I think it’s really important to remember the nuances of this situation. I was looking through the leaks stuff on Reddit ago and a familiar pattern popped up for me, the fact that all these supposed “DLC’s” that were apparently in development were only ever being discussed, there’s no actual evidence that they were actively developing any of that stuff alongside the main game, it’s all just timeline and scheduling stuff for potential ideas. I think what really happened is because of SONY forcing them to release in 2023 for those dusty ass PS5 slims, when Insom was TRYING to push back to mid 2024, most of if not all of the DLC ideas ended up being scrapped, and because they were so far into the main game they couldn’t take out all those plot lines that could’ve/maybe would’ve been resolved in dlc. Going forward I think their main priority is making Wolverine as great as it could possibly be, as well as taking all the scrapped dlc stuff like the carnage plot line or the chameleon one in the Venom game(which based on leaks would have Peter and miles still in a playable role, just with Venom as the 3rd and primary option)to make up for all the lost potential of the 2nd game. I do strongly believe insom should’ve said something MUCH sooner instead of waiting an actual fucking year to confirm what most of us already suspected anyways, but overall the blame is SQUARELY on Sony for once again prioritizing GREED over their audience and developers achieving maximum results

The lack of communication is obviously evident on Insomniac being salty. No wins at the game awards, and the eventual backlash that SM2 is getting is evident of so. I dont even blame sony, this is mostly on Insomniac. They had plenty of time and a bigger budget to give us something better. But Brian Intihar & the Insomniac crew wanted to double down on Mary Jane missions, Life Is Strange bike riding gameplay, and a deaf girl graffiti sim. Man wtf is this doing in a Spider-Man game??? We get less of venom and un resolved side missions, in favor of that? Wasn't much of a huge leap in gameplay and an interactive city compared to games prior. If it wasn't for the slightly upgraded traversal mechanics, this is pretty much a copy and paste game. Insomniac played it way too safe. Let's make thar leap into something more innovative already.
Let this game be developed by a super Spider-Man fans, the game would have been way better than what Insomniac did lol.
