the major issue with this is that kitchen scales aren't accurate enough for slow, small changes like sprinkling salt. Also I find seasoning is more about thickness than weight, but this seems very useful for beginner cooks.

All I ever do is salt and pepper. I lightly coat one side with a butter and cook that face down and add butter to the one up top. No more than a TBSP. It adds a nice crisp to ur outside layer of the steak yet it’s soft in the inside

Every time I have dry brined it has been salty (I even rinsed the steak off). From an hour to eight. I will try this 1% and see if it is better.
No need to use a kitchen scale. The trick is apply a small layer that covers the surface and that’s it.
