      I have lived in Norway in the 90s for 5 years as a student. Norway made me a better human being, by giving me a perspective of life, the society and the world, that is hard to get anywhere else in the world. 20 years on, I still love the country and its people. Alt for Norge!

    Not only are they really meaning what they are singing, but they actually have pretty great voices and musical skills, which is not usually in the job description of a prison guard. So either Norway is doing a better job of teaching music literacy to their general population, or somehow they got a higher proportion of musicians at that prison than the norm.

    • @Olivia-W

      Chris Snyder Good at teaching.

    • @exentr
      @exentr 3 роки тому +2

      Musical skills may not be asked for in the job description but I guess Halden Fengsel is attractive for prison guards. Hence the best qualified will get the post. Having skills that may be related or are related to the job may be an advantage. Also it may be mandatory that employers ask the applicants for hobbies. Hobbies and interests tells the employer about your character. Norway had a coach for the national football team. Hobbies were important for the team building. Most players had at least one hobby aside from football. That is the best team Norway ever had. Ranked #2 in the world for one month but still ranked among the best for some years under that coach.

    It's better than being free (poor) in America, four years homeless now, started with nothing and my country telling me (CERTAINLY NOT INSTRUCTIONALY) I had to sign up for something like 20 times the money that has been involved in my life in loans just to go to a class, that they make last for half or nearly an entire decade. I haven't seen a doctor in over ten years, and a friend of mine fractured an arm this year to the tune of fifty six thousand dollars, something like 20% over a years salary for me.

      Maybe because of the unbelievable high number of prisoners in your country?
      America's got 10 a 15 times more prisoners per capita then Norway and wich, I'm sorry for you, is also the highest number in World. The relative extremely higher prisoners rates combined with the much higher Norway standards and institutions, makes the gap ridiculous ambitious for America.
      Opportunities arise if you can get rid of the religious morons and ''Wall Street sponsored big-shots'' in the senate, which, obviously, don't represent the common good.

      You might think you would. Sure it looks great.. but imagine not being allowed to see your family whenever you want. Imagine not being able to see your girlfriend/boyfriend, wife/husband, children, close friends whenever you want. Imagine not being able to go outside whenever you want.
      These are just a FEW of the things they can't do. There are so many more things they can't do. If I want to I can leave the country and go on vacation. They can't. If I want to I can buy 5 dogs. They can't. If I want to I can go out and party. They can't. If I want I can go to the mall and buy clothes or whatever else I want. They can't. If I want to be outside all day I can. They can't. If I want to be outside all night I can. They can't.
      These are things you might think you don't need, but try it. Have someone set up a plan of normal things you're not allowed to do. Do it for a month. See if you want to continue not doing those things after that month.

      Yes - watch the Michael Moore video. The guards are completely unarmed, and the prisoners have never been stabbed, bum-raped in the showers or any of that stuff - they even get a key to their own cell.
      And they get to use proper cutlery in the dining room, including the use of a meat cleaver.
      This, apparently, is their top level security prison - with murderers and rapists etc.
