- In this video I do a side by side comparison of the new ToneX Pedal and my live rig. The Darkglass X Ultra/Sansamp/Silencer. I'm using a ToneX Capture of the X Ultra pedal I found on ToneNet. Name Below.

I´m shortly before 60 ☠, the ToneX Pedal gave me a second Breath 👍
Thank you!
Great review!!
Thanks!
Nice logo, you’ve been killing it lately 😤❤️
Thanks, I know a person 😆
Thank you!
🤘🏻🤙🏻
That's a tasty tone, right there, sir.
Thank you! Much appreciated!
Hi Jared great demo! I have a Microtubes X Ultra as well, was looking at the Tonex for live gigs but more interested in it as pre amp sim than amp sim. I'd like to use it to color my tone, some dirt and eq with multiple choices if that makes sense. Will it do that and if so how are you running your signal chain for live gigs? Thanks!!
Hey thanks Michael! Lately In a live setting I’ve been using the Tonex into a direct box, and then that is ran into our rack-mount mixer. Then that is sent to front of house. We run a X32 so we can run in ears on stage, but yes I’ve been running the Tonex alone! Getting a great live bass tone!
@@JaredWebbMusic awesome thanks man!! Ordering one today
Hello, sir. So I bought one of these after hearing this tone. I mainly just want to practice on it at home through headphones. I installed the software, I found the patch and put it on there. But when I plug the bass and the headphones in, it is extremely quiet and there's so little input from the bass that the sound is almost clean. I don't suppose you have any set up tips, do you? Many thanks.
Hey James, yes I believe this was the issue with the Input Trim Level. Let me find the video that explains this!
This guy explains it very well! ua-cam.com/video/By5uHDpxaEc/v-deo.html
Honest qustion (I am newbie on IR): do you still need other effects in your pedalboard when you're using the ToneX?
Dark glass got a little more twangity clangity…. Tone x seems a bit more compressed
At practice the other night, the extra compression definitely helped coming thru the PA
Darkglass has more bass, Tonex sounds like it has only mid and highs, which may sound more aggressive when played alone, but in a mix, I think it doesn't sound as good as darkglass.
This is true, the Darkglass does have a better low end. When I was using it at band practice we have a full PA set up, with subs. the bass was perfect thru it. Going thru the interface was definitely a little different.
Dglass on this video.
You can’t beat the Darkglass. I’ve actually switched back to it recently for live shows. I have more control over my tone with it.
