      Please stay strong. I know it sounds like bullshit but it gets so much better. It won't be easy but you can do it. I chose to go to a one year inpatient treatment center and also still go to a Suboxone clinic after being clean for years. One day I'll come off of it but I'm in no hurry.
      I've lost my closest friends to od's. I lost my fiance the same way. The hardest was my little brother. He died in my arms after I tried to bring him back with Narcan and cpr. Somehow I've stayed clean through that so it's possible to get through anything and not use.
      They all say you have to get sober for yourself and that's definitely true. Still, I use the fact that I can't let my mother lose another child as a huge motivation to stay clean. I can't let anyone that cares about me lose me or have to watch me go back out there.
      I never thought I'd have a month sober let alone apx the 10 years I have now. For a long time I had to just not use today. As long as I did that everyday it made it not seem so impossible.
      I just really want this to work for you and I know that you can do it. My heart goes out to you. And I'm rooting for you.

Took a week off work and detoxed after tapering really fast (2 weeks) and quit cold turkey aside from some benzos and weed. it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. I think you’re right that if you wanna stay sober it had to be your decision. I’m glad I wasn’t sent to rehab against my will. Either way My life has already made a complete 180, I have an amazing girlfriend (who I started talking to a few months before I got clean, but stopped until I was sober and luckily she reached back out). I feel more confident in myself and outgoing and overall good than I ever have in my life. And feel like I can handle any adversity. Much love and I’m really proud of you as well and can’t imagine how hard it must be to have lost someone, it’s my biggest fear at the moment that I lose one of my two best friends (or both) from fent.

      @naD_32 Рік тому

      @@richardhague552 the guy literally talks about how he looks up to ‘old school gangsters’ one of which used to be his heroin dealer. Also if their parents weren’t into the whole gangster life then there is definitely a chance they wouldn’t have been using which in term could give a chance that the two in the video wouldn’t have started using, so obvs it is in some way about the gangster lifestyle as well as being about addiction. It’s naive to think the two don’t go hand in hand in a lot of cases. Obvs in this case it’s clear to see that death also played a part in their addiction but if their parents weren’t in the streets they probably wouldn’t be using which gives a much lesser chance of their children using. After all at the end of the vid they both agree that the environment they grew up in had an impact on their life. Also by the way, the OP comment never said it wasn’t about addiction. She actually acknowledged that is was about addiction too by saying ‘I hope they get sober’ You just chose to try and clown someone who was literally saying something nice and wishing the best for the future for these two. This couple reminds me of my relationship, they have been through horrible things and I truly hope theyre able to get out and live a happy life. My boyfriend and I are currently addicted to fentanyl. It has torn our lives apart and tortured us in so many ways, we’re 21 and I can say I’ve already died, my boyfriend saved my life from an overdose. We’re living in Portland Oregon where drugs are decriminalized which makes it all the more harder to stop. We’ve tried to get off so many times but the pain is unbearable. As I type this I have been in withdrawal for 5 days and haven’t got any better. The doctors prescribe you suboxone or methadone but both of those have severe side effects. There is not much genuine help for addicts who are withdrawing the beds at inpatient is constantly full and you can only get methadone very early in the morning.

      As someone who was in your position but started at 13 and got clean at 21, suboxone is worth it a million times over. Even with all the side effects. I had a good childhood and still fucked my own life up so bad because of oxy/fent that was originally prescribed and eventually I had to get off the streets. It’s been two years now of me being on suboxone and getting into therapy, going back to school, got out of the severely dysfunctional relationship I was in with another codependent, abusive drug addict for 6 years, and slowly rebuilt my life bit by bit. I was on suboxone up from 2021 til the last 4 months and switched to the sublocade injection to get off it, and just had my last one. It sounds so corny but I promise you it’s SO TRUE that I never even could’ve imagined my life could ever be this good, and I’m only two years clean. I have something to live for again and I never thought I’d enjoy my life without pills, but after two years and meds for mental health issues my brain is finally regulated enough that I’m not struggling every day. I can guarantee you that if you took that step and got on suboxone in a program with therapy and started fixing your life and stuck with it, you will feel the same way too 2 yrs later. I never would’ve believed someone who told me this when I was using but on my life I swear it is so worth it to get clean. I have an amazing supportive partner and so many wonderful new people and opportunities now in my life I never would’ve met or had otherwise and how much I love my life and know it would blow everything up if I relapsed is why I wake up every day and choose to remain sober.
      I only got clean because I was forced to move cities after ending my relationship and no longer had a supply and was desperate going through the worst withdrawals of my life so I phoned up a virtual (over the phone) opioid dependency clinic that got you hooked up with comfort meds for the 36hr withdrawal and then suboxone script THAT DAY thinking I’d just take it til I got a new hookup (they don’t let u do that tho lol). Relapsed a few times in the first 6months but never looked back since and I’m so glad I didn’t

      @izzyj.4027 Рік тому

      I live in Canada so idk what the options are for clinics there but it’s worth trying to see if there’s any similar programs. Mine was outpatient so no place to stay while detox but they give you meds to help it before getting on subs and u only gotta wait like 1.5 days til you get on them and then no more withdrawals feelings at all. At first it’s weird having no high feeling but also not being dope sick but u get used to it.
      I promise you, any “side effects” with suboxone ur worried about are not nearly as bad as the side effects of FENTANYL BRO! & maybe U have only heard of ppl who are lifers on suboxone forever but it doesn’t have to be like that. I got on it saying i was gonna get off within 3 years because I didn’t wanna be on it long term (shortest amount of time where u can be in it and get off while working the proper program is 1.5-2years which is what I did) but I still wanted to get sober and didn’t have the will to do cold turkey, and that’s what I did. The trick is to use it to stave off going through withdrawals to make the hardest part of getting clean go away, and then you have to put in the work to re build ur life in the meantime. But if you do that it will work!!
      And if ur worried about going thru withdrawals for the suboxone later u don’t have to. Sublocade shot makes you wean off super slow without harsh withdrawal too

    I hope that nowadays with everything being more exposed on social media, that parents are more self aware and doing a better job.

      Even if any reasonable person would agree that it isn't really our fault, we still have to own it in order to take charge of the situation and move forward. Otherwise, we stay stuck exactly where we are while months, years, or decades are steady chipping away at our potential future as a survivor. Bad things happen to everyone that are beyond our control, but we can take full control over how we react...even if we have to fake it at first. Sure, it can be difficult, but no more difficult than what these two have already been through. Once they get going in the right direction, they can get through anything, and I sincerely hope they do just that. Cheers!

    I must say that I think that Randina and Alex are the first people I've heard talking about gangs (being in them currently/having left a gang/family affiliated with a gang etc.) on this platform without any sense of pride, regard or assigning any admiration to it (past or current).
    So many people, even after having left a gang, talk about it as something "cool". How intimidating they were and you can sense some people still take "pride" in those awful acts.
    They just don't give it the time of day and the only "pride" I see is when Alex talks about being able to influence someone to actually leave a gang (and for that he should be). They talk about it as the useless and mundane act it is. I think that says a lot about their values. When they say be good and do good, they really do mean it.
    I wish them all the best and hope that they can find a fulfilling life without risking their lives.
