That doesn't bode well for them and I still don't think sengun and green fit and the team will probably need to move on from one especially cus both are asking for a max

      Well it’s several things why I reduced the wins, a lot of our wins last year was because teams didn’t respect us, towards the end they learned how to make it a little harder. Next we have to integrate ihart, 5 out probably doesn’t work and his man will clog the lane reducing drives. (Dallas). Next, 3 bigs out WTH injuries, next I suspect the coach will be more traditional NBA coach with regular season games and focus more on being ready at playoff time. Counter point, we are more experienced, eventually 2 legitimate bigs, better defense, Chet rested late in season, but honestly I’m ok if we don’t have the best record, just be ready for the playoffs and beat Dallas every time. I’ll take 61 but not at the expense of being a little bit tired come playoffs.

      @@awethinic8379 never seen anyone with this good of an explanation in a yt comment section but I like it. You also gotta remember ihart is only out for November, we WILL have a top 3 defense and jdub and Chet will make big 2nd and 3rd year leaps respectively. • @tribalypredisposed
      @tribalypredisposed 8 годин тому

      @@awethinic8379 Okay, but I think OKC still wants to have home court advantage, wants some cushion in case of injuries, and ideally so starters can rest a few games before the playoffs, so even given what you are saying I think they shoot for at least 55 wins.

    I think Trae is so bad on defense that you have to think about how much net worth does his offense bring to a team. He is 100% an offensive monster but i think he is responsible for -by eye test- 10 more points against per game than any other star guard i know. In my book he needs to score around 40 per game to really make up for his defense to be compared to other top 10 stars‘ overall value. He is just a point of attack every possession and good teams take advantage

    Those Magic and OKC takes are solid. I'm not sure they will happen, but it's totally reasonable. Out east the Knick and 76ers are totally overrated. Since when are big movements adding big names to your rapidly changing roster winning moves? They're almost never. And if Embiid doesn't suddenly play 70 games, the sixers are also not gonna be that good.
    Younger teams that stay together generally get better. The Magic and Pacers are the safer bets.
    The OKC already won 57 games last year, they got better in the off-season and did so by only get rid of 1 rotation player who was their least fitting guy on the roster. They should get better both in perimeter and paint defence, while improving their shooting (if they go small like last year). 67 is litterally a small step forward than they did the year before. It's possible.

      They're definitely looking like it Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges can't throw a rock in the ocean, Kat has looked good with Brunson but he's gonna get killed throughout the season on defense and OG is very injury prone he's missed like 20 games every season since he was a rookie

    • @pinobluevogel6458
      @pinobluevogel6458 19 годин тому

      There are some serious issues. They lack depth, which is an even bigger issue with Thibodeau as a coach, as he will overplay his starters. Mikal somehow seems to have changed his shooting motion and it doesn't just look bad, it also so far doesn't hit much. Josh Hart has always been a sketchy shooter, his value doesn't come from there.
      KAT ofcourse has always been somewhat of a liability. Just like he definitely learned some defense from practicing with Gobert, I hope some of the hard-nose defense and effort will rub off on him now from being around a team of very motivated professionals.
      Don't get me wrong, the Timberwolves play hard and they have the defense too, but they're an immature bunch. Remember Gobert getting cursed out by Kyle Anderson and then punching him? Remember MacDaniels hitting a wall and breaking his hand, so he couldn't play in the playoffs?
      The most grown up player on the team (besides Conley, who is ancient by NBA standards) is basically Anthony Edwards, who is barely 23.

  • @pinobluevogel6458
    @pinobluevogel6458 20 годин тому +2

    Maybe it's a bit of a copout, but some of these hot takes aren't purely ridiculous, just a very hyperbolic way of stating something.
    There is some truth to Maxey being more impactful and valuable than Embiid, as he basically has the most important skill: Availability. If Embiid plays 80 games, or even 70, ofcourse he is going to be way more amazing and on an MVP track, but most likely the Sixers are lucky if he even makes it to 60.
    And then we he goes into the playoffs, there are issues too, where so far Maxey did perform a little closer to his potential. When Embiid plays at 100%, or even 90% of his ability, he is a massively good player, but he rarely does.
    I don't think the Warriors are poised to make a 4th seed, but they are going to be good. Their roster seems reasonable, they made some solid additions and they really looked solid in the preseason so far. Same for the Magic, they might not be a contender outright or anything close to it, but I do think they might surprise a lot of people and still win a lot of games and make the playoffs yet again.
    While I love the Cali team take, that they all will miss the playoffs, that is very unlikely. At least 2 of those teams are at least going to go into the playoffs, even if it means having to win the playins.
    The Pelicans take is fun, as I'm a Pelicans fan, it is certainly not impossible that they make the 4th seed or higher. They need to fix their roster though, as so far it seems a bit messy. Trading Ingram (which keeps coming up for some reason) is a big mistake, he looked great in his pre-season game and he still is the 2nd most impactful player on the team and has been at times more succesful than even Zion.
    Get rid of any of the other guys, but keep the core of Ingram, Zion, Herb and Trey alive and add Hawkins to that list, I don't mind trading anyone else. Those guys worked hard to get where they are now and they are the ones that should reap whatvever benefits that they might have this upcoming season. And they are all young enough to go further into the future and build upon it.

      @@Sqeaky6969 I agree they rely on SGA for a major part. But he isn't much of a health risk traditionally, so that helps. The biggest issue is having solved their rebounding woes with Hartenstein and then having to miss him straight away at the start.
      OKC is a very good team, but they also act as a bit of a wildcard as they have a few flaws that can be exploited. The talent level is insane, but they cannot handle physical teams very well. For that reason I think they're more a regular season team and they need to grow in the postseason. This year could be an ideal start for that. They basically added two good vets and lost a player that was a bit of a liability at best.
