The Killers are a Las Vegas-based four-piece who formed in 2003, featuring the talents of singer/keyboardist Brandon Flowers, drummer Ronnie Vanucci, guitarist Dave Keuning and bassist Mark Stoermer. I lost my dear wife Lotte a year ago, and this beautiful song makes me think of her. She was a ripple in the water in the scheme of things, in this immense world. To me, she was a pearl. I will see her again, I'm not afraid, we will honour the plans that we made. We were married for 70 years, I dedicate my final years to her.

Battle Born is definitely their most under appreciated album. It has hits, but its just a little slower. Grows on you after listening to it a few times

Battle Born is an amazing album. I get really mad when Brandon says otherwise. The songs are so meaningful, maybe they don't make me jump and dance as hot fuss or sam's town, but they talk to my spirit and make me feel full of love and courage

I loved the ending. "Standing on stone, you stand beside me and honor the plans that were made." So much respect and love in that one line. Even though its difficult to do, stand by me and we will do it together the best we can.
Battle Born is my favorite album. I never had to listen to the song over and over again to like them...I fell in love with them the first time. The songs are meaningful and beautiful even if the sound is different than previous albums. I love this song.
Miss Atomic Bomb blew up my world. Heart of a Girl's one of my favorite songs by them.

Criminally underrated song and album.
Each of these albums works for a different mood. This album is more of a *close your eyes and reflect* mood rather than a *get up and dance* mood

If you like the older stuff I don't understand why you can't recognize the quality of Killers from the Battle born. Their music always brings and still bringing the Killer vision they always had.
I can't listen to this song without breaking into tears. Reminds me of the past.
The songs on this album are like flipping through the rest of my album collection, but despite the cliches he really has a terrific voice. This is one of the most refreshing listens I've encountered in a while.

I have an audio system that cost many thousands, actually tens of thousands truth be told, with names like McIntosh, Bowers & Wilkens, Magico, Lamm, and others. My wife questions my sanity for this and other reasons. Then I put this on and her only comment was " that sounds do delicious" Of all the Killer's vinyl I have Battle Born is my favorite and this is my favorite track from this album. This is the kind of song that makes it all worth it. Brandon's voice is amazing.

Brandon Flowers, WHY SO PERFECT?!!
LOVE The Killers! This one reminds me somewhat of Meatloaf's song Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad. I think The Killers have quite a few songs that incorporate similar epic story telling and musical influences of Queen, Springsteen and Meatloaf. Many have theatrical leanings (that's Vegas, I guess) and would translate to a great Broadway play -- similar to American Idiot by Green Day.
