The nails are thin but a lot of nail techs are adapting to that nail look because gel polished are being made thicker . I think if people plan on getting acrylic with gel the acrylic base should be thin. Cause if not when people nails grow out it will look like a hump instead of more natural . She probably ask for more money because she would have to recalibrate the nail and rebuild the apex

So by requesting to have thicker nails, I am sure the nail technician assumed that the client was aware of the price increase for thicker nails. The nail technician stopped after the third nail because she realized that the client was going to refuse to pay for that service. It’s not the nail technicians fault that those are the prices. Any store has the right to revise service to anybody
Stop going.. They make them thinner so you'll come back(and pay more) when they break. And it saves them money not to use as much product. That's why my hair and nails are natural and I do both, myself.

I’m a Asian nail tech that is passionate about my job and love my clients. It saddens me every time I see videos like this. And sometimes it’s even worst when I read through the comments to see everyone categorizing all Asian tech/salon into the same group.
That’s because majority of nail places that people go to just have Asian workers and so then when people have something wrong with their nails it’s always from an Asian worker. Yea not all Asians are like this but since people who have problems are mostly with an Asian then they will start to say things as if it’s all Asians
The only reason why they categorize Asians like this is because that’s the experiences they have . I’ve had my nails done for 14 years and I’ve had very few good experiences when I got my nails done and I’m very polite and tip well. They are mostly rude and argue with you when you tell them what you want instead of just doing it

I'm Asian and have worked in a few Asian salons and hate to say it but this is racial bias, painting all black people with the same brush. Because the client was black, the nail lady judged her and thought she was going to be problematic. So instead of resolving for client she shut down and refused service. The mother was polite and well spoken with her request. I feel bad for the young girl having to experience this. Very hurtful indeed. Makes you feel not as valued as others. SMH

I’m honestly so glad my mother isn’t like that nail tech. She never rips off her customers but once fought back because a customer refused to pay her for a pedicure because she didn’t like her manicure. My mom even finished her nails and that woman watched, and hated her mani but liked her pedi, but refused to pay for any.

At first they were talking about you a little bit saying what are you doing and the woman in pink said to help you or something. The rest was just the woman in pink translating what you were saying. She knew what was going on so it wasn’t like there was miscommunication of what you wanted. I grew up in the nail tech industry, all of my aunts, great aunts, some uncles, and parents. I have never seen anyone have to pay extra for a standard set. If she were layering on a standard set I would understand but the nails didn’t look supported. Of course there is the consideration she thought she was doing you a favor by making them thinner so when the nails grew out it was not a big jump on her hands but she’s supposed to mention it first especially when it’s done on a child.

They have the right to refuse service, but they cannot charge you more for adding more acrylic because that’s basically a fullest. Nail tech didn’t handle the situation professionally. EDIT: I am not defending the nail tech. She dumb ass hell for the way she’s handling it. BUT some of ya’ll need to understand that a private business has the right to refuse service no matter how dumb it might sound. So chill, not that serious. But still kinda is for ripping off a child. Leave them a one star on yelp or something
Any body can refuse service yes but they can not do half a job and then refuse service. They have to 1) complete the started job 2) finish the job to customer standards and infact a business can only refuse service for a legitimate reason ie rude, violent, discriminating behaviour from the customer themselves. But in every nail salon has to have a written notice to say that nails have to be done within the customer standards and any issues to be noticed before leaving the premises for free sort outs . Just saying 👌🏻
As a nail tech in training I can tell you that acrylic nails MUST be a certain thickness and should have a certain structure to avoid breakage...this lady is insane. I would've walked out without paying.

I purchased all my nail products online last month so I never have to deal with future nail shop drama. Ive never been rude to people at the nail shop or ever refused to pay but some of the asian people have been rude and unprofessional. Always the asian women with the attitudes , never the asian men who have worked on my nails. I ll never give my money DIRECTLY to people who have blatantly showed disgust for me just because im black ever ever EVER again.

Wow....from what I’m gathering from this video, the nail Tech tried to pull a fast one & she got called out on it. You don’t do 3 nails a certain way and then say it costs more to get all of the nails done that way. That is a shady practice & she got called out on it very politely.

I’m a Asian nail tech that is passionate about my job and love my clients. It saddens me every time I see videos like this. And sometimes it’s even worst when I read through the comments to see everyone categorizing all Asian tech/salon into the same group.
That’s because majority of nail places that people go to just have Asian workers and so then when people have something wrong with their nails it’s always from an Asian worker. Yea not all Asians are like this but since people who have problems are mostly with an Asian then they will start to say things as if it’s all Asians

I’ve had my nails done for 14 years and I’ve had very few good experiences when I got my nails done and I’m very polite and tip well. I'm Asian and have worked in a few Asian salons and hate to say it but this is racial bias, painting all black people with the same brush. Because the client was black, the nail lady judged her and thought she was going to be problematic. So instead of resolving for client she shut down and refused service. The mother was polite and well spoken with her request. I feel bad for the young girl having to experience this. Very hurtful indeed. Makes you feel not as valued as others. SMH

I’m honestly so glad my mother isn’t like that nail tech. She never rips off her customers but once fought back because a customer refused to pay her for a pedicure because she didn’t like her manicure. My mom even finished her nails and that woman watched, and hated her mani but liked her pedi, but refused to pay for any.

At first they were talking about you a little bit saying what are you doing and the woman in pink said to help you or something. The rest was just the woman in pink translating what you were saying. She knew what was going on so it wasn’t like there was miscommunication of what you wanted. I grew up in the nail tech industry, all of my aunts, great aunts, some uncles, and parents. I have never seen anyone have to pay extra for a standard set. If she were layering on a standard set I would understand but the nails didn’t look supported. Of course there is the consideration she thought she was doing you a favor by making them thinner so when the nails grew out it was not a big jump on her hands but she’s supposed to mention it first especially when it’s done on a child.
They should have just done it right! She should have just done it instead of asking for more money to make it a little bit thicker. Also if they are thin they can break and hurt really bad. I don’t think she is a good nail technician. Also her saying to go to another place, that’s just straight up rude..

If its alot thicker then its more money the product nail technician use is really expensive and they use the right amount not over not less to make it the natural price, if u want thicker nails ofc its gonna cost more cause your using more product on the nails

They have the right to refuse service, but they cannot charge you more for adding more acrylic because that’s basically a fullest. Nail tech didn’t handle the situation professionally.
EDIT: I am not defending the nail tech. She dumb ass hell for the way she’s handling it. BUT some of ya’ll need to understand that a private business has the right to refuse service no matter how dumb it might sound. So chill, not that serious. But still kinda is for ripping off a child. Teresa Tran First off all, the left hand was to thin to even be acrylic nails. So I doubt that that was what they payed for in the beginning.
Any body can refuse service yes but they can not do half a job and then refuse service. They have to 1) complete the started job 2) finish the job to customer standards and infact a business can only refuse service for a legitimate reason ie rude, violent, discriminating behaviour from the customer themselves. But in every nail salon has to have a written notice to say that nails have to be done within the customer standards and any issues to be noticed before leaving the premises for free sort outs . Just saying 👌🏻

As a nail tech in training I can tell you that acrylic nails MUST be a certain thickness and should have a certain structure to avoid breakage...this lady is insane. I would've walked out without paying.

I think the lady nailtech is wrong. Because that’s is her customer..They come to do nail, and they just want their finger is thicker..So, the lady just put more acrylic on customer’s finger. That’s it. Why do the customer have to pay more money for thicker?😌 It’s not lose a lot of time, it’s not more money for a little acrylic...Acrylic is really cheap. The lady nailtech should be kind, and help them.🙂 You know, someone who want their nails is thick because they want to make sure it’s not break when they work. I'm learning how to be a nail artist and I do nails on the small town I live in for cheap prices and if the person wants thin nails they get thin nails and if they want thick nails OH YOU MAKE THEM THICK you don't make them pay extra
I purchased all my nail products online last month so I never have to deal with future nail shop drama. Ive never been rude to people at the nail shop or ever refused to pay but some of the asian people have been rude and unprofessional. Always the asian women with the attitudes , never the asian men who have worked on my nails. I ll never give my money DIRECTLY to people who have blatantly showed disgust for me just because im black ever ever EVER again.
