    Jeremy presented a good discussion of Aprehend. However, we had a heat treatment that was not successful. I am still getting bitten after spending 3014 dollars. It did not work. I have had the company out and they "insist" I find live (or dead bugs) in order to do anything more. They insist there are none, but I am still getting bitten every night.
    Aprehend is the only thing I have left. I am praying it works. Jeremy is correct about the fact that YOU HAVE TO BE THEIR BAIT. This means you must allow yourself to get bitten every night.
    However, when you DO, you know they are picking up the spores which feels really GOOD! I am into my 4th Aprehend day today.
    IF YOU CANNOT TOLERATE BEING BITTEN AS THE BAIT FOR APREHEND, IT IS NOT FOR YOU.

      100% Mike! another thing to consider if you haven't seen any live bugs you could also be potentially dealing with mites or another biting insect. I have done quite a few treatments where there were multiple insect issues going on. for mites they're usually introduced from rodents or wildlife in the area and are pretty common but not well spoken about like bed bugs. Just my two cents, either way I hope the bites will stop for you soon!

      @@Jeremys_Bed_Bug_HQ We live in the desert. However, our landscape is watered 3 times/week. There are thousands of birds, and yes rodents where we live. Our desert is truly a living desert. Plus, we had a huge remodel done and need our vents cleaned which we are doing on Monday.

      @@hplifestylelessonsandfun9131 Thanks sincerely for your question. Out of fairness, I owe you both an apology and an answer:
      When I first "encountered" bed bugs, I could see what appear to be bite marks on my legs, arms and hands. We had little bugs around the bed, but never on the mattress.
      After months of treating them, I went to a dermatologist who pointed out that I had eczema and (possibly) also Schamberg's disease, which looks very much like bed bug bites.
      I sent samples of the "bed bugs" to our state entomologist, who examined them (for free) and told me they were darkling beetles (which never bite humans). I never actually ever encountered a REAL bed bug, even though I paid 3000 dollars for the treatment.
      I am a retired doctor. I have nobody to blame but myself. But they looked VERY much like bedbug bites, even though they never itched.
      If there is a lesson here: Go to a dermatologist and make sure you don't have eczema. Consequently, I owe you and apology. I never actually had bed bugs.
      All told, I spend about 4,000 dollars on phantom bed bugs.

    We use Aprehend for "preventative measures," the treatment is sprayed on the baseboards of our apartments every three months. Curious if you think this is the best approach? The tenants need to be out of their apartment for 4 hours after. Wondering if volcanoes would be better just for monitoring?

    hey Jeremy question: warrantys, you talk about 60 days. Bedbugs are not born in ppls properties, therefore if client brings the problem back to his property do you still cover it?. changing clients habits are the hardest thing to do plus what about apartments, do you still give 6 month Warranty?

      You have to have a "heart to heart" talk with your customers. You need to tell them up front that they will have to be the "bait" for about 2-4 weeks. Unless they are able to handle this, Aprehend is not for them. However, heat treatments don't always work. Mine didn't, even though it cost me over 3000 dollars. Thank God I can afford this. Millions of people cannot.
      You can still vacuum up thousands of BB's and therefore reduce the infestation before you lay down the Aprehend. That will reduce a lot of the trauma. If you have seriously infested mattresses, you need to consider throwing them out, or encasing them immediately. I don't mean to tell you your business. But I have a LOT of experience,
      Respectfully,

      This is exactly the best way to present it to a customer. My pitch is if you want them gone right away (or at least fastest results) he treatment with a chemical application is the best. But if you do have patience and knowing that bites will occur and that you will potentially see bed bugs ( depending on infestation size) aprehend is a more affordable and less impact to the home approach.

    • @ggatzjr4755

      You can use crossfire and apprehend together. Let's say like crossfire on the bed frame but apprehend on the box spring. The talk is needed but since usually a customer is out of the dwelling during service. I treat everywhere the customer may think is a safe location to sleep. Your doing a barrier spray around the bed and at the baseboards anyway so yes you can tell the customer to be bait but they might not like that idea. Hit everything and remember your not treating surfaces commonly being contacted by the body.

    Does Aprehend stain or leave a visible film? Is it safe to use on a leather sectional recliner being you're in constant contact with the surface? Have you had any customers have any type of reaction to this product? Can I use a pesticide type tank sprayer to spray this? Sorry, so many questions.

    • @ggatzjr4755
      @ggatzjr4755 8 місяців тому

      You don't spray the chemical on surfaces where your body touch. You spray behind and under cushions, the back side of the chair or couch, the legs, it doesn't stain but it is advised you apply a small portion to an area normally not seen to test. You can not use a regular sprayer. Companies get a special sprayer and training on how to apply. Another reason only people with a license should apply it.

    Bullshit you should have a guarantee! That is an asinine thing to do as someone who’s been killing bed bugs for 16 years. You can offer a 30 day warranty but thats it. No way in hell am i offering anything more than that with the people ive seen and dealt with. Id be doing free work all the time. Most professional pest companies learned this the hard way 15 years ago when they had to do free work because of reintroduction.

    • @Jeremys_Bed_Bug_HQ
      @Jeremys_Bed_Bug_HQ  6 місяців тому

      To an extent I can agree, it's next to impossible to guarantee anything in pest control. Specifically bed bugs which are introduced pest. However as long as a customer prepares in accordance to the preparation instructions I have no problem with a guarantee. Where i run into issues is underprepared or completely non-prepared units. These stipulations I'll mention on the first treatment that I can't guarantee if conditions remain the same. If they do prepare better the second time to where I can guarantee it I'll do so. Transparency is key in our industry and I never want to make anyone feel bait and switched so I always outline all the warranty/guarantee information within the contract.
