Love how the commentator in the Williamson/Young runout asks ‘how it happens’? Perfect opportunity for a replay so WE can find out ‘how it happened’ yet nah, on to the next one!! And I can’t believe Matt Henry was apparently the only NZ batter to score a run! I don’t understand how you show ‘highlights’ with no replays & then miss so much of the meaningful action! Are NZ cricket restricted unlike any other UA-cam poster in the world by the amount of time they are allowed per video? That’s the only reason I can find for such poor highlight packages (other than pure ineptitude)?
If you prepare flat decks the Aussie batters love it. If you prepare bouncy hard decks their batsman and bowlers love it. Their batting line up (somewhat bar Usman and Smith) don't like lateral movement. Swing, seam, spin. None of it, they're a very hand eye 'hit it through the line' team. If you can get them in a low scoring game you will do better more often. NZ were in a decent spot overnight, but capitulated with the ball in the morning, and that lack of confidence and the pressure, carried over to their early batting collapse. If NZ get them for 300 and don't get insane wickets like the run out, they'd still be at the crease RN

To have to rig the wicket to that degree says to me that NZ have very little if any faith in their team which can’t be good for their teams morale imo. It’s ruining the game making wickets where you might as well just roll some dice to see who wins because of the extent of variable swing and bounce. They are playing at home, take advantage of it, play for five days, use the crowds to keep you going and on top. Imo they’ve lost already making a pitch like that. As you said - they have Kane Williamson, best technique, basically completely irrelevant on an insane pitch like this though.
