@@Tigerman1138 oh wow... I did not know that! Thank you for sharing that info I thought, however, it was brilliant how a little tilt of his mask or the way he would turn or position his head/mask could convey his emotion. Love the movie. ❤️

Both are exceptional actors. Both have amazing range which speaks so much to the strength of V. Hugo Weaving has a vocal quality that is so expressive, like James Earl Jones. He can volley emotion virtually on every syllable and place weight on each and every word as it needs to be expressed. Such incredible talent. Portman has a great gift for being raw in a moment. She can usher great joy or extreme sadness and pain within the context of a scene, which carries you on that emotional journey with her. It feels authentic and not contrived, so you celebrate or suffer with her.
He should got An Oscar Nom for this to be fair, I don't care that he was mostly masked through out the film. His performance in this was truly mesmerizing.
Yes! Sadly oscars have become a joke, this is an iconic performance and he managed to move mases with his performance, his voice alone deserved a lot more credit.

These two are my heroes. :) When I first saw V for Vendetta, I couldn't imagine this movie would have so much of an impact for me - it was that movie that got me interested in cinema, the one that really made me see how powerful film can be when it comes to convey an idea or inspire people. It's been a long time since it was released, but I will always hold it dear for that... and be grateful to everyone involved, especially Hugo Weaving and Natalie Portman, whose performances have touched me beyond reason - and who are, still up to this day, amongst the most brilliant actors out there. Such beautiful and pleasant people..... Smart, charming....I could go on forever!! This film could not have been anywhere near as great as it is without these two brilliant actors❤️
The guy who I hated in the matrix is a charming badass in this film. Such formidable and wonderful acting! A guy who plays a terrific villain, but a charming freedom fighter in the next film? 😂😂😂 God Bless Hugo Weaving!
the first time v showed emotion was when evey left him. he cried. i thought he couldn't experience such emotions because he only knows hate and that realization made me cry so much
After i saw V for Vendetta when i was just a kid, i realizes just how strong a film could potentially impact our idea about something. It gives a message, a warning and everything, leaving us to have a limit which soon we realized have no boundaries
This is film is THE LOVE STORY. She is an absolutely beautiful lady and her innocence is magical. He is a MAN's MAN. Their love for each other made me weep like I never have in decades. He says to her 'Nothing existed until I saw you and fell in love with you.' She says to him 'How can you be one of the most important things that has ever happened to me. its incredibly ignorant to think that actors aren't intelligent the amount of emotional intelligence that they require infused with ego which can be often contradictory to the character and the need to be empathetic. juggling all of that while retaining their sense of self whilst being in a different character to their own and having twenty people in a room all watching you while you pretend your alone or doing all of that with other actors of which you are in awe add the pressure of their ridiculous pay checks and the fact that they work sporadically so they have a long time between jobs to build up pressure. Im not saying they dont have a great life going for them just that there not all nobs that being said there are some actors who are quite obviously not intelligent on any level. a good example of someone who is arguably a good actor who as made wise choices(got paid a percentage in royalties of a franchise rather than one pay check and ended up with 20 times the amount he would have got paid) and has all the confidence and intelligence in the performance but i find is only ego outside of that is Tom Cruz i don't think he is a very emotionally intelligent guy and i don't find him very smart either he tends to try and dominate a conversation or he is very reticent and if he doesn't like where its going he doesn't silence them with an actual argument he bullies them by talking over them or by saying their wrong and he is right.
Although criticism and Alan Moore dislike the movie I love it and I love V. Mr Weaving accent is so damn sexy (I'm Straight af) but I freaking loved it and the connection between him and Natalie is just amazing.
Hi #Moviefone I really appreciate the tremendous work you are doing, this is really a huge conversation between two brilliant actors and especially Hugo Weaving. Well how could the viewers send the question somehow? are you picking some random questions? I wish if you could invite Nicolas Cage and Cole Hauser, that would be great :)
To think Hugo Weaving was almost cast as the voice of Rigby on Regular Show originally, but couldn't do it because of scheduling conflicts at the time 😊 😂.
At the beginning of the movie yeah he was thinking about him and the reasons for his vengeance but...as the movie went and he fell for Evey, he became so charming with her and then his voice...omg, i easily fell for him too!! ❤

Andrew Haym switzerland is geographically positioned in a culturally diverse region, europe in itself is culturally diverse and historically, always had been. it's good practice to speak and read the languages of neighbouring countries -- particularly when they share common land borders with yours, and in the case of switzerland, this facilitates connectivity between the citizens that go to and fro between itself and the countries surrounding it -- and i suppose it similarly goes for belgium, because there are advantages to it from a range of social to economic to political perspectives and all points in between. hugo weaving posing that question to natalie portman, has a wonder in him of her who speaks an eclectic mix of languages, and having lived in australia which has english as its primary language, geographically speaking, he and other australians simply didn't need to learn french, german or italian like the swiss do -- or in belgium's case, dutch -- to foster relationships with people from those countries when english itself is a globally-reaching language. with that in mind, every country has a portion of the populace exposed to films in english to adequately or somewhat understand others who speak it. americans would have similar cultural standing only if the entirety of canada spoke their version of french or if they took greater interest with mexico and its version of spanish, and with learning it, this would have the advantage of communicating with the majority of south america. that said, the british (the english in particular) has the same stance on other languages, they don't even learn their native gaelic, welsh or scots. it probably is due to (almost) all anglophones not really needing to learn any other language simply because they don't have to, even if they had the option to learn it when they were young, and now that they're adults, they just take amazement in it to maybe take inspiration to learn a new language on their own. or they're lazy bastards, i dunno. edit: spelling, spacing, punctuation, grammar.
