Dear son Hafthor Julius, I drove 914 miles from Sioux Falls, SD with my two grandsons to watch you deadlift 1000 and despite requiring only 966 to win, you delivered us what we came for! God bless you my son, and congratulations!
That’s great
Glad you were able to see it live, must be an experience
914 miles? Holy that is something
Hope you enjoyed the show and safe trip back!
Now that's a true fan
thor is the definition of LIGHT WEIGHT BABY
YEEEEEAAAAHHHHH BUUUDY
505kg = Nothin' but a peanut
SKYTLET
He is so unic, omg, after his strongman career i wanna see him in armwrestling (i love this sport)😅
OI that's my thumbnail since like 2007
THOR & Deadlift = everything is possible. The strongest deadlifter ever. #THORpower
It's so disappointing that none of the new guys even challenge Thor on the deadlift . We could have seen a new Elephant Bar World Record
Now that I think of it. The people from Thor his generation there where multiple people pulling more than 1000.
Yesh would of been nice to push records but Its tactics They all know what others can realistically achieve , so no point using excess energy when they know their no where near thors figures and they keep their energy in the bank for next events.
If mitch has pushed deadlift further he may not have been able to win the frame carry or even risk injury
It's not a deadlift comp, he should attend one.
no thor wanted to win the competition and dont risk a record
@@-robster-robster- you are so right and people tend to forget that there is many parts to winning this, if Thor wants to lift heavy, he should attend to those competions. Oh right, he did.
505kg raw is definitely possible based on the lift yeaterday. With a suit 520kg is 100%yours. No one will touch it
The forklift is always winning this event 😂
A little optimistic. I think he maybe could've broken his record on the Elephant Bar here, but 505 here or otherwise wasn't there. I think one solid prep after a good deload could do it.
@a-a-rondavis9438 I said 505 is possible based on yesterday. I didn't mean that day, but he will definitely pull it raw this year if he wanted to
I think he will definetly pull 500+ next Arnold, I think that will be his main goal, then maybe next year a standard record too with a suit
Shaw Classic might be the place to do it, it's in August so there's quite some prep-time, and Thor had hit 470kg in the elephant bar in training (which is harder than a conventional bar). There's a lot that can happen until then but 505 this year may be possible
The frame was a surprise ⛰️ deadlift we expected you to win. Hope day two goes well. Especially the axel.
Hafthor is not only extremely strong, but also good on food
And foot* 😂
Thor has a strong clean and I think he may be able to press 182 kg for two reps. So he may not loose to many points on Axel. Perhaps two of the other will press 3 reps or more
@@pallethekingkong Yeah, but he is still recovering from a pec tear so we'll see. I still think 1st and 2nd is Thor and Hooper, don't know the order just yet :))
His grip is finally strong enough. Grip strength takes longer to build and he was not doing grip training as well when he won his first Arnold. Grip is the main thing on that frame carry - you stop the swinging then you can walk in up - if it swings you cannot walk it. The weight itself is not so bad - if it was a yolk they would have no problem even though it is uphill.
Good morning.
Please, please, PLEASE go to Shaw Classic and lift 505 kg or 510 kg in the conventional bar deadlift - make all the doubters and haters shut the F... up! Get that mind blowing lift, your fans truely believe YOU can do along with the recognition as THE strongest deadlifter EVER!
For now, go do your thing. Stay safe!
It’s no suit though. That might be stretch for now
THE strongest Man EVER! not only the deadlifter.
@@muhammadulizshahlaeidullah Probably.
Samson in the bible much stronger@@muhammadulizshahlaeidullah
515 with a large crowd would be wild to see 🙏
3:25 the power of visualization - if you can dream it, you can achieve it !!!
congratulations sir hafthor !!!
So ecstatic to see you compete again big man! Appreciate your effort and showsmanship
Awesome edit on the competition part. Love that energy
So happy seeing you back in Strongman 💪💪💪 I stopped watching your videos when you were boxing because I wasn't interesed in that kind of action and training. Now i cant wait to click on your videos as soon as they upload 💪💪💪
1:49 there is a violent knocking on the door and 4 icelandic giants are standing in front of your door
2:15 the serviceman Will have notes to fix the Doors on monday 😂
Great job Thor! Look forward to whats to come (& injury free!) 💪👌🏴🇬🇧
Congratulations on the return to Strongman, Thor! It was awesome getting to meet you and get your signature on my Thor shirt, to be able to shake your father's hand and meet him, and to be able to meet Coach Bas and shake his hand as well. I am so ecstatic that I was able to be there to see your return in person, and I cannot wait to see you up on the podium again very soon. We are all proud of you and we cannot wait to see you back at 100% again.
Seeing you competing and performing like 'that', 'live' was absolutely surreal, Hafthor! It was nostalgic! Massive and heartiest congratulations on your *15th One Thousand Pound Deadlift!* (yes that's not a typo), nobody else has achieved such an outrageous number with the monumental four digits. A lot of people dream to hit that number as a lifetime goal, and only 27 or something from the entire planet has achieved it. You have done it 15 times!
You also made many so called analysts, keyboard heroes and prediction gurus eat a humble pie and do a reality check on on your grip which is absolutely world class with that *phenomenal Timber carry (4th fastest time ever)!*
My favourite moment was when you said I love you guys to your beloved wife and children, after winning the Deadlift! ❤ What a fantastic day 1. Lets do you best during day 2 as well. No matter what result you will achieve today, the love and support of us will never diminish. Look how much the fans love you... *Koma Svo, the Strongest Man to have ever lived!*

_With refer to the 505 this year, I would have not believed if any of the 8.1 billion on earth (other than you) if they said it's possible. But for you nothing is impossible. If your body is recovered around year end, by all means and I say it as Icelandic as possible to the best of my ability: KOMA SVO!! Go for it Hafthor!!_
Yeah these Keboard commandos are blown away
Well said Nirmal
@@alec_m50 I always look for Nirmal Sir comment 😎 They are like a Encyclopaedia of Hafthor's record
Nice comments my brother, hope you're enjoying the show, a 505 is easily possible for Thor, he's getting stronger day by day, the other competitor's hearts sank after his dead lift, I wonder if Eddie Hall has watched this.
Back from a 4 year break, and already smashed 2 events. Imagine Thor in 2 years from now, winning WSM and ASC 😂
WSM is out of the question. He has sworn never to compete there again.
He's not going there. And he dont need to.
@palmarolavlklingholm9684 why? 😢
Absolutely incredible comeback. Unreal. You've got this!
1:55 is a certified JackPGM moment in the making for sure
Yes
Is that actually grizzly 😂 In the crowd like 7:40
I came to comment this lmaooo
Congrats man, very happy for you. And damn, you made that look easy!
Loved the 10 minute walk in the lobby!
Your pulling looks amazing! What I love about you and your team is that you are very smart about incorporating new techniques etc. You demonstrated that with your training for the fight. Also whatever you did for frame prep worked! Your frame was a huge surprise! What a great improvement! As your pressing comes back, incorporating the split leg for the overhead or the side step for dumbell i.e Novakov would be amazing! Hooper, Licis, and Novakov get so much mileage out of that. Great show, Hafthor! Be positive, you've done great on your long road back
What amazing coaches and team you have, you can see they are really there for you Thor. You got this!
Champ you are looking better than ever. That time off did you well. Welcome back King Thor !!
Can't wait to see what the rest of the year holds for you!!🎉🎉🎉 Blessings to you and your family! ❤
4th place is very respectable after so many years off, I guess next time Thor will start with the winning spree again. I watched live the events and on the pressing it seems that the past peck injury prevented great performance but the strength is there 💪🏻
4th place while recovering from a pec tear, costing him so many points in two events. Healthy Thor would've come second easily.
@@AbsoRuud76 2nd definitely, but I think he could of won actually because he would be able to pass the trial by stone which I cannot say for sure Hooper can do in healthy state. I think Hooper is a great athlete but I really don't like his attitude because real champion shouldn't behave like a child.
You are a remarkable human. Just train smart and don't get injured, we'll be rooting for you!!
Getting a kick out of seeing what happens behind the scenes before watching it all come together live. This team is impressive. I will predict & say 1st place will happen today. No doubt.
Love the way hafThor sits Now a days
Nursing the powerbelly 🫃💪
@@MrBendix yeah hands on tummy relaxed , calm & convenient

Legendary stuff!
@@giovannicupello1977 "mind your language" show DP ♥️😍 One of My favourite shows
Awesome performance on the first day of the Arnold"s! I was really surprised about how easy the deadlift looked and how well you did on the frame carry. I think you could pull 500kg right now already with a suit, and perhaps set an unbeatable record of 500+ kg on the elephant bar next year? 👀
if he do 500+ on elephant bar, this record will remain unbeatable until the end of the world
Congratulations team Thor inspiration for a lifetime.
This was my first strongman competition ever and was awesome to see how well you did! Hoping to see you at Shaw
It’s fantastic to see you compete again you are a credit to your family and strongman.
Thor is a unit you got this comp in the bag and look out every other comp you go to and I hope you do attempt 505 when you are ready 💪💪
Congratulations for this event and most of all for your discipline. Some people talk too much (you know). Besides your performance I admire the person I see. Thanks for sharing
Made that look easy.
E Z lemon saueezy
Great performance for your 1st competition back. The sport needed you back.
absolutely fantastic to watch. with all the social garbage going on in this world to see a man have dreams, train and focus and live those dreams for his family is what its all about. god bless ya big man!
I get choked up watching him compete. Soo psyched getting to see him perform again
Keep the hard work mate🙏🏻
So cool seeing you overcome everything life has thrown at ypu this past year and come out stronger than ever. Ypu are an inspiration to those of us who have dealt with similar tragedies. Thank you for being open about the journey, and showing how to stay strong and overcome for yourself and your family
Love from Ireland! congrats
Ragnar and Hafthor I just want you guys to know that these long form vids where we get longer sequences is worth so much more than fast and quick edits, thank you for making thes
Ragnar 😅😂 stop watching Vikings bro, his name is Runar 😂😂.
haha yeah i forgot and just took a wild guess@@guyk8538
That hallway manifestation was awesome! I do this all the time thinking about a massive deadlift
This was something to see :D Keep it up :)
Very impressive comeback. Very wise to not go heavier although you could. Do what you need to do for this comp, no more. Stay focused on the objective. 💪
I think he has the privilege to not go on these events because of the money anymore. He can simply do what he wants to do and has nothing to prove
He is back 🐐🔥🔥🔥💯💯
it was prty fkn crazy how ez it was you used alot of your back also n it stayed straight very cool to watch your mobility is what stands out to me lookin in good shape seem in good health
Amazing how you actually went for the 1000+ while you didn't have to. Great to have you back.
Outfreakingstanding gentlemen! Great job 👏
Epic comeback. All the best for day 2
Great first day! The Mountain is back!
Good lad Hafthor....Good to see you back..absolute beast!!!!!
Looking very locked in after day one, brother! LFG!
Amazing video Thor! Amazing!
The legend! So awesome!
It was great to see Thor back in competition and looking so strong and healthy so quickly. I look forward to him breaking the deadlift record(again) in the next year.
Thor man when I watched your 2018 dead lift record that’s what got me into strongman you delivered bro nobody’s even in your league it’s hilarious keep it up brother take your time you have a lot of it to break the world record dead lift record. There’s no doubt you can do it you’re the man for being smart and playing it safe.
Agree, I see it being between Mitch and Hafthor. Hafthor on comp days is a different beast. My only hope is regardless of Hafthors final placement, that he walks away from the comp with a fire in his heart to do more and with little to no injuries ❤️ Much love and respect from Sweden
Dude, you got it, would be great to see Martins and Novikov on the podium with you 👍
Thor seems so calm and focused...much more of a character than the last time he was competing!
Good luck champ
Insane power just not hurt our self big boy.💪💪🥰
You got this!!
Crazy how fast he was able to gain all that strength back after getting so lean for the boxing. Thor’s dedication and discipline is next level
nice to see Sebastian on the screen, dude is a legend
You got this, you are nummer 1
Partly due to inspiration from watching your comeback I decided try pr my best deadlift variation (behind the back deadlift) granted I’m only aiming for 350kg which is lightweight for you but you’ve inspired me by doing impossible things and now I’m close to my goal.
Thor,is and will be a legend for years to come. Congratulations Thor, well done.
watching him deadlift is incredible. Such a flawless technique.
Yes! Posible for you💪
i was just thinking the other day after seeing you at the arnold that 505/510 would be possible this year. keep pushing thor!
Smoothest 1000 pound + deadlift ever. Astounding performance. 💪
Man, the best news in strongmen in years, without you Thor its not the same, all fans await your return!
And what a return, like a boss, its crazy how strong are you after 4 years out, keep the good work and stay safe, nobody want to see you injured. Lets get rumble my friend, your crown await you champion 💪
I didnt know hafthor was doing the arnold classic I thought it was just a deadlift competition somewhere lol. This is great
Congrats champ! It is matter of time...
Stones today King! LFG!
Sorry about the Arnolds day 2 Thor. Great deadlift and frame carry! Pretty good job on Dinnies, that looked painful. What happened on the stone?
Awww his family cheering him on and hugging him after the frame carry.
I'm glad your there. You look grate. STAY SAFE PLEASE
4th was incredible, considering there was the axle, and the stone event was predicated in getting past the press, after the pec injury ten months ago. On to the Arnold UK.
increíble el cambio físico que hizo, hace 1 año atrás jamás esperaba volver a verlo en strongman, y ahora esta más fuerte que nunca!! alucinante cambio fisico.
Great job Thor!
Holy crap Thor is looking so much bigger than he did like a year ago. Love to see the comeback!
8.12 seconds I counted. Well done on your monumental return, Thor for the win.
Woth effort, it is! 💪🏻⚒️
Stay healthy! 💪🏼
9:37 I like how the judge on the right keeps checking everything. Real professionals
you can do it sir❤❤
I feel like the boxing conditioning/training has made your ceiling even higher for strongman.
Kinda similiar to Hoopers varied training before strongman
Thor this man deserves two tickets to your next show free of charge, best wishes dave Chubb
At 11:57 thor"s teammate screaming in icelandic accent is pure goosebumps🔥🔥
Thor should go for 504kg to start...1111lbs is such a marketable number, and shoot for a November 11 lift date...1111 on 11/11! Then he should go bigger until he can't go anymore. Maximize that paycheck Thor!!!
Just do your best and be safe. Injury free should be your number one goal for your first show back. If you get top 3 in placing overall, that's just a bonus. Good luck!
Halfthor Bjorn give us a throw back 😁🔥🤘
Hafthor lifted that so quickly and easily that New numbers in the dead lift, no one has ever seen before are without any doubt within reach. And he’s a person to do it.
You are the Greatest Deadlifter of All Time. You can own all of the world records if you want to.
Stay Safe and Injury Free and Keep Kicking Arse!!
Cool how Rob annd Jerry reacted. They knew immediately how impressive that lift was.
Great showing Thor! It was excruciatingly painful for me to see you struggle with that first stone on the final event, especially recalling how easy you pressed that stone during your last Arnold title. Did your torn pec have anything to do with your failure to lift that stone overhead and do you think you can achieve your previous pressing strength?
Yeah, it looked like his pec was giving him problems. Especially on the axel. I hope he continues his recovery and kills it at the Shaw Classic.
The effects of the Boxing condition ABSOLUTELY needs to be looked at by other athletes.
Similar to Mitch Hoopers carry-over from his running background, Eddie’s from his swimming background etc.
But in Thors case, it also was a chance for his androgen receptors to resensitize.
This offers a series of major training block considerations.
Thank you for making me believe again
