On the fire extinguishers, forget Amazon. Walmart and Harbor Freight both carry the First Alert brand at as low a price as you can find. Don't wait for next day shipping. Everyone has a Walmart nearby so go get them.
Those safes are very easy to break into, so please hide it well & bolt it down to the floor or wall. Also, they make water proof fire resistant safes, but you should still keep your documents in a Zip Lock bag inside.
I saw a video about home security and the person doing the video said the best place to hide one of those safes is in the kitchen pantry behind boxes of cereal. He stated when you have a break in, the thieves will head to the master bedroom first and master bath second. He also mentioned they will only stay 15 minutes or less.
A fire extinguisher should be bought in person to ensure it is fully charged. The Amazon link has many people complaining of little to no charge and Amazon and the First Alert refusing a return. Best to be safe and buy at a store and check right away while there.
Keep a mix of duct tape and the blue painters tape. Don't use duct tape on your skin or any surface where you are likely to want to remove the tape without damaging the surface.
Regarding important documents ... for less than $100 buy a scanner. Scan all docs, pics, serial numbers, etc. and store on an encripted flash drive. Give a copy to a family member or safety deposit box or upload to a secured site so you can gain access quickly and offsite.
Shame on you for saying MEN need these things! Women need these things too!!! And women often have children. Even single childless people need these things!

For light I have plenty of flashlights, both rechargeable and battery. I keep plenty of spare batteries and Nickel hydride rechargeable batteries. I have all cell sizes from AAA to D and 9v. I also like candles and especially oil lamps. They are always ready. They require no electric power or fresh batteries. The oil lasts forever and in the winter they can serve as a source of heat. In a pince they can run on alcohol or even some vegetable oils. I would like to get more Aladdin lamps with the cylindrical wicks. They put out a lot of light and heat. Candles are also a good choice. Solid fuel, always ready. Of course be careful with fire, never leave unattended, have a carbon monoxide detector and smoke detector and always keep a fire extinguisher near. Propane and liquid white gas lanterns are a bad choice. Propane is expensive and liquid white gas lanterns and fuel are too dangerous. The only advantage to propane lanterns is that the propane can be used on small camping stoves to cook and can be used in portable propane heaters.
How about every household! I’m a women and 73. I have a wide range of tools! Including a miter saw, drill, jig saw & more. How many times did you say every man?
Stored canned food can last a long time, possibly 6 years (check FDA site) .... it may lose some flavor and some nutritional value, but it is food and will keep you alive.... agreed it should be rotated out, but it is a viable solution ......
I definitely value your advice and your channel as you don't refer to the end of the world but to disasters that can actually happen. However, I would appreciate it if you said "everyone" instead of "every man" in future videos. I am not woke by any means, but I am a woman who can only rely on herself to maintain her household. Moving on to another subject, the fireproof security device needs to have been tested and certified to withstand x amount of temperature for x amount of time. As a guide, a fireproof safe must be able to resist temperatures up to 1,550 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. A safe that withstands up to 1 hour at 1,700 degrees Fahrenheit is obviously ideal but also more expensive. Still, I would consider it a wise investment. Thanks again for the helpful tips!
I suggest instead of the word man, call your audience Viewers. It displays respect for both sexes. There are many women Nomads who have to make repairs to their RVs/vehicles/homes. A large population are women who are divorced or widowed. They also do their own repairs. I am in and out of Home Depot and Lowes often in order to do repairs/paint/install a number of things. I am always treated with respect by the employees who are very willing to suggest the right tools for a job. Viewers is the term used all the time in media, such as You Tube.
Exactly, is disrespectful for us women who do "man" work due to those reasons or because we enjoy prepping and buying gear just as much as men do. I do my own repairs and have purchased gear where as my husband doesnt, he prefers to just buy new. I dont see why using a word such as people, viewers, audience, or preppers to include everyone is that hard.
Those cheap fire proof safes are not very good. In my mother-in-laws case, the documents were charged and crumbled when touched, the coinage was melted together, get a larger one to put the smaller one in and then maybe a gun safe to keep both of those in.
I don’t think you’re sexist, but to hear you say every man repeatedly was just too much for me. As a 57-year-old woman who must take care of her household, I am very proud that I have all the tools and necessities for my home. Knowledge is the key to success and so is choosing your words wisely. Very disappointing.
LOL. I resent that! I’m from Maryland! But I definitely agree… Guns are a necessary measure in order to protect these preparation‘s you have… In a situation where resources become scarce the haves will be prayed upon by the have Nots… I nitpick a little by saying that not everyone needs to have a gun… I believe only the people with brain cells and the training to operate guns should have them… Everyone else is just a danger to themselves and others…
Look, by choosing to go with the most clickable audience because its easier or convenient for you, shows that you arent really interested in possible new viewers who want to learn about prepping or buying gear. Many smaller channels include both men and women for the reason that anyone can prep. You were the first prepper channel i subscribed to for assembling my bug out bag for my kids. Im in my late 20s, a young woman with kids, prepping since March and it just got on my nerves having to hear every man needs this, a man needs that, every man needs a warm jacket, etc. Im honestly disappointed and need to unsubscribe. There are many other channels who dont this for views but because they care about informing people about the benefits of prepping for both genders.
I agree. It's a great channel and I'll stay subscribed, but it's a bit annoying when he does the "every man needs..." videos. I see no reason to alienate a potential viewer.
Or maybe women can’t be prepared because…well, women. I have all but the knife or region-appropriate alternatives already, many in duplicate. Do I not need them because I’m a single woman who lives alone?
Agreed I was just thinking about that he just proved he doesn't care about the prepper Community he cares about his views and UA-cam algorithm we should show him that this disrespect and disregard for us females that watch this channel is not to be tolerated I already unsubscribe since he said the majority of the people that follow him a let's make it the only people I just keep getting alerts because I commented on this video
Seriously good advice to a point but enough of the “every MAN should have” you even put an empathise on “man” when you say it, everyone should have these things.
Lol. How about “every person”? Men are great and all, but you’re leaving out half the population. I Am a woman and I’ve addressed all of these myself. Good tips thu.
Hey man, I'm not normally one to care about this whole gender thing but I can't support a channel that has so few principles that they create controversial titles just for views. Your subscribers should value the content enough without the need to use psychology tricks to get their attention. Best of luck
@@Danny_t_cz Your post makes no sense. He was addressing his comment to a man--the "guy" who posted the video. And given your attitude, I wonder what your reaction would be if everyone went around addressing you as "hey, girly."

🤷♂️ The majority of my viewers are men and I thought the title may trigger their ego's a bit and make them click. It would be more accurate to say "everyone" but sometimes you have to go with the most "clickable" title.

No more static noises please
I personally dont recomend that brand of safe because I opened mine with a flat head screwdriver in less than a second because it had a fake lock
Me, started the video thinking 'I'm going to have them all'. 1st item - bugger, I should have that.
Every MAN!
Exactly my thought as well. My hubby is NOT a prepper. So he needs to stop with the "every MAN"
knock it off, you WOKE! You must be on welfare.
Those cheap fire proof safes are not very good. In my mother-in-laws case, the documents were charged and crumbled when touched, the coinage was melted together, get a larger one to put the smaller one in and then maybe a gun safe to keep both of those in.
I do and i am 11
Man and woman🇺🇸
I don’t think you’re sexist, but to hear you say every man repeatedly was just too much for me. As a 57-year-old woman who must take care of her household, I am very proud that I have all the tools and necessities for my home. Knowledge is the key to success and so is choosing your words wisely. Very disappointing.
No Guns? You can tell he's from Md. lol
Or nyc
I carry full tang lol
Been stabbed by folding tactical knife ..haha 🙄
I see no reason to alienate a potential viewer.
according to him. only MEN need to be prepared!
Great info! Thank you! Btw…I’m a girl and I see nothing wrong with your title! People are too darn sensitive!!!
Thank you! This is a series I have been doing...but have never seen so many angry comments about the word "men" in one of my titles before.
@@bugoutbrothers it still sounds sexist.
Why do you keep focusing on, “man?”
Gorilla tape is good to.
bro that yellow spiderco knife is over 100$ f that knife lol
Seriously good advice to a point but enough of the “every MAN should have” you even put an empathise on “man” when you say it, everyone should have these things.
I feel like titles like this are sexist I do most of the repairs and all the prepping for my family
I actually agree with you and I'm not normally one to care about this stuff..
Wo man!
yup
Quit complaining get a life
Really .. every man.
Please.. how about every person..
Guess single women and lesbians don't need this stuff in their homes.... why make it a list for MEN instead of just for people in general?
Lol. How about “every person”? Men are great and all, but you’re leaving out half the population. I Am a woman and I’ve addressed all of these myself. Good tips thu.
Hey, I enjoy your videos, but could you try not to gender them please?
Maybe should be “every person should have?” Single women survive, too.
Bad mistake,
You should put what every person needs not every man needs .
Make sure wife or girlfriend doesn't find out about cash.
Quit complaining. Do you sit down to pee as well? Grow a pair
I mean it's your channel dude and you can do what you want within the community standards but why alienate 51% of the population and potential viewers for no reason?
Why complain, get a life
Some women don't have a man in their house so you should say everyone
Why do you direct your videos to men only? Why shouldn’t women have these things in their home as well?
Preparedness Sexism is still a thing. Grrrrrr.
Every man??? C’mon.
so women don't need these items
How very GENDERED of you to assume MEN alone need survival.
Lol true and I’m not left minded.
Ok Karen 👍🏽
🤷♂️ The majority of my viewers are men and I thought the title may trigger their ego's a bit and make them click. It would be more accurate to say "everyone" but sometimes you have to go with the most "clickable" title.
I’m sorry that chip on your shoulder must be so heavy to carry!
@@bugoutbrothers okay I'll make sure the majority of your viewers are men because I just unsubscribe
How offensive!!! "Every Man"
My wife does all these things at our house. Shame on you. It is 2021... ; - )
