Dude the voiceover towards the end gave me chills. Sounds like someone is about to blow up!!! Can’t wait to see your channel gain the recognition it deserves.
Cool concept on the voiceover event video. Kinda too bad you didn't have the S2000 or Evo anymore. Both good track cars. I'm sure you got something cool though!
This was pretty awesome and unexpected! Glad you had a good time, brother. Not to discourage you, but to offer some insightful advice - I've done LOTS of HPDE (track day events like Gridlife) with my stock '01 S2000 (w/ wide sticky tires), and I slowly transitioned into drag racing with my '98 Civic. The amount of money track days require just wasn't worth it for me. Between the event entry, hotel, tires, fuel, and brake pads, it was near $1k per event. And when I was at the limit of the car, running the same lap times consistently, it was hard to keep justifying the cost. Drag racing is where it's at for me, because it costs a lot less to set up the car for it, and it's also a game of precision the faster you go. But I digress! A Miata is 100% my advice for best track day project, followed by an old Civic. I just think RWD is a LOT more fun in a track like Gingerman. If you'd like to take your EG, I think that's completely feasible. Some $800 Progress Group coilovers, 200 tread wear tires, a brake upgrade, and a tune that will limit you to ~250hp would be a fantastic place to start. Just put a really light spring in the gate and you'll be good! You'll probably find very quickly that a full-size radiator would be nice. Whatever you do, I'm excited to see what's next!
This man is practicing what he preaches! You watched TJ and he inspired you but you are out here inspiring so many others including my self! Im literally on the same road right now trying to get to a gridlife event. I hope I get to catch you at an event. Sorry I couldnt buy your LS but thank you for taking the time to reply to my messages. Keep going, doing what you love, and inspiring a countless number of people along the way. I'll catch you on the track :)
you going to just leave me on the edge like that?? I’m more of a time attack person too and to see you wanting the technical aspects of time attack. Super hyped to see what you picked up and I’m really looking forward to the growth. Voice over was great too, keep enjoying yourself while you do this too. Thumbs up papa John
Hyped for the build! I appreciate that you included the dilemma around going to gridlife, the people that are around you are equally as important as your success when they're important to you, and it's always rough finding the sweet spot of how many events/projects you can do and still spend time with them. Shouts out to Kerndog
The struggle is real! And from what I see in your videos you work hard and determined to make good videos and enjoy life at the same time best of luck to you and your ladie ! Congratulations in making it! 👏
John you are an inspiration all on your own regardless of other UA-camrs. Strip the ek coupe and patch holes and run it. You have more spirit and drive than most other drivers. I’m hoping I can join people like you soon. Keep uploading #blownmotorgang
@@boosted_john I haven’t really been into cars until I started watching your Honda builds and it got me intrigued. I’ve watched every video over and over on your ls vtec and I’ve looked into doing something like that. Didn’t know much about what’s under the hood until I found your channel! Thanks man
Dude I’ve been watching your videos for a while now. I gotta say how much I appreciate what you’re doing. I picked up a 90 DA9 Integra and you have inspired me to go Turbo LS/VTec (b18a/b18c1) with Hondata/p28 and all the goodie’s! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for the next build!!! S2000?
I’m currently building a track car out of my ek coupe all you really would need is good suspension wheels and tires and brakes you don’t need a lot of power for that track mine is currently a stock d16
Small turbo or supercharger will give it more driveability as a circuit racing car. I have an r53 Mini Cooper S thats engine swapped to a honda b18a lsvtec with a gt2871r turbo. It's yet to hit the track with this set up but I feel the turbo sizing will be ideal to give it good track drivability.
definitely set the ek up. who cares if its rusty its gonna get the shit beat out of it anyway. I track a 93 eg coupe and its definitely not a looker but she gets the job done and i know i will most likely be the final owner of the car
Turn the EG into a track weapon man, turn the boost down maybe get a smaller quicker spooling turbo. Setup the suspension and chassis and enjoy it, I wouldn't sell it or go NA

My guy killing it again 🤌🤌😎🤛 loved the voiceover at the end, felt really personal to me 😊
I got my food, i got my water, and i got my weed 😂👌
bro I had to quit smoking weed and invest that money into my build 😂
I’ll be back on the dark side by the end of the year
Thats a respectable decision👌
😂
Yes, John!! This track car will be great content. The Gears and Gasoline GridLife series is awesome.
Keep the hatch on the side bro
It’s a sick weekend warrior
Build a new shell for the track
Get it Gutted, Caged and Painted

Not an S2000 ;)
Dude you look like Johnny Depps character from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas with that bucket hat on! 🤣🤣
That’s such a solid compliment 😂
Hell yeah! That’s awesome bro
I'm of you bro looking forward for more man👍👍
Dude wish I was back up in Illinois to head out to gridlife
I’m currently building a track car out of my ek coupe all you really would need is good suspension wheels and tires and brakes you don’t need a lot of power for that track mine is currently a stock d16
Check refined movement. They track an eg with a d series. Would be awesome to see more track day events

I have a d15b7 that I have been building for tracking and I love it I say build a d series to track it
put the GSR engine in the ek NA and build the CSS block again for the eg
Hey so how is the intercooler piping all mounted, Isnt there suppose to be a hot side how is the bov mounted like that
definitely set the ek up. who cares if its rusty its gonna get the shit beat out of it anyway. I track a 93 eg coupe and its definitely not a looker but she gets the job done and i know i will most likely be the final owner of the car
A dc2 integra is a great track chassis
Turn the EG into a track weapon man, turn the boost down maybe get a smaller quicker spooling turbo. Setup the suspension and chassis and enjoy it, I wouldn't sell it or go NA
Will not sell the EG
Bro plz ek build we love the d series
I guess you're gonna get an ek hatch , right???
so what generation Fit are you buying as a track car? 🙃
Hey man I saw you there!
YOOOOOOO
bro that sucks i would have just pitch tent out side the gate
Surprised no one brought up autocross as a gateway drug for performance driving.
Small turbo the d series. Lower it, sway bars and gut it. Or same but just b swap na. Similar price these days 🤷♂️
I have something even better coming in the next video. You’re going to love it.
EP3 civic is the next build.
I will own one of those at some point.
hell ya man
Buying another car was the best option hopefully is powered by a k20 or 24 motor.
08 honda civic si with kraftworks supercharger
Boost by gear if u wanna make the eg a track car
Dude just go track your car since you already have it. Get use to it..watch your throttle; or maybe even turn down the boost?
#BLOWNMOTORCLUB
Do a crx b20 turbo
Are you trying to kill me? LMAO
@@boosted_john a b16 crx na with a built head would be nasty. good luck finding a nice starting point for a good price though.
@@boosted_john it's what I got 👀
Rsx👀?
Would be sick. I thought about it, but couldn’t find any clean ones for under 10k. Maybe in the future.
get a dc5
