I find myself also being drawn closer to my faith, not to my church building but from home, from my heart through listening to your podcast. I lost my way after my mum died suddenly on holiday 16 years ago. My mum was such a loving person, would help anyone she could all her life and worked so hard all her life, never got to enjoy retirement she looked forward too. So thank you for helping me. I am in Scotland and you reached me.
I was at that weekend conference, and Jinger, you would have never guessed you weren’t feeling well! And then you met us all with such grace, I’m impressed!
You brought a smile to my face when you were talking about your honeymoon in Australia. I had a flashback to you both taking a cooking class and acting like newlyweds in love with lots of snuggles and the teacher was getting so irritated. That was funny.
I’m Methodist and we celebrate Advent. The most common Advent candle tradition, however, involves four candles. A new candle is lit on each of the four Sundays before Christmas. Each candle represents something different, although traditions vary. The four candles traditionally represent hope, faith, joy, and peace. The middle white candle represents Christ.
I love you guys together. Jeremy is the biggest green flag of a man. I can tell how much his love and care for Jinger has truly brought out the best in her 💕.
The danger of getting in a car aside ... you guys are so sweet. I love your giggles together and how encouraging you are to each other. By the way, I'm from Kentucky born and bred. Though I did live two years of my life in Southern California. First year all over LA County and second year in Anaheim.
Jeremy. This is what you have- Misophonia is a disorder in which certain sounds trigger emotional or physiological responses that some might perceive as unreasonable given the circumstance. Those who have misophonia might describe it as when a sound “drives you crazy.” Their reactions can range from anger and annoyance to panic and the need to flee.
Great blog! Love you guys just miss seeing the girls but I understand. Hope we get to see the new baby though. Love these cards but my spouse would never do them. He’s a piece of work. You are truly blessed to have a good man.
Really good podcast ! Enjoyed it ! I saw the tree being painted on the wall behind you. It is nice it is just blank walls, it reminded me of a paradise scene or a jungle ! Keep going ! Excited to see how it ends ! Happy Holiday Season ! God bless your family!
All I could think about was Jeremy playing golf during the bachelor party on the show! He wasnt very good… lol But was it Jeremy that dressed up in the golf outfit? I can’t remember!
Jeremy Valentine’s Day is not a government holiday…it is to commemorate St. Valentine who was a priest and during his time on earth the government outlawed marriage and he was imprisoned for consecrating marriages…he would still perform the rite of marriage from his prison cell through his window where couples would come to be married…He became a martyr for such having been killed by the government for these acts and became the Patron Saint of love..he died February 14 243
I can tell you that as a union stagehand having worked for a variety of entertainment… I have been told that touring Disney acts/employees aren’t treated or compensated very well. They know they can treat them like garbage because there is never a shortage of talent in line to take their place. I’m pretty sure the parks are the same way. Everyone is replaceable. Hopefully things have changed in recent years but… I’m not hopeful. 🤷🏼♀️
In traditional churches there is an advent wreath with five candles in it. Each candle is lit each Sunday before Christmas. The last candle in the middle of the wreath is the Christmas Candle. So from late November on.....each sunday a candle is lit. I think each candle has a name. One of the candles is the candle of hope. I grew up Lutheran with these advent wreaths in church.
Yes, Saint Valentine is a real Orthodox Saint from only a few centuries after Christ, but he's not commemorated on February 14, but rather in July 6. The reason he's commercialized on Feb 14 is because of pagan fertility days - as we should recognize by now, paganism contorts and commercializes all Christian Holy days. He is a martyr for Christ which means he died for his faith, so he deserves the proper recognition at bare minimum ☦️
Ok I wouldn’t count on wolves not eating you!😂😂🤭 I live literally in the woods and we occasionally have wolf packs around here and everyone is on high alert with their kiddos going outdoors.
Oh my gosh. I’m the same way jinger. No tall or high anything. Yet I can fly and fall asleep almost immediately upon boarding, but I sit in the front of the plane ✈️
The four candles represent the four weeks of Advent, the season of preparation for Christmas. Purple is the liturgical colour of Advent and rose (or pink) is a special colour that may be used on the 3rd Sunday of Advent (known as Gaudete Sunday meaning ‘rejoice’ from the Latin antiphon at the beginning of Mass: ‘Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice!’ (cf. Philippians 4:4-5)). In some traditions, the first candle represents prophecy (the prophecy of the birth of a Messiah in Isaiah) or hope, the second love, the third joy, and the fourth peace (sometimes known as the angels’ candle after the angels which appeared singing ‘Glory to God in the highest and peace to men of goodwill’). Sometimes a fifth white candle is added in the centre of the wreath. This is lit on Christmas Eve to mark the coming of Christ the Light.
he order of the Advent candles in the Church tradition is based on the themes of each week of Advent: hope, peace, joy, and love: First candle: The Prophecy or Messiah candle, representing hope and the anticipation of Christ's coming Second candle: The Bethlehem candle, representing peace and preparation Third candle: The Shepherd's candle, representing joy and the anticipation of Christ's return Fourth candle: The Angel's candle, representing peace The Sacred Meaning Behind the Catholic Advent Wreath The candles are often violet or blue, and the third candle is usually pink. The violet and rose colors correspond to the liturgical vestments worn during Advent. The third Sunday of Advent is called Gaudete Sunday, which means "rejoice" in Latin. The Advent wreath's circular shape represents eternity, and the greenery symbolizes everlasting life. The candles are lit sequentially each week to mark the passing of time and encourage reflection on the themes of Advent
Hahaha, I'm literally listening to this driving down one of the most dangerous hwy in Arizona. Jeremy, you're a better man than I am a woman. I will literally leave my husband and grandkids standing on the ground while I do extreme things! 😂
I googled “will wolves eat people”. The answer was typically no. They are actually afraid of humans… And only in rare cases would they eat a human. Rabies was one of those reasons. Yikes!
I want to leave a comment for all the questions.😂😅 But, I'll leave one. Hubby and I always say to each other if we had another life to live we would be this or do that.
Advent wreath is a Catholic tradition five candles on the wreath three pink one purple and one white each week before Christmas a candle is lit representing one week hope next week peace next week joy then love representing the four weeks of the season coming up to Christmas on Christmas Eve the White Candle is lit called Christ’s Candle representing Our Savior’s lighting our life with his birth…just as Valentine’s Day is a Catholic holiday… St. Patrick’s Day…Marci Gras of course the day before Ash Wednesday Fat Tuesday in French before we begin our fasting season of lent..I know you had previously spoke poorly on Catholicism but how can you when you are so unaware of our belief system..just as you may revere the teachings and authors of theology we too revere our priests or martyrs for Christ we call them Saints

That was really fun. You guys should do this again. Thanks for sharing. God bless ❤️
Catholic here, we have 4 candles for Advent in a wreath. One for each week. Hope, peace, joy, and love 💕 Christ is lit as a white candle.
I thought the majority of Christian churches did the advent candles.
