In last three years I would have seen this video numerous times. I have been planning for this trip since 2015 and at last in Nov'19 I finally did it. What a place ...Nepal! The locals do it on a 150cc motorcycle to most parts of Nepal and when they see us on big machine, most just smile :-) BTW Jana was surely entertaining :-) lol
Amazing scenery, challenging "roads" and good cheer among friends. I would think you might be more careful at speed when next to such a drop off, particularly on a rocky trail, but you know your own skill level. Ladies did acceptable and kudos for taking the adventure. Am picking up a 2003 640 ADV soon. Can't wait!
i watched the crossing pakistan video and then i couldn't stop myself from viewing each and everyone of your videos and I'm a fan now. I'm an indian and if you visit india again I'd like to show you around the mountains and your old good friend "the mud roads".
I don't have a spare socks!! lol funny man. very funny. you people are so amazing. I would love to watch your videos whenever I feel down. Wish to meet you someday. love from India
+Shane Edele Hey there! All the best for your plan! - Unfortunately I don't think I'll be in this area of the world again anytime soon... Other priorities....
Wow! This is the best ride that I have seen. That was a really rough ride, love the bridge crossing. With all of the other bike dumps I was beginning to think that if you dumped yours you might edit it out, but you didn't.I am impressed. Driving at the pace you are, do you ever get to enjoy the scenery?
Well, it wasn't that little most of the time, only when we did some two or three day trips from some sort of base camp, then we did leave most of our luggage there. Most of the time though we were fully packed, as you can see at the beginning of the video...
I love it for it's offroad-sport-capabilities. However, it needs quite a lot of servicing, official service intervall of 5000km and a number of parts in the engine that usually fail every 35.000 to 50.000km...
Great video guys. I love the KTM640. I'm heading to Indian side of himalayas to ride Royal Enfields in July. It should be great fun, too bad I can't take my KTM however.
Well, the fact that it is practically impossible to rent a proper bike anywhere in India was the first reason for me to even consider riding there overland... ;-)
Generell: Desto abgelegener, desto gut! ;-)
Before the trip we were riding for about 5 years, purely onroad and mostly on powerful bikes like a Speed Triple. The 640 Adventures were our first ever offroad capable vehicles!
We totally loved our bikes on the entire trip! And I still do, just came back from 1800km tour to Romania, now more than 100.000kms on the clock and still going like the mad dirteater she was born as! ;-)
Died you go through China? If so did you have to get a guide for Tibet? Or did you realy go through Pakistan and India? Looks like an amazing adventure! Great riding too!
Check out that video, it should answer some of your questions: ua-cam.com/video/C5mFpqS9V4g/v-deo.html And you can find a more detailed map in some of the last posts on our blog nowsomethingcompletelydifferent.blogspot.com
Ahoy! I really like your videos and bikes! Is it a BIG problem, if I can only get one foot on the ground on a KTM 640 adventure? (I'm 176 cm high) Can I still go on adventures like you guys do?
Well I think Richi is roughly your size. I would say in 99% of the time it is not much of an issue, but when the terrain is getting difficult (deep sand, loose rocks) it is more difficult for him to catch the bike before it drops. You can see that at the beginning of this video... ;-) So the answer is: No worries, go ahead!!! :-)
Knightofspirit You two guys made me really want to ride a bike. I never rode any bike in my life. 2 month ago I started to learn (first motorbike traffic rules, handling, etc) On the first day of practice, I started on a moped. After 4 hours, I was riding a 250cc bike. It was awsome! On the next day 400cc, after that 600cc! From zero to hero in 3 days. One more test (traffic) and I'll get my license :D
Knightofspirit AWESOME!!! It's really great to hear that my videos had such an impact on you! Makes me a bit proud too, I must confess! :-) I kinda did the same to my girlfriend, she now owns a 640 LC4 Enduro - which is the same height as the adventure, and she's less than 170cm! What kind of bike do you want to get yourself? Congratulations!
triplehoernchen Thanks :) Well, I just have to get a job and save some money. (I just finished university) I visited a shop some months ago, and find this one: www.hasznaltauto.hu/motor/ktm/ktm_640_adventure_r-8061130 I couldn't ride it, and it felt a bit high, but this could be the right one for me. Unless KTM introduces a 390 Adventure this weekend in Milan (EICMA). There is a lot to be done till I get my gear and my bike, but when I do, I would like to meet you guys in Austria, and thank you personally. I dust off my german ( I learned it for 13 years, but didn't use it since ).
May i know the number plate of the country it doesn't seems to be Nepal's, any ways just enjoyed your video and that lady on the ktm ride looks to brave to travel such a danger road
We're from Austria, some of the travellers we rode with were from Germany and England. And the girls in the video were riding a Suzuki Freewind (Jana) and a Suzuki DR 400 (Fern)! KTMs are too high for most girls! ;-)
I love it, no boring chit-chat... just straight to the action!
Thank you guys..

The locals do it on a 150cc motorcycle to most parts of Nepal and when they see us on big machine, most just smile :-)
BTW Jana was surely entertaining :-) lol
Congratulations! Great to hear that we inspired you!
Can't wait!

Thanks a lot! Would definitely love to travel India again, but right now I've started a family, so the next 25 years no big adventures... :-/

Wie enjoyed the scenery while waiting for the others! ;-)
may i ask what is ur gear is this adventure ? u seem travailing light and smart .
Well, it wasn't that little most of the time, only when we did some two or three day trips from some sort of base camp, then we did leave most of our luggage there. Most of the time though we were fully packed, as you can see at the beginning of the video...

Would you recommend this bike ?
How difficult to maintain this bike away from the shop ? Maybe you can make video about it??
I love it for it's offroad-sport-capabilities. However, it needs quite a lot of servicing, official service intervall of 5000km and a number of parts in the engine that usually fail every 35.000 to 50.000km...

Simply Great!!!!
Damn, kudos to you guys. Really brave. How long have you all been riding for??
Before the trip we were riding for about 5 years, purely onroad and mostly on powerful bikes like a Speed Triple. The 640 Adventures were our first ever offroad capable vehicles!
Super
What an amazing journey!

Okaycc it became clearer. 232 days of riding and 30,000km. Wonder what the route was
Check out that video, it should answer some of your questions:

What a nice video !
You ride good but a bit fast ^^ I would have had more fear of falling :-p
When you ride a KTM Adventure, you never fall! (well, at least not as often as on a Suzuki Freewind.... ;-) )
man you ride really fast don't know how??
The KTM 640 Adventure has so many rally genetics, it's impossible to ride slow on a good dirt track! ;-)
