The only honey garlic chicken recipe I use. I've been cooking and coming back to this UA-cam video for many years. It's not overwhelming sweet like most honey garlic chicken recipes.
I've tried this recipe today and beside the fact that I used a bit too much chicken broth, I loved it. I just used the extra gravy to put over some rice... It was sooooo good
I made this last night. It is such a good recipe that it survived my ability to overcook chicken. I used boneless skinless chicken breasts because that is what I had and didn't want to wait to cook such a wonderful looking dish. I made the broth with one of the chicken breasts (though I would prefer a bone in piece and will definitely use boned chicken from now on). Anyway I am so glad I found your recipe. Thanks for posting it!!! It was delish. I had rice and sliced cucumbers with it.
mia Adriena I really appreciate your kind words. I strive to make it accessible for everyone and I love that it's been conveyed. I hope you have a great week, Mia!
I tweaked this a little, i used boneless chicken thighs and rubbed the garlic in, along with some ginger and some orange juice to marinate. Grilled it off in a pan, didn't use onions, but i made the sauce using a cup of orange juice and some chicken stock granules, the later cooked the chicken in the sauce over low heat for about ten minutes. It tasted great. If you are wondering, i'm a uni student so I can't store or cook a whole chicken at once, and I can't make chicken stock as I can't store it later. Just as an Asian, I also feel ginger and garlic goes together and I was reminded of Chinese orange chicken, so I used orange juice :-) The leftovers made an awesome sandwich too!
It turned out great i was looking for something simple but tasty all the other honey garlic recipes call for so many ingredients where as yours has only a few but tastes so good...can't wait to try your other recipes. Thanks and I'm going to subscribe
The love and joy definitely comes through! I always liked to cook and I have gotten better over the years. I'm always learning and picking up tips to help me.
Hugh Janus Good for you, Hugh. I love when people are enthusiastic in the kitchen. Is there anything quite like snuggling up with a good meal whether you've had a good day or bad?
LOL! Well...it's definitely in the top two! It seems to me that, years ago, cooking was very strict, you must use this or that ingredient. Now, anything goes! You can mix styles and ingredients, like fusion cooking! That is my favorite, freedom in the kitchen.
I love this recipe! It looks sooo delicious :) I am going to do some checking out of your other recipes as well, too. Thanks so much for the work you put into this!
+Mitty hi I like unbleached/unbromated flour since it's less processed. You can use whatever you like/have. I like using homemade stock as it's easy, uses leftovers and is very tailor made. Store bought is fine too =)
+Rahul Ghosh Chicken should register at about 165 degrees fahrenheit. The only sure fire way to tell is with a digital thermometer but I tend to do it by feel. Also, you can find the printable recipe link in the description box below each of my videos. Good luck, Rahul and happy cooking!
oooh chile you do know your business! This recipe looks 100% divine. I am going to check through your videography to see some other vids that may be just as appealing as this one most certainly is :) Way to go, girl!
Hello! The garlic and onion add a great flavor base. If you're using homemade stock, you can omit it but even if you still are, it really reinforces that savory, umami flavor. I personally feel that little touches like hand cracking fresh garlic vs using it pre minced out of a jar...it's little bits of care like this that make a handcrafted, homemade dish go from good to great but ultimately, it's really up to you =)
That looks fantastic Angie!! Great tip about breaking down your own chicken. I normally get at least two meals and sometime 3 out of a whole chicken, for my wife and I, when I break it down myself. Have a great weekend!! :)
Hi, it looks so delicious but I've 2 quesions... - Can I use a chicken stock cube instead? If yes, how should I prepare it?? - Can I use normal flour??? (I can't find it in our supermarkets...) Thank you!
Hello! Yes, for cubes prepare according to package though making it from scratch definitely bolsters the flavor profile and depth. What I use is "normal" flour that just hasn't been chemically bleached. All purpose bleached is fine as it's a personal preference. You can also find more info in the description box below each of my videos =)
Hello! I personally enjoy grapeseed or coconut. You want something with a high heat index since it's being seared hot and fast. You could also use veggie/canola/sunflower. You can use whatever chicken you have/like. Please check the description box for more =)

Yo
Are you using coconut oil?
I believe so. For this recipe, I also enjoy using grapeseed but you can use canola/veggie/peanut.
Great thx!
when stirring the pan Is it on low medium or high?
Hello! Unless you're searing meat, you generally want to aim for medium. When in doubt though, go low and slow =)
Hi +SquishyMonster, how long should it be in the oven? It's been a lobg time since I made it.
did you wash the chicken? just asking?
Always.
Okay
do we have to add veggies
