This is what paintball media should look like. Big kudos to the Astra and media boys affiliated with making this happen. Hell of an event!
Seriously....NXL still uses this football stadium camera style that doesn't benefit how paintball is run and played at all.
Thanks everyone for watching, please let me know of any feedback or suggestions. So we can make the next episode even better
A game clock would be nice, but it seemed like these points went by so fast it didn’t really matter
Intro music overpowered voice introduction.
Equalize the audio from the gimbal cam mic down to your main camera. And maybe increase the exposure on your main camera clips? I realize it looks overcast and with that many files it would probably be pretty tedious to do. Killing it 😍
@@cjsimpson2484 well it’s all edited so a game clock wouldn’t serve a purpose however if we decide to do a raw match unedited then I can definitely include one
@@danf4037 appreciate the feedback I’ll work on the audio levels
Its been a few years since I've played or even watched some paintball matches. This was highly entertaining!
Huge props to Astra for *finally* introducing rules that make the match competitive; the biggest of which in my opinion are the blind layouts and paint cap. The amount of pro games I've seen where teams spend, no joke, almost an hour walking the layout and pinpointing exactly where they need to work a lane is borderline unfair.
That, and waddling out to the field with 11 high capacity pods worth of paint for a single 3 minute game so you can hose the field the entire time is ridiculous. That's not playing a game it's making ProShar money.
10000000% Preach brother.
Why do you think nobody plays that stupid shit and the general population looks at it as the foam sword version of guns
@@billyshort6428 Doing even a two second Google search would reveal there's a few million people who play paintball. The industry in the US alone is worth more than 1.2 billion dollars.
I would advise you to stray away from the use of absolute terms like "nobody". There's an exception to virtually every rule and statistic. Furthermore, claiming you have the data and opinions of the "general population" is about as fantastically sophomoric a statement as you can make.
Did you personally send out a few million polls across the US, Europe, Asia etc and collate it all? If so, then I'd believe you. Try, at the very least, to form an insult that makes even the slightest modicum of sense next time.
It’s grown so much since I’ve stopped playing 6 years ago. I think it’s time to get back into it bois
@@AmaterasuUlt same man busted out my mech marker and still kinda got it XD legs hate me tho
This content is next level. The thing I love the most is seeing Yosh ask the players in between points what’s going on in their head or what certain terms mean (like “towel”). Things like that are a great way for everyone to enjoy the sport! Love it!!
Finally got to watch this. Great job Yosh and Astra crew!
Ok I’m only 3 mins in but oh my lord..Yosh you killed it!! This is how events, matches anything should be filmed in my opinion. Can’t wait to see how much better it gets from here
✨💫
This is amazing. Not only an amazing job by the organizers but this is a true test of skill. With a blind layout it's an even playing ground for everyone and it's no longer a slugfest with paint but you got think more. Hopefully I can attend one soon
Awesomeness!!!!! Just kinda wanted a recap at the end or something to rap the episode up, instead of it just ending. For newer players or people that haven’t played… tell them why they would want to watch the next episode. Amazing job to all !
Good idea I’ll def incorporate that for the next episode
Yosh killed this.. I need more episodes NOW
Camera behind the Start boxes would be cool to see breakouts and to also see where the players are shooting now that there's bright paint being used. Then a quick Post game interview with a member of the winning team to wrap up the episode. Either way this was a very good vid.
No one better at filming and editing paintball videos than yosh designs
Looking forward to the next one.
Hell yea this way more entertaining than split deck and gosports. Great job to everyone who put this together
LOVE the fact they had winner takes all. And the teams national ranking and teams rosters before each point!
Wow best paintball tournament production I’ve seen. The body count, intro, that was great! Probably really hard to put that into live production but this was great!
Professional and great camera work !Love it
This is an amazing concept . Thank you .
LETS GOOOOOOO!
Need MOAAARRRR!!!!!!
This is what we need! We need more money to the players, but also we need support from the corporations to fund the evens. In return, people like me who watch it for entertainment will sit through the ads and buy the corporations' products. It's a full circle. This was fantastic. The only thing that would be nice is to have maybe some drone footage or something up higher...
4 pod limit is so great, love it! Astra should start a national series compete with NXL.
💥⛺️
I really like the limited paint format. I think this may be the future of pro paintball. It just brings out more skill and action. I personally think it's a great idea
I forgot to add, the blind layout is great too. I love everything about this format. And great camera work yosh, just wish there was something to wrap up the episode at the end, instead of just pulling a sopranos finale on us 😆. Either way, great work, best paintball I've seen all around in years, definitely gana stay tuned for more
It’s so refreshing not watching split deck.
I couldn’t agree more
Half of the old PSP games were just teams walking on and off the field 15 minutes of nothing
The guy losing his hopper 19:15 then you can hear him yelling at his team mates at 21:08 🤣
Yeah, that was a total bummer. If he would've just been patient and communicated to his team mates, what was going down, he would've had a better chance and regrouping. Oh well...
And how do you know that was him yelling, I honestly didn't hear or see anything that would've made me think the person yelling at that timestamp would be him
This is the change we need. Let’s go.
Thanks Bea 🙏
I hope Go Sports is taking notes. This is amazing
Awesome production
Dope as video 📹 keep it coming 🔥🤙🏾
This is agg
This is so cool, I'm loving it. I think my dream format would be 4-pod mechanical.
This is filmed beautifully
This thing built different 🎯🩸🩸🩸🤌🏽
Dang, Sounds like fun!
This tournament gives the sport the rigth way. As players, as paintball athletes we must make more tournament like this.
Would love to see overhead cam to see all 10 players to understand the chess match that paintball is
I’m definitely getting back into paintball !!
@yosh designs did you have 3 cameras rolling on a single field all event? I'm seeing maybe two 70-200 on tripods and I think a 20mm gimbal operator that only comes on field before and after the point? I like the interviews the wide angle guy does but is he filming the entire point as well and you just choose to not include it?
3 cameras rolling, only mine was a 70-200 the other two were 50mm one hand held one gimbal. Mostly they were getting the in the pit shots, at the end commentary. With that we focused on the up closed almost POV type shots. Because imo paintball shot at a wide angle creates too much chaos for the view as their is too much going on. The idea is to create a product that anyone can understand by simplifying the video shots, storyline and understanding of the game.
But to answer your question no they didn't film the entire game they were just grabbing snippets here and there. I was the only camera rolling the entire time.
@@YoshDesigns thanks for the clarification! I love filming more close up as well. I've been shooting Midwest events primarily with the 200-600mm and have my second shooter on a 90mm gimbal. I want to hire another guy now to get on field interviews and put commentary after seeing your Astra stuff 😍🥵
Bird eye view will be great
Video should have been out no more than 10 minutes after the event ended. Other than that amazing footage, editing and graphics! Great event to go watch!
Cool
Hey guys WOULDN’T IT BE AMAAAAZING IF SOMEONE ACTUALLY USED DRONE TO FILM IT????
Waiting for the next one to drop 😅
Nice
Love being able to hear the players. Just needs another camera up high.
I’ve had that thought but what I’ve seen is overhead cameras create wide angles which doesn’t allow the viewer the concentrate on the specific moves as your eyes are looking at everything happening all at once .
So the idea here is to create a single FOV to simplify the game for a viewer who might not know what’s happening
@@YoshDesigns I gotta agree with the idea of a high up cam. Perhaps even if it's just in a litterbox. I love literally everything about this tournament including your footage but I still have no idea what is going on in the point without an overview. There is a reason the NFL zooms out for the live action and has additional close up views for replays. If they just zoomed into the quarterback the whole time it would be aweful and I don't think it works with pb because basically everyone is quarterback so it's even worse.
@@YoshDesigns true. But I think (based solely off watching paintball videos for 10+years) wide angle shots do have their place. In certain situations I think it adds to the atmosphere of the video in general
6:26 that voice crack was crazy
How or when do we get EP 2? 😳
8:32 23 catches 1 off the foot then one of the wrist then 2 off the knee but the slide wiped the 2 knee hits off
@19:17 fucking RIP LMAOOOO
When can we see episode 2
Tonight 6pm my channel
All i remember from paintball is no matter what i did my mask would fog up to the point where i couldnt do shit
I just started watching pro paint videos and I'll say that it was so boring watching a championship game from four years ago definitely necessary changes
Total bummer at 19:16. He should've waited and communicated what was going on so he could get some cover though, he was impatient and the dude shooting that lane saw the hopper and was honed in on it, even taking shots at it. He knew he was gana pop out and grab it eventually. Pure bummer
If everyone had different paint colors you could easily tell if a penalty occured
Do a drone view
Pro's for refs and pink paint
diesel rocking amps?
shockers!
Big boy gave a good pep talk 14:11 but then had all kinds of issues.... just not his day. 17:08 and 19:15.
Not bad camerawork but just not the right type of camera work. Paintball doesnt need close up shots following players, it needs big wideview overhead shots to capture whats happening on the field. Feels like a wedding videographer or event videography team was hired for this =/ not their fault for not understanding how to film a team based competitive game if they dont have the experience doing it.
SAS group
Gotta film better angles, top, back, front, first person, 3rd person, get drones over there and shit, even a map of who's eliminated, who's not...
Every girls dream is to marry a pro paintballer ;)
Why dont we send these guys in the war??? Why they gotta pick an innoccent kid go to war like bruh
First match showed that gear isn’t everything
My broke ass wants to pick the playing area for undamaged paintballs
The filming isn't that good for paintball matches. I still have no idea what's going on.
The round waiter sporadically ruin because mechanic conclusively add on a fuzzy cloth. immense, vengeful octagon
Hell yeah
Gay
Stupid game.
Took long enough
My apologizes lol, sponsors wanted revisions and we wanted to make sure the product was sound prior to uploading. Im a 1 man team when it comes to editing
