that the more childish looking and action oriented Up Your Arsenal was better than Going Commando.
"No good games exist anymore"
Kid, just be quite if your gonna make stupid comments like that. I agree with you for the most part, but that last comment is just stupid beyond reasoning.
i enjoyed up your arsenal more but it is such a long time since i played any of them. imma buy a ps2 later and play them again
Kamikaze Eightytwo '8
i can't believe people are bashing on the original and saying that the new one is better?? i've never seen a bigger bunch of 12 year olds jizzing over some cool graphics. the ps2 trilogy is just a masterpiece
*Graphics:* PS4 Version.
*Gameplay, Humor, Variety, Length, Plot, Music:* PS2 Version.
Es increíble el avance de la tecnologia , y ahora el de ps5 se ve muchisimo mejor
Not a remaster)
1. Ratchet is no longer a badass.
2. The plot is different (The plot is based one the movie guys)
3. For some reason, people think the ps2 graphics are better.
4. It's too kid friendly (it probably would have been E 10+ but that rating didn't exist back then)
5. Old guns/planets weren't in the new one. (But you can get the bouncer if you preordered the game)
6. Ratchet and Clank became friends at the start.
Guy the PS4 is a reboot so it's not the complete same.
1: he's literally a bitch now
2: the movie plot was garbage and the only character arc worth noting was Qwark's (and that's saying something)
3: While the ps2 graphics may not be better, they actually have charm unlike the reboot (take, for example, the weapon appearances)
4: With people making random humor jokes, a guy that literally says "#Gadgetron", the nonstop talking and hand-holding, and the lack of difficulty, I can understand this.
RecenityZ ok I was just saying why people don't like the reboot
I was elaborating :)
Sound design was so much better in the original! Even if I've never actually played it, it gives me nostalgia vibes.
Ps2 is better and it will always be
The original was my favorite ps2 game of all time & my first.
si fuera un remake aparecería los mismo lugares como la versión original y esos lugares que hemos visto en el versión de ps2 no aparecen en la versión de ps4 porque es un reboot lo dijo la propia insomniac y también dijo que este juego es basado en la pelicula
But the gameplay in the new one is way better
Ratchet and Clank original for PS2 wins for me, it is my childhood!!!! Hehehehe.
PS2 > PS4
You can’t compare these and call the new one a “remaster” when technically it’s not. They changed the entirety of this game. No Bueno.
It's not a remaster
@@glycolyse7318 he said it's not a remaster...
P0c R0c thank you lol never said it was.
Ps2 Ratchet and clank generation
the gameplay of the original was so smooth. the ps4 version makes ratchet look stiff and it looks like he's skipping frames. I hate the idea of sacrificing gameplay for better graphics
Well your completely wrong the gameplay in the new one is way better.
God I hope they do 2 and 3 in future, I love 3
Please no. No more downgrading the games to be kid-friendly...
TyrannWright Crack in Time wasn't that much kid friendlier though. Tbh, it's probably the one with the deepest story.
Deep, yet still had some childish elements. *****
TyrannWright Dude all ratchet and clanks are " kid friendly" Smfh .
The cartoony style is kid-friendly. Not so much for the mature jokes and innuendos that the game hides. ThreeDaysOfDan
How do you explain Ratchet and clank PS4 as a Remake?
My fuck this new one looks fucking amazing cannot wait to play it in the near future
The remake is beautiful, they did a great job on it and i really enjoyed it.
Looks great, but it is so strange seeing how PS2 is running at 60fps and PS4 is running at 30fps. I really wish running games at 60fps was the standard like it was back during the PS2 era. Many games on the PS2 ran at 60fps.
Good memories ;) i still have this game for ps2
I'm pretty sure that's the ps3 version
Old Ratchet looks a lot better proportion-wise. The new design's head is too large in comparison to the body, the tail too
Just goes to show just how important an art style of a game can make it age like find wine.
Old game still looks better. Sure lighting and textures aren't cinematic but I can tell the difference between an enemy and a lense flare and at 60 fps it's actually nice to look at
Hombre es como comparar el ocarina of time original con el remake de 3DS
Suffice to say, the jump from the PS4 remake to PS5's Rift Apart is quite comparable to the one seen here.
I’d say
Everything feels more alive on PS4 version
Indeed, the environment was enhanced so much and I love it.
Jerklog The graphics are mostly what they focused on hence why the story was shit compared to the original.
more gay
Yo that's ironic because the remake just seems lifeless as fuck
But the music is better in the original one
the original will always be better, the remake is trash for one reason- Story
CalNotNice well that is an important part of the game the plot of the game breaks cannon
Haha playing a game for a story go read a book mate
If it ran smoother than I wouldn't be here complaining.
el ratchet antiguo es mas carismático
"mira otra fuga" jajajaja
I agree with the majority here the graphics of the ps4 version don't suit the game
Menuda diferencia de diálogos en la parte final... Parece que ha pasado de Cartoon Network a Disney Channel.
Ya te digo, family cringiendly
Is the new one the EXACT same game with different visuals?
for ex. are the plot, secret location, equipments, and enemies in the exact same place with the exact same stats just with upgraded looks?
no its based on the movie
Forever ps2 ❤
Whyd you turn the music off for the og clips?
I think the old one is better
+GUILLENO 77 no, im not you!!!!
+dovah kiin How is the original always better? In this case the original is really not all that great. It's a decent game that looks old as shit.
+Emre Gezer Yeah no. Stop trying to be some hipster douche.
+Mythical Gnome... i hate hipsters.
wtf why is the old better?
They ruined this game. The graphics were nice yes. That is where the good points ended. Was devastated as ratchet and clank was my favourite series growing up, but they really butchered the remake of the first game.
:(
Que diferencia mas abismal, que gran trabajo han hecho con este remake
Según que cuestiones pienso yo. Pues la pregunta clave no es si hicieron algo genial, sino si mantiene lo esencial y básico del original. Yo creo que lo cumple parcialmente.
PS2 version wins for me. Enjoyed the remake but the original was more edgey, had more levels and the music was amazing
The jump from ps1 to ps2 was just incredible
I've missed this game on PS2 but now I'm playing the Remaster on PS4 Pro and its even better💯
Graphics don't make a game.
@@camn9851 I don't blame you. I love Ratchet and Clank a bit too much. Sucks that not many people remember them...
It's PS3 vs PS4 not PS2 !!!
My God just reading this comments I didn't even imagine this game could have haters. I'm just so happy one of my favorite childhood games has a remake this beautiful, the nostalgia hits hard. Yup they could've make it better im many aspects but I'm just so happy to see this remake.
O jogo original não é feio não! Muito bem feito para PS2
Essa versão que ele mostrou é a remasterização pro PS3 por isso tá bonito
The newer just has more dramatic lighting and higher resolution. The ps2 is a much more smooth experience and I think thats one aspect that shouldn'tve disregarded
i don´t like it that they made ratchet so cute >:( in the original he was a wrench swinging badass and now he looks like a plushy.... nothing against the game its great i played it and had a metric shit-ton of fun but thats just a little thing .. id love the 2nd game remastered its my favorite
eso fue muy corto
pero buen video - no savia que ratchet y clank tenían un remake
Can we all just realize he had to play quite a bit of the game on both consoles to get these locations and footage of them.
Man I think it’s been too long since I’ve played this game :/ might wanna dig the ole ps2 out of the closet
2002 plumber was awesome, this one is just... uhmm...
itsratchet you’re right the remastered doesn’t makes him look weird as hell
Leonard Post what does mean that?
Leonard Post The original looked better
I haven't played OG Ratchet and Clank in idek how long, looking at the old game graphics gives me nostalgia lol growing up playing the PS2 was good times. Hopefully Jak and Daxter is remastered in the future enjoyed playing that even though I barely remember it lmao.
El detalle del tio ese, k como las cinematicas son diferentes, en el remake dice lo del deja vu haciendo referencia a que se vieron hace años en ps2, como se lo curran
Soul vs. Soulless
The OG ratchet and clanks had this mysterious feeling to them. The remake just feels like a childish cartoon game.
I don't agree to be honest
@@lexthegoat I do, you’re just brainwashed.
@@lovethyneighbor6886 thats your opinion
i hope we one day will realize graphics < charm
Ive been looking into how to play ratchet and clank 1 on the ps4 or ps5. How did you do it? All i see is to get a ps3
I mean shirtless ratchet from the ratchet and clank collection. I theought there was a way to play the ps3 ratchet and clank collection on the ps4
It looks like the original is holding up very very well. I've never played a ratchet and clank game, so I'm going through the remake now and it's pretty dang fun
You should play the original.
"look the plumbers crack" - joke gone becouse age restrictions lol
I really like the old version and the new version because both of them are really actions. And I like your video👍👍👍👍👍👍
The ps2 version still holds up great...very good looking
What a waste of money and effort! The PS2's graphics still look decent. Only the PS1 games need to be remade.
Original is 60fps tho
I remember when I was younger I used to play ratchet and clank gladaitors with my older bro on the ps2 and I remember it being an awesome game
The remake is gorgeous but the old graphics are just so nostalgic and that’s what gives it its charm
