The official is on the opposite side of the infraction and who is to say what angle the video review has to show. Get off the official and on the wrestler for shutting down after the takedown. You colleges want to have better officiating buck up and pay for two officials at all duels and tournaments and pay officials for all the time they travel and train. Most of these guys are working fulltime jobs and take vacation days to get to duels that don't even come close to what their day job pays. I can tell you in full disclosure I know that official and he is one of the best in the country.
Take down and pin WOULD NEVER have happened if he did not grab the headgear to control position. This ref saw and warned him previous. Ref should be ashamed!!!!
It wasn't obvious in real time and the ref did not have a view if that side. If SIU hadn't been pinned, I might have diffferent opinion, but that is wrestling and life. Cheating is a strong word. Illegal yes. That situation could have happened without intention, cuff the head and snap. Headgear gets caught. One reason I never like that style of headgear, too easy to grab accidentally or otherwise.
Awful title. Legal or illegal would be more appropriate. If a person locks hands while on the mat in the offensive position doesn't mean that wrestler is a cheater. If a basketball commits a foul, it doesn't make him or her a cheater. Proposing the question like this makes you reek of sour grapes.

Clearly pulled his headgear. It was the only time in the entire match he could get advantageous position and had to do it illegally.
Purdue is always dirty
