Im 65. Me 2, every Sunday we sung this song at my Grandmothers hse while she would lead playing the pia no. Along with another Spiritual "it's a high way to Heaven, after Church. Those days will be forever precious & treasured. I just want to thank you My Lord for this early exprience growing up and forever remembering my Grandmother Alberta. I was only 6 yo when she transitioned. Yet, I can recall so much of her love and gratitude she displayed with me & my 9 Siblings came visit her home. God is good (period). He is Perseverance. This was a favorite song of our chior director, Doris Marbury-Jordan, who is now resting in the arms of Jesus. Our young adult choir marched down the church aisle to the choir loft singing this song on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Every time I hear this song I want to get up and start marching down an aisle. This takes me back to my childhood & our little Missionary Baptist Church Gospel Choir marching in on Sunday Mornings in their robes... it was a community. The Grand Days when the pews were filled with entire families and you saw your neighbors. You looked forward to hearing the next selection from the choir and the preacher was filled with passion and there was clapping and foot stomping tambourine playing and someone would hop on the organ... oh my to hear someone play that organ. I was only 6 yo when she transitioned. Yet, I can recall so much of her love and gratitude she displayed with me & my 9 Siblings came visit her home. God is good (period). He is Perseverance. This takes me back to my childhood & our little Missionary Baptist Church Gospel Choir marching in on Sunday Mornings in their robes... it was a community. The Grand Days when the pews were filled with entire families and you saw your neighbors. You looked forward to hearing the next selection from the choir and the preacher was filled with passion and there was clapping and foot stomping tambourine playing and someone would hop on the organ... oh my to hear someone play that organ.
