Even taxi driver once asked me (in Agadir by the beach) where I'm from. I told him where I was born, it's not a rich country and he still wanted to charge me some crazy amount like £8 for a few minutes drive haha.
I don't buy anything because I've been travelling extensively all my life. The rooms in London (we rent) are not big - we can barely fit our basic belongings in - let alone souvenirs... I used to put all my belongings into a storage (not big) every 6 months and go to Thailand for every winter for the last 10 years. Or just travel non stop 3.5 years in one go.
