@@thegoatland5267 You are totally correct. It's not a VA problem, it's a USMC cultural one. Just taking 10,000 milligrams of motrin and powering through it profoundly fucks up your skeletal system. 95lbs packs, when I weighed 165lbs. Not even permitted to go to medical to at least get it documented, and then VA doesn't cover it. The accelerated arthritis is 100% guaranteed for 03's and 11B, etc. Your body gets wrecked. I actually think the VA health care is great if you can get in it. PACT helped a bunch. I spent 5 years with VA OIG, and all I ever saw was people trying their best with a cumbersome system .
As a fellow Crossfire ruck enjoyer, I can confidently recommend the daypack lid as an upgrade to the system as a way to add some realestate when you start getting into a winterized configuration where you need that space. The daypack also makes for a great "grab and go" assault pack that allows you to sustain yourself if actions-on doesnt go the way you planned, and you get separated. Personally, I like to keep a water filter, wet weather gear, gloves, and an MRE or two, plus the level 7 ECWCS top in a freezing or lower environment. Well worth it imo. I run it on my MK7 like yours, and the (now sadly discontinued) DG3 Arctic Warfare. Great video. Glad more Infantry guys are putting out real Soldier/Marine skills like how to do a real gear layout, and not CQB with a 3 mag plate carrier.
I have one. Biggest complaint about it as a daypack was how much it made my back sweat and how floppy it is. Pouches also don't lend themselves to organization very well and if it's cinched up to minimize the flopping you have to undo all these extra straps to get into it.
I absolutely hated carrying my bergan 😂 , I was more of a fighting order day sack and webbing kinda guy lol , id rather travel light and freeze at night 😂, ranger blanket and buffalo jacket and I was good to go , that bergan looks like a Gucci bit of kit though 👍
Rucking does tend to be much more comfortable when the bag has an actual load bearing frame and hip belt attached to it instead of just some shoulder straps.
Cool channel. Happy Thanksgiving. I will critique one thing. I would say there needs to be an actual hard connection for your belt on the ruck. Some cordage and a small strudy carabiner you clip in. A bungee cord is not fail proof especially in superthick cover and your nods are on it Imagine walking through those pickers in your video.
That’s a good point. When I have explosives such as claymores the belt clips around the pouch better than as seen in the video. But you’re right, there can always be a more secure way to do it.
I love my ranger green dyed filbe for army use, if i could ever get my hands on the rare multicam prototypes, id use em, crossfire seems my best bet tho.
I'm assuming you guys record and train over/around at Camp Lejeune. Do you guys train on base in the woods, or off-base? Any tips on finding places to ruck around in full kit with a rifle? I'm over at Cherry Point and I'm worried about walking around in full kit with my rifle in just any ol' woods.
1000D cordura is tough but it definitely has a weight problem I have a DG16 but while I love the frame and suspension I do not like the bag. Lots of extraneous features left over from old contracts that are only left half-in that adds no utility for the weight.
@@mr.stotruppen8724 That’s why I love my TT modified Alice rather than their full MALICE build: keeps the light weight (for the 80’s) nylon of the main pack with just additional pouches and better straps.

How do you address the typically poor interaction between a plate carrier and a rucksack? I find it pushes my ruck too far off my body that I cannot comfortably use the waistbelt to transfer the load to my hips.
MOPP levels determine it all. And your real deal chem suit comes packaged in a sealed container you'll get charged for if you open it without being told to.
@ I have a chem suit… I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to have some accessories cuz he doesn’t have the whole suit. Depending on intel u carry mission dependent. But if u are just prepared with a mask in case wouldn’t u at least want your rain gear a mask hood gloves and boot covers and duct tape… Not everyone in the civilian community will have intel and would be caught by surprise with gas and what if someone made Chlorine gas and used it
