From 2009-2016 the TZ & TZG were 4.0L V6 Gasoline.
From 2016-2022 they are 2.8L Intercooled Turbo Diesels.
Both 4.0 & 2.8 are optional in TX & TXL variants

nice review. i need one but with a petrol engine but am not sure how much do they start from.
They start from Kshs 5.3M going up depending on specs. The most basic has 5 seater, cloth interior, without sunroof.
Thats the reason so many prados used in KE are for sale, there underpowered and are petrol, to me the best Toyota car, or best car in the World is the 76 series, v8 turbo diesel 4.5 liter manual.
Pls we would like to know more about which has more power than the other,explained in a way everyone will understand,, things like Cylinders..how many cylinders does each type has.. things like is there an 8 cylinder prado? ..which has an engine that can be cheaper in upgrading.. is it true that their suspensions are unsafe for high speeds.. such equations kindly,thankyou

Tx Txl and Tz are jdm models there speed meter limit is locked at 180 km.
Vx vxL are home delivered models in them you can get many other features like three zone climate control there speed meter limit is usually 200km.
In jdm cars all info written in the car is in japanes language.
Toyota Kenya sells a TXL 3.0diesel Prado with the spare wheel at the back. Very basic with cloth interior, basic Toyota radio and a few creature comforts like some steering wheel buttons and sunroof, It's also a 7 seater.

What about what Toyota Kenya sells? I have seen VX.L from Toyota Kenya and mostly bought used by Governors or top Government officials. You should have at least touched on what they sell. I hear people recommend the 2.8L Intercooled Turbo Diesels or speak highly about this particular engine. You should do this again.
Driving the Toyota Prado TX petrol version requires you to really step hard on the accelerator!

Some people change the back door but 99% Prados from Japan have no spare wheel at the back.

The 4.0L, more powerful and quicker as well, very thirsty though. The diesel D-4D 3.0L 1KD or 2.8 1GD are better to live with in terms of consumption.
@@benjaminmati8125 but on this video the guy claims the 4.0L does 1L for 11KM and the 3.0L does 1L for 10KM
@@muunankari7322 That's highly unlikely the Diesel is more fuel efficient it has a turbo while the 4.0L petrol is naturally aspirated. For the 4.0L it might be economical on the highway as compared to city driving but I can bet you will need to pump more regularly than the diesel. @@benjaminmati8125 Thank you for your response sir. One last question on performance. Between the TZ 4L petrol engine and the TZ.G 2.8L diesel turbo engine, which one is a monster on the road? Which one would you go for? And also on the Specs which among the two has top notch specs?
@@muunankari7322 I would go for the 2.8 turbo diesel. It has good overtaking acceleration because of the turbo and as its a diesel it will be better on fuel consumption. For the specs they might be close depends with the trim level, there are 7 seater options for both. The main difference is the ones without the spare wheel at the back don't have an auxiliary fuel tank while the ones with the spare wheel at the back do.
What bout zx
ZX is the V8 4700cc petrol fully loaded version of the Land Cruisers. I think we should do that next :)

Yes Beverlyn some of the 120 series had stability issues especially the 2.7L Petrol most probably coz the dimensions of the chassis & body were not compatible with the engine. Ni kama kukuwa na big body bila stamina na power😁

@@dingaworldtv Not Even Some..TX is the Most Unstable Prado to start with..it uses a Hilux Chassis...Hio Kwa Corner usipopunguza Speed Inakuweka Chini..Hata TZG Though Ziko Better of Than TX but Stability is still an Issue you can't trust corners with them
The 2.7 petrol will certainly consume more than the 3L diesel, let alone the 2.8 diesel.
Average consumption for 2.7 petrol is about 7km/l (14L per 100km)
The more the raves go up the tank goes empty👍
